Early call confirmed fridge in room. Had to call for refrigerator to be delivered.Then it froze soda and dip. Advertised as having 3 pools - none are for lap swimming. Very disappointing. Food was superb.

This upscale property is clean and feels very safe. The room was ample and everything worked properly. Service at the front desk and all other employees were friendly and helpful. The mineral pools were clean and the surrounding areas, cabanas, etc. were lovely.

We were a bit disappointed on this stay at the Fairmont in Sonoma. Part of the spa was shut down due to construction/remodel the pool that was supposed to be 104 degrees was freezing cold, we had a gift card that took 2 employees and a manager to figure out. Still not sure if we received a credit or what happened. Parking was so confusing we just parked on the street. We only found one fire pit working in the evening out of the 5 we tried. In house wine tasting was a disappointment as well. We have seen better times here in the past so we remain optimistic.

We have been coming to this property for over 25 years, it's not as nice as it use to be. Fairmont charges $69 to use the spa pool. Almost all the sun beds were reserved by the cabanas. After spending $140, we ended up getting 1 sunbed far away from the pool. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when the hotels charges for the room plus the pool plus the premium sun bed. The restaurant Sante is not as good as it use to be. The lobby is inviting and the sitting areas outside is nice. I wished the hotel will reconsider changing $69 to use the pool for their hotel guests.

My first time staying at this Fairmont. I was disappointed. For the price 700$ a night for each room, I expected much more. I booked two rooms for myself and my guests. They were not near each other and they wouldn’t move us closer. The heated pool was tepid at best. No jacuzzi to use unless you paid 50$ a person and it closed at 6:00pm. 39$ to park. The only positive was complimentary champagne on arrival. Much better options in the Napa area.

Lovely place to spend a couple nights: Beds are super comfortable and rooms are well equipped. Hotel gym is nice and the lobby and surrounding areas are wonderful places to gather and relax. Adults/families with teens be warned, however: The main/only included pool is overrun with little kids and the other (18 ) pools require an additional $49/per day per person fee. I also wish there was an option for grab-n-go breakfasts, snacks or smoothies. I would stay there again, but probably not on a school holiday or popular weekend. It's in a great location between Sonoma and Glen Ellen.

Enjoyed my mother-daughter trip. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed the amenities. Because it was a weekend, the main pool had many children. Our other option was to pay for a day pass, which seemed expensive given that we were staying at the resort. Other than that, it was great. The staff at Santa was exceptional!

Sonoma Mission Inn is a grande dame of the wine country. However, it's starting to look tired. Our rooms were spotless, but the cement outside of our rooms was peeling, some walls could have used a painting (a little dingy). The gardens are very well cared for. Checking in, the young woman at the desk didn't look up to acknowledge that the four of us in line were standing there. (If she was busy, she could have simply let us know she'd be with us in a moment). She failed to offer my friend and I a glass of champagne, although it was included and they offered it to other guests. Checking out- there was only one person at the desk with a fairly long line of people. Had to wait 10 minutes before someone else came and helped me. Lobby and dining area- some of the seats were stained, although things were technically clean. All in all, not what I would expect from a Fairmont Hotel. I travel frequently and stay at a lot of hotels, so my comments are not from someone who has no comparable hotel stays.

This is such a beautiful historic hotel, the main pool is small and with a full hotel because of a conference it was loud, dirty and unpleasant. The hotel needs some basic maintenance and upkeep in the older wing of rooms. There is limited options for food, especially dinner, either order from the bar or be seated at an upscale expensive restaurant. The spa area was dirty, 2 of the 3 showers were broken and some of the spa equipment did not work. Staff did not ask loud groups to keep noise down so other guests could enjoy the spa.

I was very disappointed. For a room that cost over $600 a night. The room was very small, and the view was of a roof top. The spa, in the hot tub there was loose dirt at the bottom. One would expect a place that charged $30 a person to use the pools would be exceptionally clean. The final disappointment was when entering the ladies changing room the was a panty liner laying 2 feet from the entrance.

Beautiful grounds and lobby. Staff friendly but we did have to wait a bit to check in. Our room, in the historic section, was nice but the bathroom was small. Aside from that it's a beautiful, clean hotel. We would stay again.

The walls are paper thin and we got a terrible couple next to us that made noise constantly from when we arrived and starting at 5:30 am. The hotel Manager was empathetic and said they would refund but it was a third party reservation. Hotels.com took care of this by contacting the hotel and working out a refund. This hotel needs a serious renovation for sound.

This was our second time staying at this property. It is has a wonderful location only 5 minutes from town and they provide shuttle service. Plenty of vineyards to visit near by, but the trip further north is well worth it! The property is lovely, suites are a bit dated but LOVED the fireplaces, balconies and large rooms. On site restaurant was amazing and the hot springs so enjoyable. There are tons of activities for families and fire pits all over the property.

We loved the spa, that entire experience was excellent. However, the overall hotel experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, the valet never came to greet us. We self parked, and took our multiple pieces of luggage through the valet area but yet they still never acknowledged us. We intended to dine at the restaurant on Friday night, but discovered it was booked out for a special event. The hotel should have sent guests a notice about this, but that was never communicated prior to our stay. After checking out, the valet area was once again over-crowded, we could barely pull our car in to load up because 3 construction trucks had pulled in. The room was supposed to be a premier room, we found it cramped and nothing more special than a nice Marriott. Overall, for a Fairmont property, this was quite unimpressive.

