As for most hotels in Washington DC, parking was valet only. Thought overnite rate was a little high at $65 per night. Staff friendly and responsive.

The restaurant and bar are closed, which is fine there are plenty of restaurants in the area but they then they charge you and amenities fee and there are no amenities. Parking was $60 per day. You can find cheaper rates at the parking garage down the street from the hotel. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms. Good location.

Beacon was okay but has room for improve. The fitness center equipment was subpar. My floor didn’t have an ice machine. I didn’t like how you needed to buy a drink to go to the rooftop area.

They never posted that restaurant or bar was closed so there is no place to eat or drink. They advertise a rooftop bar which is not opened. The hotel is so loud you can hear everything outside all night. It was very hard to get your car from valet. We waited 35 minutes one morning because they had no staff on they gave me the keys to get it myself and told me I was responsible if I hit anything. When I went down it was boxed in by 4 others cars so I went back up and told the front desk and they said I had to wait for them to get staff there… 35 minutes later I got my car.

Front desk reception was consistently poor, conditions of rooms were poor. First room had a toilet that was noisy and didn’t stop running. After moving to a new room the 2nd rooms bathroom was dirty including toilet, sink and shower. I was brought wipes to clean. Rug had not been vacuumed in a while and room was dusty and grimy looking.

Good location and spacious rooms with OK beds but wouldn’t stay again. Overpowering smell of cleaner in elevator and hallways and room, like I was living inside a Tide laundry pod (so they were covering up what smells?) Felt allergic the whole time. Seriously old and dated and worn—to the point I laid a towel down on the sofa in the room before sitting down because that sofa looked 30 years used. Lumpy pillows. Bathroom had peeling paint and wallpaper and loose fixtures and embedded dirt and dust (see photos). The hotel looks wonderful on their website but in person it’s in desperate need of a deep clean and overhaul.

I never write reviews, but this place was AWFUL. I understand it wasn’t going to be luxurious but clean would have been nice. Dated rooms with dented up furniture. Visible damage on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, the room smelled like smoke, dusty and surfaces were covered in grime. I was only there for one night and I decided not to shower and wait until I got home because the room grossed me out so bad. The lobby also smelled like a dead animal was in the wall or something truly vile.

Very disappointed when we arrived! Nothing like the pictures! Very outdated! Mold in bathroom showers. Tile will soon fall off as it is separated from the wall some. We will not stay again at a Beacon Hotel

The property was very nice, the price was a bit high and it was the cheapest hotel in the area ($275 CAD) for 1 night. There was long black hair on the shampoo and conditioner bottles which was a little off putting because i have blonde hair so most definitely was not mine...there was also some hair area the bath tub area which again was not mine and was there upon arriving into our room. The bed was comfortable, the room was nice. The AC/heater is super touchy, we were either boiling hot in the room or freezing, there really wasnt any in between which was a bit disappointing. The staff was very friendly and the property itself was very nice and well kept.

Good location and comfy bed. Our room appeared to be updated with some potentially nice features, but it was poorly executed, specifically the bathroom: the shower head was really low (okay for me but not for 6 foot husband), the sliding door was broken/off slider, the shower handle was installed backwards, the vanity lighting was so dim and the shower light wouldn’t turn off, ever. Meh experience.

The air conditioner DID NOT work. I asked the front desk twice to look into it. One woman said the system was not working. We stayed for 4 nights and the room was almost unbearable as the temperature was in the high 70s every day. The room needs a complete update.

Huge room, but tiny bathroom. No where to put toiletries and no where to put shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The AC was ancient and either ran constantly or not at all. The solo coffee machine sounded like a jackhammer when making the tiniest cup of coffee. Bar staff were super friendly.

This hotel is in a great location but it is in desperate need of a remodel. Paint is peeling, finishes in the bathrooms are loose, and it’s just generally run down. They do have great coffee in the rooms. It’s also very noisy.

Fine for a one night stay. Cramped quarters and could be loud. Didn’t like the AC system, either you run it all night or turn off and get hot. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable but we slept a little. Water was coming out the sides of the faucets. Felt old and run-down. Not close to metro, at least a 10min walk which was fine for us but sometimes consider.

It was fine, definitely not as bad as some other reviews would have you believe. It is very dated, but that's not really an issue outside of the primitive door locks that are not receptive to the room card. They stay locked, but my door wouldn't open twice during my stay leading to the inconvenience of having to go back down to the front desk and get a new key. Troubling was that the front desk staff only asked my room number and name, but not for my ID when getting a new key card. This feels like a safety issue that should be addressed.

Nice hotel and location, check in process was painfully slow even though it was late in the night still did not expect to be that long of a process. Fire alarm went off at 2 am as well which isn't the hotels fault still just annoying

The restaurant and bar are closed, which is fine there are plenty of restaurants in the area but they then they charge you and amenities fee and there are no amenities. Parking was $60 per day. You can find cheaper rates at the parking garage down the street from the hotel. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms. Good location.

I've stayed here many times. I like the location and the staff are very pleasant especially the bell captain. My only complaint is that there is no room service or dinner restaurant and no bar/lounge. Otherwise I have enjoyed the Beacon in DC many times over the years.

This property's restaurant and rooftop bar were under construction. There was painting going on in the lobby. The hotel was musty and humid. Just overall out of date. The TV had very limited channels and the channels that were available froze up as if the TV was buffering. I would not stay here again

The front desk staff was very, engaging and helpful. The Hotel promoted a Sky Bar that was non operational (no active bar, limited access, and the elevator would not take you to the roof without you hunting down the manager). The restaurant had a limited menu. My first night, I ordered a Prime Rib (7-11-23) it was excellent ($48.00) on (7-16-23) I ordered the same Prime Rib, it was burned on one side, very hard to chew and almost raw ( I ordered medium rare as before), the meat was hard to cut and impossible to eat. The manager refused to comp the meal (steak only), so I paid $48.00 dollars for food I couldn't and didn't eat. Had to go an outside restaurant for my meal.

Convenient location for me and fairly near restaurants. HOWEVER, the attached restaurant to the hotel has been closed for more than two years, which was NOT mentioned in Hotels.com. This must be mentioned in future comments.

I can’t tell anyone how things were because I never got to see. We get there to check in and I’m told I have to pay an additional $85 deposit on top of the reservation I had already paid, nothing said on the website about that and I didn’t have that extra money to spend. So because of their policy and not putting it on their website ( which they admitted wasn’t on their website) myself and my daughter had to walk around DC all night long with no place to go because there was no other openings anywhere. So the hotel is cool with 2 women walking the streets of DC alone because they are greedy. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!

Even thought the hotel was going through renovations, it will still clean and the updates in the room were awesome. The view from my room was visibly pleasing and the staff was helpful.
