Maitai Express Tahiti

The staff at the hotel were good. As we arrived at 9:00 AM and they had our paperwork ready to check in so we could at least store our luggage while we walked around the city. It was a bit odd that after we had left and put our luggage into a locked and secured room that it got moved to a separate floor that was not secured. Anyone could walk off and get that luggage as it didn't seem like anybody was watching it. We had a king size bed in our room, and still felt the room was a good size. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size. The issue became that the floor in the room was extremely dirty. I took my socks off and within a minute my feet were covered in dirt. We also had an issue with the Light and USB outlet on the one side of the bed but that did not affect our Stay. We had heard reports of noise issues and did notice that our window did not seal properly so it felt like we were outside with a small filter on it so we could hear a lot of conversations and cars driving by. Luckily we were on the opposite side of the nightclub and did not hear any of that music as I had heard as a complaint before. lastly, the hot water shower pressure and temperature were inadequate to say the least. The temperature got warm but it would never got hot and it did feel there was very little pressure coming out once you went from cold water to hot water. Wasn't a huge issue for us as we only stayed one night.

The hotel is perfectly located near the cruise terminal and ferry with huge rooms and very kind helpful staff. It will be my go-to if I’m lucky enough to come back to Tahiti.

The hotel was pretty decent, seem to be recently updated. Location is absolutely phenomenal if you want to be downtown or are heading out on a cruise ship that leaves from right across the street! No amenities to speak of, but again it's really about location. Hotel is clean and rooms are reasonable. Staff were great.

We stayed at the Mai Tai at the end of our cruise so could compare directly with the Kon Tiki. Both have pros and cons. Mai Tai has convenient parking (if confusing to fine at first!). The room was not as nice as the Kon Tiki but the Mai Tai hotel location is great being in the centre of town and close to everything.
