When I was there they were remodeling the lobby and the bar area and making upgrades to a lot of things, once the remodeling is finished it will be beautiful, the hotel is in walking distance to everything had such a nice stay & vacation 👍

So, this is a hard thing to review, as the personnel in the reception were tremendous, and people working there are generally nice and helpful. I can see that this was once a four-star Grand Hotel, but years have passed. They have invested in upgrading the building, but the workers have failed to put the final touches right. Sloppy painters destroy expensive materials on the walls with no sense of detail. Also, the breakfast area is awful—noisy and quite boring with dry bread, the females working hard and some male manager in casual clothes doing nothing. The bathroom in my room smelled, and the air vent was going into the bedroom instead of outdoors. The hotel has good personnel but bad management and an owner that have given up.

Im Hotel wird gerade umgebaut, darum ist der Empfang nicht so überragend. Die Zimmer sind soweit in Ordnung. Das Frühstück war für mich wirklich unzureichend. Gar nichts frisch- aufback Gebäck, die Kaffeemaschinen funktionieren nicht ordentlich, ab neun gibt es nichts extra mehr . Sehr sehr wenig Auswahl.

The hotel is very close to the Vatican. St. Peter's Basilica is just a 5-8 minute walk away. Unfortunately, the hotel is undergoing renovations and has several issues. We experienced annoying noises, no hot water in the shower, and very inattentive staff. Breakfast was the best part of our stay. They should inform guests about the renovations so they can make an informed decision when choosing a hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. 3 adults. We picked this location because it is very close to the St. Peter Basilica, Vatican and other interesting places. Most are within walking distance. This place is handicap accessible. They have elevator and wheelchair lift (though we did not use the wheelchair lift). This is one of the reasons why we booked this hotel. We travelled with my 80 year old mom, using a cane. The front desk is staffed 24/7. They are very friendly and helpful. I asked for a taxi for 5 AM. They booked it and the taxi was waiting in the front at 5AM. Free breakfast was also a plus. They also allowed us to check in earlier since we got to the hotel 2 hours early. I highly recommend this hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel again in any of our future trips to Rome.

The hotel is nice, and it has a great location. The managers are always ready and willing to help with whatever you need. Breakfast is a continental type, so nothing unexpected. The rooms have what one needs, and the A/C works great. The elevator is small, so we had lots of exercise going up and down the stairs.:-)

They are doing renovations in the main lobby right now, so bare with them. They are located well in the area of Prati short walk to St.Peter's Bascilica and nice authentic Italian restaurants all around. You can take the red public bus #81 right around the corner to the coliseum 20 minutes away for $2.

Filthy room. It looked like the floor had not been cleaned in some time. It Smelled like sewer gas. It was so disgusting we couldn’t sleep. They would not let us change rooms. There were boogers on the shower walls and NO hot water. Do NOT stay here!

The hotel is in agoood location -however it looks like the hotel is going through renovations. I found my room a bit dusty and the toilet had a bad drainage odour. The room is also not noise proof. You can here whats happening above your room i.e toilet flushing etc.

Room was clean. Front desk receptionist welcomed us warmly. Breakfast was amazing with choices of eggs, meat, cheese, pastry , fruit. Italian type coffee. The heating was constantly making a noise. Bathroom had a horrible sulfur smell we had to keep window open. Location was amazing. So close to Vatican . One way out the door, Vatican in a few blocks. The other way right on major shopping street. We were able to get to buses that took us to the rest of the city. Would stay there again despite noise and sulfur smell.

In room 514 the air conditioning did not work all of the 4 nights I was there. They never sent anyone to fix it and did not switch us to a different room even though the hotel wasn’t fully booked the first 2 nights we stayed. 3 different front desk staff came into room and checked the conditions themselves. There were bed bugs on the bed and I found out because I got a bunch of bites the days I stayed there which couldn’t have happened from mosquitos.

Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig, die Bettdecke & Überzug waren bei meiner Ankunft verschmutzt. An 2 Tagen hatte ich kein warmes Wasser und es war so hellhörig, dass ich alles von meinem Nachbarn gehört habe (Dusche, Husten, TV). Die Lage ist allerdings super!

Die Lage des hotels ist super. Nettes Personal. ABER die bilder die zu sehen sind, sind uralt. Das Bad ist schimmelig, schränke und Einrichtungen vermackt oder ganz kaputt. Zimmer war grundsätzlich okay, aber es war nicht sauber und man hatte noch die haare des Gastes davor im bett. Die tür zum flur hat zum Türrahmen so grose lücken, dass man die tür auch eigentlich gleich offen lassen kann. Es war sehr laut nachts da die fenster nicht dicht waren und mit dem spalt zur tür hat es gezogen. Klimaanlage hat gar nicht funktioniert. Frühstück war von der auswahl her okay aber die brötchen waren sicherlich schon eine woche alt.

