We had a good stay overall — the location is great, about 15 minutes walking to the Grand Canal, and only 10 minutes from the train station even with luggage. We did everything on foot, no need for public transport. The breakfast was very nice, with good quality items (bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruits, eggs, etc.) and coffee machines. The outdoor terrace was lovely, especially in the evening, and the hosts were always welcoming. Our canal-view room was charming to look out from, and having a kettle with tea was a nice touch. However, the room itself felt quite old and could use some updates — dated decor, dusty curtains, and a few broken lightbulbs. It was extremely hot inside (even in mid-October), and with no AC available, we had to keep the windows open at night, which meant lots of noise and mosquitoes. The shower setup was also awkward and not very comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed the location, breakfast, and view, but expected a bit more comfort, especially from an upgraded room.

When I arrived I found out that the a/c was not working. Said it was a city regulation. The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was exceedingly small. The management did bring up two fans to get the air circulating, but that made the room even smaller. Management said he could not find another property t for me to move to. I had do find one. With moving I lost 1 day of my Venice trip

Lovely hotel for the price. Charming building, very close to station and entrance to the island. Staff were very helpful. Air conditioning was excellent and everything else was very comfortable.

Nice hotel. Staff was awesome, as was the complementary breakfast. Location is very good. In a less trafficked area so not as busy as more touristy areas...which we liked. Rooms are quite small. We had to have them remove a desk chair so we could fully open both of our clam shell suitcases. A/C was, also, cut off on the whole island after 10/1 (per the front desk) so our room was incredibly hot (outside temps were in the 80s which was unusual for October). That made things pretty miserable. Nice hotel, but we would probably not stay here again, due to the room size.

Lovely little hotel in the heart of Venice. Luca was so helpful in getting us around town and suggesting dining options and even called and set up a reservation for us. The bar was a nice place to unwind at day end and the garden breakfast was amazing! So many food options for breakfast and a quaint atmosphere. We chose this hotel because it was a close walk to the train station. I would definitely stay here in the future.

A fabulous location right on the canal with a beautiful view. The hotel was lovely with an excellent restaurant and very friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. The air-con was noisy in our room but we were so grateful to have air-conditioning in the extreme heat that it didn't matter. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Venice.

Amazing view of the canals from our room and great breakfast every morning in the dining room and outdoor patio. However, despite the hotel listing "Air Conditioning" as a feature, this was not available - they only use the air conditioning in certain months so despite the warm weather, they could/would not turn it on. Seems a common problem with Italian hotels, but should be noted if you prefer a chill room and are going during warm weather. Best to check in advance on that.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff was very helpful and friendly, room and common spaces were all clean and beautiful, the included breakfast was fantastic, and we had a beautiful view of the canal too! It was also in good area, close to transportation and very walkable.

Room and hotel were very clean. The hotel in general was beautiful. There was some paint peeking in the wall by the elevator and at the bottom of the bathroom door frame. The towel heating rack didn't work. Otherwise, we were very happy with the room. We loved the view of the canal. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.

Loved view of canal. Easy to find from train station. Main bridge from RR station has lots of steps to schlep luggage. Hotel neighborhood has lots of stores and eateries. Our room was extremely small and needs fixing. For example, closet door very hard to move. Very little space for storing clothes and luggage.

Beautiful old hotel, very quaint and lovely. A little run down, and the wall in our room was peeling - apart from that, very old world and beautiful. Right I’m front of the canals, walking distance from the train station and easy walking to find food and vaporetto.

Great location without the crowds. Our room and beds were very comfortable and large. Although, our friends room was the size of a closet. Something to be aware of. The garden was peaceful and nice to be able to have a cocktail in. Location was great. Quiet and easy walk to all the typical sights. We would stay there again.

We upgraded to a deluxe room with a view of the canal. The room was clean, roomy and had an amazing view. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was great l. This hotel is in a great location. I would highly recommend staying here.

