Property was clean well-maintained and staff were friendly. The construction outside was unfortunate during the soak. Parking was also difficult at times. The room was beautiful and had many new amenities would highly recommend.

Friendly welcome from reception staff. Very helpful. Room was good size and had everything that you required. Exceptional view. Restaurant was fully booked so recommend that you book in advance. However we were accommodated in the bar lounge. Good choice of wine and bar snacks that sufficed as an evening meal. Comfortable bed. Rainfall shower with lovely toiletries. Again book the hot soak tubs in advance. Restaurant for breakfast was delicious and again great service.

For the price paid, the experience was disappointing. Have to say, the hotel is way overpriced for what they offer. No regular amenities (gym etc). Charges $100 extra for 30min spa use. However, the staff are very friendly.

MOST rooms face the carpark. No view. Best in best dressed for car parking. Breakfast is good, however limited. Need more standard included options. You can't eat food anywhere else but your room. The images on the website are restaurant only. Whilst the free spa was appreciated it is heavily impacted by the full construction site 2m in front of it. Such a shame. Overpriced overall for what you get.

Our stay at Kamana Lakehouse was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed. Their genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable. We absolutely loved the complimentary hot tub—the perfect spot to unwind while taking in the beautiful surroundings. It was such a relaxing highlight of our stay. Breakfast was another standout. The variety and quality of the breakfast options were fantastic, with delicious choices that catered to different tastes. It was a wonderful way to start each day. Overall, our experience at Kamana Lakehouse was nothing short of wonderful. From the comfort of the accommodation to the exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations. Nice clean property. Friendly staff and great amenities. There is construction going on out the back which was annoying when trying to enjoy the soak spa. The construction could also be heard during business hours from the room. Plenty of car spaces but can be hard to get parking if arriving back later at night. Over all a nice property with amazing views and helpful staff.

More of an upmarket motel. The listing pictures were generous to say the least. Our room had a view of the carpark and a construction site which wasn’t disclosed before booking. The breakfast was ruinously expensive for a small selection of mediocre à la carte dishes, trying to charge me an extra $7 for a cup to take my coffee away with was the final straw. The “lakeside” bath was right next to the construction site and not relaxing at all. Don’t get me wrong, the place is fine and not terrible value for Queenstown but we left disappointed

My partner and I absolutely loved Kamana Lakehouse. It was very clean, well maintained and the staff were all very friendly. Easily the best stay we had in NZ despite us traveling from Christchurch all the way to Queenstown. The ambience of the hotel made us feel very comfortable.

The rooms are getting a bit shabby the walls need a paint & the carpets need shampooing, overall very comfortable a bit over priced. A nice quiet area to stay, a bit out of the main CBD. The restaurant was fabulous, great staff

The staff were excellent and an impressive lobby / restaurant area, however the room was small and certainly appeared a lot larger in the listing. Also, an enormous sprawling construction site in front of the property should be mentioned out of courtesy.

Great hotel - awesome amenities and amazing staff. Big rooms and plenty of space. We didn’t have a great view (mostly neighbouring rooms and apartments) but we could see the mountains from the balcony. Although the bus stop is only 50m away, I wouldn’t want to be staying here if I didn’t have a car - it’s too far to walk to the main part of town if you like that kind of thing. We didn’t have a problem with this - had a car and happy to drive. Probably the post comfortable bed and pillows I have experienced in a hotel!! There was renovations occurring while we were there but have very little impact on our stay

One of the best stays I’ve ever had. On arrival we were greeted by lovely staff, who couldn’t do enough for us during our whole stay. The view from the room was breathtaking. The rooms themselves are large and have all the facilities required. We prepaid for breakfast and are so glad we did, absolutely delicious. Our only regret is not staying for longer. We cannot wait to return! Worth every penny.