Excellent hotel location. The bathrooms are huge and modern for Italian standards. The breakfast has many options and was good. We were 5 in our group and got 2 rooms and were very comfortable. Best of all, the front desk were always so cheery, helpful and made our stay so great. Will definitely stay here again! Love this place!

This is a good, basic hotel which is convenient for St Peter's and the Vatican. The city centre is also within easy reach via the metro. There is a buffet breakfast with a good selection available in the morning. Staff were very helpful, particularly the night manager who was very helpful when I had a minor accident - a fall in the room. See below. Likewise, the chambermaid was able to confirm that my hairdryer was not working and it wasn't my fault! (It was quickly repaired). The room was small but compact with enough space for me and my belongings. Wifi was patchy at best and the TV channels did not offer much entertainment, the exception being a Sean Connery film (in English, curiously) which I hadn't seen. The one problem: Aurum Hotels, please do NOT have a step between the bedroom and bathroom; a slope would be much safer.

The hotel was very convenient for the Vatican. The SIT coach from the airport stopped close by. We managed to walk everywhere from the hotel, rather than using public transport. Buffet breakfast was great. The only downside from my perspective was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

The room was a comfortable size but could use updated mattresses. We were there for 3 days and couldn't access the wifi. The staff didn't seem to care after multiple requests to look into the issue. Then they were not willing to provide any discount despite them did not delivering what they promised upon booking (free wifi). We had to purchase our own. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.

NOT 4 Star worthy - Staff is friendly. Breakfast is good, but No hot water. Hot water is only from 7 to 10 AM. The showers are Not water protected, and after our showers; there was a mess, water all over - We complained to the front desk; they are very nice, but the owners need to fix these issues….

It was extremely underwhelming when arriving to the room we were given. It had no life, was small and the double bed we booked was just two single beds pushed together so me and my girlfriend felt apart in the bed. The shower didn’t go higher than Luke warm and was extremely small. The toilet sometimes didn’t flush. The lock on the door I’m not sure if 100% worked. A lot of paint peeling off the wall.

Clean property. Air conditioning. Great breakfast. 10 min walk to the Vatican and the Metro. Friendly and helpful staff. A terrific value!

The staff was very accommodating and courteous . The young lady in the reception not sure her name my guess is Lina and the guy who prepared our pre packed breakfast for our very early trip to Florence excellent service. The location of the hotel very convenient walking distance to St Peter Basilica.

Gostamos muito do hotel, especialmente pela sua excelente localização, bem próxima ao Vaticano. O café da manhã era bom e atendeu bem às nossas expectativas. Fomos muito bem atendidos pela funcionária Luna, que foi extremamente atenciosa conosco. Ela nos permitiu guardar a bagagem no hotel por algumas horas após o checkout, sem custo adicional, e também nos auxiliou com o táxi, sempre com muita simpatia e cordialidade.

Gostamos muito do hotel, especialmente pela sua excelente localização, bem próxima ao Vaticano. O café da manhã era bom e atendeu bem às nossas expectativas. I made a reservation 3 months in advance, paying in advance with no refunds. The day I arrived, they told me I couldn't stay because the hotel was full. They then sent me to another hotel for one night. When I arrived, they told me they couldn't accommodate me. I had to return to the Olympic Hotel. They apologized and sent me to a different hotel, where they finally accommodated me. The internet connection was terrible. I think you could get a much better deal for that price.

The room was a comfortable size but could use updated mattresses. We were there for 3 days and couldn't access the wifi. The staff didn't seem to care after multiple requests to look into the issue. Then they were not willing to provide any discount despite them did not delivering what they promised upon booking (free wifi). We had to purchase our own. The lady checking us had no interest in customer service and was super rude. She did not even get off her chair when I asked for a bucket or bag for my daughter to Vomit in. She just looked blankly and just said no. The breakfast included in the mornings was great lots of options and the two staff we encountered were super nice. The room we had was super clean but our door had a hard time opening as it was stuck in the floor and hard to push open. Check out was really good and the guy was super nice with great suggestions, it was too bad he was not the first face we saw when we checked in otherwise my rating would have been different

Everything was in order from check in to check out . Room was always made well and restocked. Breakfast was served well, buffet style, with good amount of selection, for me I lean towards more protein and choose the eggs , cheese and meat with espresso and a biscuit and one piece of fruit . The buffet is included in the price of the hotel room. Staff was always friendly . My room was quiet at night and everything in the room worked. I stayed 10 nights in my most recent visit to Rome and this my third time staying at Grand Olympic Hotel . I will stay there again next time I am in Rome. Garcias , John

Das Grand Hotel Olympic liegt super nah am Vatikan, für uns somit ein Kriterium. Bei der Sauberkeit, Zustand der Einrichtung einige Abzüge, weil gerade die Rezeption im Umbau war. Unser Zimmer war in Teilen schon umgebaut (bis auf den Eingangsbereich). Das war gut. Etwas größer hätte das Zimmer sein dürfen. Dafür war das komplette Personal immer zuvorkommend, freundlich und hatte auf alles eine Antwort.