The staff were very helpful and professional. We wrapped up a month long adventure across Europe celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Our view of the bridge and canal, the proximity to all the main sites was ideal.

I can't say enough about the staff and our experience. We got mugged in Maestre and decided not to return to that hotel and went to Expedia as instructed by our travel agent. The first hotel turned us away (even though the website said they had rooms?). We went to the Palazzo Marcello as suggested and were greeted by Marco (hope his name was right). He was amazing and suggested we try the Dolphin for dining. We had the MOST memorable time at the Dolphin and even saw Marco there when we arrived. This hotel is spot on for a Venice experience. Charming, quiet, near shopping and dining. The Somalier Roberto was great at the bar and was too happy to serve us the Count's own wines in the courtyard garden...We LOVED our stay here.

Hotel was just ok tv didnt work. Staff were not all very friendly. I feel as if they were annoyed with helping me. Individuals before and after us got a tour of the place and the rooms we didnt. We were also the only Americans at the time. Food was ok for breakfast. Just did not get a good experience with the staff. Also price seemed to change when we got there. Didnt match what expedia had i lost like $200.

Great location for entering and exiting Venice. It was an 8 min walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the taxi stand. Gondolas are right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel was in a great location for us. Located right on the canal by train, airport bus and water bus stations. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby and a lovely but 20 minute walk to San Marco, but we enjoyed lots of beautiful places on this walk. The hotel staff were lovely and really helpful. Breakfast was really nice. Rooms were nice and bed was very comfortable. Would recommend and return to stay

Great location with easy access from the train station with luggage. We had a canal view room, it was huge with a very nice view of the canal. Breakfast was very good, unfortunately due to the weather we were not able to enjoy the courtyard, however, it looks great. All the staff were very freindly and helpful at all times. Lovely little hotel in the heart of Venice. Luca was so helpful in getting us around town and suggesting dining options and even called and set up a reservation for us. The bar was a nice place to unwind at day end and the garden breakfast was amazing! So many food options for breakfast and a quaint atmosphere. We chose this hotel because it was a close walk to the train station. I would definitely stay here in the future.

We just left Venice yesterday and so nice to be in my own bed. We love traveling the world but that can only happen if we sleep good and look good. This hotel can NOT provide that to us and made our few days in Venice very tough. They have the hardest mattress that we ever slept on and the hotel doesn’t offer iron/iron board either. I have traveled to over 30 countries and all states in the USA and to find a room with a hard mattress without an iron to get my clothes in order to look good and enjoy the city, was very disappointing. Breakfast was ok and repetitive. Breakfast was a fancy version of a cheap continental breakfast we find at a Motel 6…. You’ll eat the saltiest bacon ever in your life. If you have a room facing the canal, which is cool specially if you have a balcony, be ready to be woken up every morning at 8am by the trash boat collecting the garbage carts and making noise. So, besides the great location and the clean hotel, that unfortunately wont be making me go back again. If wearing wrinkled clothes and sleeping in a hard mattress is for you, go for it… Ok, this hotel will be a no go for us ever again. No thanks!

Loved the historic hotel, location, canal and gondola spot just outside - all very 'Venice'. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast could be eaten on a lovely outdoor patio. The hotel was just about walkable (we managed it with a suitcase and smaller hand luggage each) from the Piazzalo Roma, the terminal for the people-mover and the local buses, it was a short walk, but with 3 small bridges to cross.

This was a very cute historic hotel in a very great location, close to shops and food and just about 12-15 min walk to the train station. No matter were you go there are stair bridges all over Venice. The hotel had a nice selection for breakfast including tea and coffee.

After traveling for 48 hours due to a cancelled flight, I was disappointed to arrive at the hotel and find that the shower head was broken, the bed was uncomfortable, and there were marks all over the walls. The hotel also refused to refund me for the night I couldn’t use because my schedule was disrupted. For the very high price I paid, I am disappointed.