Rooms was extremely small. Old fan above bed. Just kept getting 2 towels and I got tired of asking for a few more. Spent one day at the spa but it felt like a production line/busy feeling. Women’s locker room needs to be remolded—things just looked well worn. Surprised how basic the bathroom was considering the services are very expensive. Pools in the spa were enjoyable. Outdoor seating is very nice with the many firepits to sit around at night. Concierge was very helpful and booked winery and golf for us.

We love the property as it is pet friendly. Service and staff are great, the food was very good. Our room, which was supposed to be a "Suite" was hardly that. A very large tub took up a significant amount of space and with the furniture, it was a tight fit. There was a cloth partition to the bathroom, otherwise there was no privacy. Shower lacked power. The mattress needs to be replaced and the pillows were not quality. Internet was spotty as well.

Front desk staff were less than helpful or welcoming. Called in beforehand to ensure they have electric vehicle chargers onsite and was told they do. Upon arrival, we learned that they only have Tesla chargers. When I mentioned not all EV owners have Tesla’s they suggested I get an adapter for my car. The area around the facility isn’t the best and the “resort” itself was just blah. They were less than accommodating for our early check-in request. Just asked for 1 hour earlier so we wouldn’t feel rushed to get to our event. They checked us in at 3:59PM. But they were adamant that checkout is at 10AM sharp no exceptions or extensions. All around this is not what I expect from a Fairmont hotel/resort. Disappointing. Won’t go back.

I have stayed here many times mostly for some girls trips. I decided to book a room to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my husband. Unfortunately I became extremely sick with covid and was unable to go, I understand there are cancellation policies however I had called to see if there was any way to move the date since I was sick. They were so rude about it and didn’t really seem to care and basically said too bad. If they couldn’t do anything I get it , but the lack of care or empathy was what was upsetting and has caused me to never want to go back here. There are plenty of spas to choose from I just won’t be returning here and will rebook my anniversary trip else where. We were pretty excited to celebrate our anniversary here since we got married 2 weeks before the pandemic shutdown we always like to do something special.

We loved the property and staff! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the room was perfect for us, although we did have a room very close to the lobby. We were concerned about noise but it ended up being very quiet. The only issue was when we walked off the property to dinner and the area isn’t the nicest.

The property is built in the mission architecture style that is warm and inviting. Staff was helpful whenever I had questions. There was wine tasting in the main building from one of the local vineyards that I hadn’t visited before. The wines were delicious and went to downtown Sonoma to buy. I ate in the bar and spa. Food was fresh and well prepared. What I think the property should add are walking gardens. We did get the massages at the spa. The spa features the warm mineral water from under the property. That was enjoyable to partake. What I think the property should invest in are walking gardens. The grounds are primarily just buildings (rooms, spa, main entrance) with outdoor pool and fire pit seating areas. Gardens would enhance the spa atmosphere. Sonoma downtown is about 2 miles from the property. We did walk to the downtown, but there are sections without sidewalk. So, the walk was not as pleasant as it could have been. I learned later that the hotel has a trolley to downtown. Overall, the hotel is in a beautiful location in a quiet setting.

The main pool was lovely and had a great bar and really good food, but the spa pool was terribly understaffed. The check in took a long time and they couldn’t access our Expedia reservation so we had to wait an extra 2 hours before we could get in our room. At Sante Azucena was a fabulous waitress and the food was great.

Beautiful property and rooms. The coffee truck was the only thing that was disappointing. My latte was $8 and it was not hot and not well made.....someone should do quality control there. However, your spa and pool staff were amazing....so welcoming and eager to please - including the woman running the spa cafe (red head).

The hotel itself is average, doesn’t seem to justify the rate per night BUT the spa is amazing both for facilities and Staff service . Would go back to the spa but not the hotel. The hotel is underwhelming- old building , musty smell, poor answering service(phone to front desk keeps ringing forever from the room) and shower fixture gets stuck. No slippers to use in the room but there’s robes) . There’s complimentary wine in the room. Afternoon wine reception nothing to be excited about, no complimentary snacks like other hotels . For the rate, you would think they are cut above the rest but nothing special here except the spa which is another extra expense not included in the hotel rate.

The pool was very family friendly, staff there were great! outdoor music and food truck were nice on Saturday. those are the high points. rest of stay definitely, not 5 star Overall, it looks like the hotel owner is trying to thrift all operations and maint. and the operator, Fairmont, is along for the ride. It made for a disappointing experience. Facilities are in big need of exterior maintenance. large rust stains on main building from the pool view and peeling paint on all the wood windows. Our room was a premium double queen w fireplace. the room was pie shape 9' wide at the windows, 15' at the door, really long so it had poor natural light. Sleeping room was updated, but the bathroom tub shower and tile nauseatingly busy and very poor quality, it was not renovated with the rest of the room. TP was like motel 6. Sante', the restaurant, had poor service at dinner and the food was sub par. My coffee at breakfast was $6 for a 12 oz cup. Boo.

The overall experience was excellent. We loved everything about the Fairmont Sonoma except the food. The quality of the food needs to better given the average rating of this hotel. Otherwise, a beautiful experience and I would definitely return to the Fairmont Sonoma.