My stay at Kamana Lakehouse was great! It had great dining options, easy parking, and a convenient location close to Queenstown while still being quiet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A very comfortable and hassle-free experience

Overall the rooms were well appointed, very clean, and up to date. No major issues at all. The hotel being outside of the cbd was a double edged sword - no easy walk to restaurants, but also much calmer and relaxed. It may have been onboarding/training during low season, but there were occasional staff struggles with routine requests. Dramatic mix between very good staff, very new staff, and staff that were posturing.
Overall the rooms were well appointed, very clean, and up to date. No major issues at all. After staying, certainly agree with other reviews stating this is not as presented online and wildly overpriced. The pictures are very misleading, the staff is not professional, parking is not guaranteed and when we arrived our room’s AC must have been left off for the day. It took hours for the temperature to be comfortable and we had to keep the room door and sliding door open for two hours. I recommend staying elsewhere.

Average experience. The front desk was not friendly or helpful when needed. I won’t be coming back to this hotel or recommending to anyone for their service. On the other hand the restaurant has a nice view (but small area) the staff were caring and nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the view we had was the parking lot… Also there is a construction going on right on the hotel site.

We were very friendly with the reception staff and yet they gave us a room with a bad plumbing smell that they had tried to disguise (my wife worked in the hotel business) We asked to be moved and this was done in 10 minutes. De Gustation dinner was amazing as is the view from the restaurant. Our overall impression is that the staff were not empowered by the manager to respond to customer requests without referring to management. At breakfast the waiter said he was “going to check if we were entitled to breakfast” This is not what you expect in a hotel where you are spending over $500 USD.

The hotel has beautiful views to the Remarkables and it is well located despite the fact that one has to walk up the Fernill Road to get there. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby and the hotel provides hot bath soaks that are relaxing and soothing. The staff at the hotel went further mile to help in whatever was needed. The food is the hotel restaurant is delicious and well prepared, although I found that the breakfast included was A La Carte and the food offering was limited. The hotel is close to a convenience store and two small restaurants (Fish & Chips shop and the Lokal Bar & Restaurant). I recommend staying there.

Wonderful hotel, with some quirks. We couldn’t get a room with a view so our room view was the parking lot only which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was very nice and big though. The restaurant and bar are very cozy and have a great view, but the restaurant is very difficult to get into. We were only able to eat there once for dinner but it was fantastic. The area around the hotel is convenient as well with a little shop and a few other restaurants and only a few minutes drive from Queenstown.

Great hotel - awesome amenities and amazing staff. Big rooms and plenty of space. We didn’t have a great view (mostly neighbouring rooms and apartments) but we could see the mountains from the balcony. Although the bus stop is only 50m away, I wouldn’t want to be staying here if I didn’t have a car - it’s too far to walk to the main part of town if you like that kind of thing. We didn’t have a problem with this - had a car and happy to drive. Probably the post comfortable bed and pillows I have experienced in a hotel!! Overall, the room was comfortable, the service was very friendly, and breakfast was nice. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that there is a construction site adjacent to the property, which significantly affects the views—both from the common dining areas and from the Soak House. Since the scenery is one of the highlights of the hotel, it was unfortunate that the construction blocked what would otherwise be a beautiful and relaxing outlook. I noticed that there is no mention of this construction on Hotels.com at the time of booking, nor have the photos been updated to reflect the current situation. Including this information would help future guests make an informed decision and manage expectations more accurately. However, the manager addressed my concerns and offered us one day breakfast.

The actual stay at Kamana was good, and the view is amazing but just note they are doing construction right now so it blocks your view. Everything was okay with my stay and the Kamana soak was also amazing, although we had food poisoning from the food. We hadn’t ate anywhere else other then from there restaurant and we had food poisoning, non-stop for 3 days , which was how long we stayed there. And to note their food is very expensive as well, they sell very small portions of meals , which is not worth the price. Also to note the menu doesn’t even have pizza or any comfort food options, which limits your options. And finally, i let the staff know about the situation of food poisoning and they said they would take off the food amount that was charged, although they called and claimed they accidentally charged it. Although the stay was nice and the room was particularly okay but do not recommend for big families, (as the room is a bit small then advertised), and they do not provide enough toilet paper nor water . Other then that, if you are looking for somewhere to stay with a nice view then kāmana is great but i do not recommend eating any food from there, the staff were also helpful and nice.