Amazing hotel and wonderful staff, made stay in Rome very enjoyable. The breakfast had a lot of variety with tasty options. Highly recommend. Found it easy to walk to other popular areas as well and transportation was easy due to close proximity to Ottaviano metro station.

The location is perfect, 10 min from train station, Ottaviano, 6-8 min from St Peters Basilica and St Angelo’s and lots of food choices to eat.Bus stop 81 is also 3-5 min walk. The reception are friendly, the room is roomy( family of 4) and the aircon is fab. The breakfast buffet is ok but the same daily and theres no hot breakfast which is normal in Europe I think. We stayed for 5 nights and the only downside is you pay additional for the tax when you arrive which costs us another 115 euro. We found Jollibee which is good for chickenjoy only 6-8 min walk from the hotel. We booked a return journey through SIT bus to and from Fuimicino airport which is around £6 and is about 15 min walk from the hotel. The area was safe and we even stayed during Young Adults Jubillee week.

They are located well in the area of Prati short walk to St.Peter's Bascilica and nice authentic Italian restaurants all around. This is a good, basic hotel which is convenient for St Peter's and the Vatican. The city centre is also within easy reach via the metro. There is a buffet breakfast with a good selection available in the morning. Staff were very helpful, particularly the night manager who was very helpful when I had a minor accident - a fall in the room. See below. Likewise, the chambermaid was able to confirm that my hairdryer was not working and it wasn't my fault! (It was quickly repaired). The room was small but compact with enough space for me and my belongings. Wifi was patchy at best and the TV channels did not offer much entertainment, the exception being a Sean Connery film (in English, curiously) which I hadn't seen. The one problem: Aurum Hotels, please do NOT have a step between the bedroom and bathroom; a slope would be much safer.

Room was clean. Front desk receptionist welcomed us warmly. Breakfast was amazing with choices of eggs, meat, cheese, pastry , fruit. Italian type coffee. The heating was constantly making a noise. Bathroom had a horrible sulfur smell we had to keep window open. Location was amazing. So close to Vatican . One way out the door, Vatican in a few blocks. The other way right on major shopping street. We were able to get to buses that took us to the rest of the city. Would stay there again despite noise and sulfur smell.

Im Hotel wird gerade umgebaut, darum ist der Empfang nicht so überragend. Die Zimmer sind soweit in Ordnung. Das Frühstück war für mich wirklich unzureichend. Gar nichts frisch- aufback Gebäck, die Kaffeemaschinen funktionieren nicht ordentlich, ab neun gibt es nichts extra mehr . Sehr sehr wenig Auswahl.

Ficamos eu, minha mulher e duas filhas durante 4 dias no hotel, em Agosto de 2026. O hotel é muito bom, situado em um ótimo lugar, perto do Vaticano, tem roupas de cama e de banho de excelente qualidade, os colchões bons. O banheiro é excelente, com água quente e tudo muito limpo. O quarto é muito bonito, tem frigobar e é muito limpo. A recepção foi muito tranquila e bastante educados, chegamos cedo no hotel, deixamos as malas em uma sala do hotel, já preparada para isso, e só voltamos no final da tarde. Em resumo é um ótimo hotel.

Melhor custo-benefício de Roma O Grand Hotel Olympic é, na minha opinião, um dos melhores custo-benefício de Roma. Sua localização é excelente, no elegante bairro de Prati, uma região segura, agradável e repleta de bons restaurantes, cafés e lojas. Além disso, está a uma curta caminhada do Vaticano, da Piazza del Popolo e de diversas atrações, com fácil acesso ao transporte público. As instalações foram renovadas com muito esmero, oferecendo quartos confortáveis, modernos e bem cuidados. A combinação entre a ótima localização, o ambiente agradável e o preço competitivo faz deste hotel uma excelente escolha tanto para quem visita Roma pela primeira vez quanto para quem já conhece a cidade e deseja se hospedar em uma região tranquila e sofisticada. went with friends, reception staff were very helpful, we kept our bags after check out due to having a later flight and they were accommodating to this. good location hotel, near the vatican, supermarkets, bus stops and amazing restaurants. we had a nice balcony room which was spacious and clean, also cleaned every morning which was great! shower and bathroom had an odd smell every time we’d come back to the hotel in the evening, not sure what this was due, we guessed it was something to do with the shower and drains as the water had the same smell. air con was amazing and very powerful, made sleeping during the night in the heat a lot more enjoyable and easier. breakfast was okay, very limited with a few options, but was average! city tax was originally €70 but this increased to €90, and we were told this once we arrived to the hotel, no explanation for the increase, and never paid more than €20 in city tax so this was unusual but we didn’t mind it. overall, good stay and worth it for the price
