Everything was lovey. Was disappointing that the gym and arcade were closed and we didn’t know that until we checked in.

This was our first time here. The property is beautiful! The kids LOVED playing at the main pool, lagoon & other pool w/ pirate ship splash pad. Our only complaint is the water in all these areas is very warm except the pool by the pirate ship. Maybe when they build the new water slide area they will include a system that keeps the water cool & refreshing. Food & drinks were delicious but also expensive. We mostly ordered from the main pool tiki bar/grill. Jacob & Tomas from Turkey were so friendly & provided excellent service! We tried Salt & Ash for a nice fancy dinner & were not disappointed. Breakfast in the cafe always had a long line so be prepared. They accidentally had us listed as taking our food to go even though we did not request that. They gave us a number to place on our table but the food never came out & sat at the counter forever until we finally inquired as to the wait. We assumed it was taking long bc they were so busy. So that was a bit disappointing. We had the family oasis room w/ bunk beds which was perfect for us. There isn’t a view (looks out to the back of a building), but that didn’t bother us since we were barely in our room. Beds were comfortable, the AC was cold & the shower hot. We spent 3 nights there & didn’t leave the property except for one time to have dinner at Lazy Days in Islamorada which was so good. Though there are some areas that can be improved, overall we had a wonderful trip & look forward to coming back.

Great resort with an adult only pool and several hot tubs. We will be back!

Beautiful property for young families. We rented a villa which was perfect for our needs. The pool in the backyard is a huge plus. The lagoon in Maine pool can get a bit crowded so get there early for a spot. Overall, the facilities were very clean. Landscaping every single day. They keep the grounds in top condition. We had a couple of minor issues and the staff were very attentive in addressing this for us. It's a very quiet tranquil area. Great for kids. We will definitely be returning!

Easy drive from highway. Beautiful resort with an adult pool and lanai rooms. Saltwater lagoon for kayaking and snorkeling. Dolphins are an added bonus! Enjoyed our stay.

Good: dolphin connection, pools, available activities, food at tiki bar, greeters, nice shower and bathroom, concept of bracelet keys Not so great-bracelet keys quit working frequently, toilet wouldn't flush one night all night, sofa bed very uncomfortable, property too bif to get aroind on foot, golf carts not always available, parking far away, ice not working in our area.

So got the room with a view and end up having a view of trees and construction equipment(have pictures).Also had a noisy generator running 24/7 outside our room and had to leave the tv on at night to sleep to drown away the generator noise. Now on to the resort the Pilar bar and main restaurant/bar were closed due to renovation along with the fitness center. If I was notified before my arrival I would have stayed somewhere else. Could have stayed at a condo for a 1/3 of the price. Food at the pool Was good and the pool Staff friendly. When asked to speak with a manager they were not there and asked for a call back before I left this review and have not heard from anyone.

Love the view and variety of pools . Dont like that there is really no beach access.dont like that pools close at around 8 pm.

The Lagoon is great. Very unique. I loved the poolside room we had. It made our stay very convenient. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because... the pools, adult pool included, closed at sunset. To me that's just not ok. It's nice to enjoy the pool and hot tub at night. Also, the food items at the tiki bar and cafe are waaay over priced...even for a resort. We also had to pay $25/day to SELF-park! We weren't able to get into our room until almost 5pm. The tv in the room didn't work. The resort is very nice and has a lot to offer and do, but not sure I'll go back.

The carpet in the hall was very dirty and had a bad smell. The hot tub did not have working jets for the two days we were there.

Balcony was dirty The room wasn’t clean right the next day they didn’t make our bed didn’t come in for service. Very poor management. Don’t wanna talk to you. It’s very poor. I’ve never go there again nor what I recommend anyone just horrible

I booked and prepaid weeks in advance for what was supposed to be a surprise birthday celebration, expecting a smooth and memorable stay. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. To begin with, none of the birthday in room experiences purchased in advance were completed. Manager stated that they don’t deliver in room experiences until after check in which is completely opposite of what I was told multiple times when purchasing over the phone. On top of that, the room wristbands didn’t work—not once, but twice—forcing me to waste time going up and down from the room to the front desk to get them fixed. A small issue, but when you’re on vacation trying to relax, it adds unnecessary frustration. The room had multiple roaches—completely unacceptable for a resort of this supposed caliber. Cleanliness clearly isn’t a priority. This was supposed to be a special getaway, and instead, it was a series of letdowns. I expected much better from a resort with Hawks Cay’s reputation. Will not be returning.

Been going to this place for several years. I stayed in the room closest to the pool. The smell of the carpet was horrible. Did not sleep because of the smell. For a room thats 921.. did not expect that. Very disappointed.

Checked in Thursday around dinner time for a three night stay. Lobby not busy at all and yet check-in desk attendant unfriendly and unhelpful to the point had to return to the desk to get directions to the room as their handwriting was illegible and we got no direction from them. Dropped bags and went to the tiki bar to relax and have a drink. Two other guests with full drinks at the bar and two bartenders essentially doing nothing. Ordered a glass of wine and was told out of the three wines on the menu they only had one but was told if I "really wanted it he could go into the inside bar and get it". Considering two bartenders and essentially no customers that should not have even been a question let alone posed rudely. Got to the room only to discover a large toenail clipping at the end of the entrance hallway on the floor. After two days of maid service it remained in the same spot! Check in night got into the shower only to find the entire soap/shampoo/conditioner rack had fallen off the wall and on top of that soap dispenser did not work. Spoke to the manager that night and was only told yes "that should not have happened" about everything above. I expected maybe to hear something in follow up however checked out Sunday morning with no acknowledgment of anything, still no soap, but toenail present. On the plus side beautiful property, food at main restaurant very good and good service there. Unfortunately very poor service otherwise. Cannot recommend this property.

The property strives to be visually beautiful, but falls short. There was garbage all around the grounds no matter where you were. Our bathroom door would not slide as intended, which disturbed sleep in the night, the room was incredibly loud from hallway noise, and there were multiple cockroaches in our room. The music by the pool was too loud and frequently lost signal. The staff is friendly and helpful; a blessing when the property isn’t what you hoped it would be. After our stay, I cannot recommend it.

Room was dirty

This property was miss represented . I booked this very exspensive resort 1500.00 dollars for two nights by your description and pictures of the two bedroom villa for my family and was embarrassed . To start, it was extremely dirty. Not maintained and all the funiture, lamps, etc were in disarray. The carpets had urine stains all over them. The curtains were stained and all the hardwear was rusted out. I can go on but I will save it for your representative. The pictures in your ad are not even close to what our unit looked like. We had unit 5048 for you recordes. There was garbage dumpsters outside our door that were overflowing and smelled like a dump. I should have taken more pictures to show you. All the funiture from our neighbors unit was on there patio and sat there all weekend including roleaway beds , matresses. It was more like visiting the projects. I expect to be compensated for this problem. This was more like 100.00 dollor a night property verses the 700.00 per night I payed. You embarrassed me in front of my entire family. Poor cleaning

This is our fourth trip there and every time we go the property looks older dirtier and just not worth the money it is not $1000 a room and night hotel

We are regulars at Hawks Cay. We usually love staying there. However, this time we were very disappointed with the level of service (particularly housekeeping) and with the room we were given. We booked the Family Oasis room because we are a family of 4 and it was very spacious with a King and a bunk bed. However when we got there we realized the room has no view (it overlooks at the service and maintenance area), with no balcony. The room is extremely dark, had to keep light on even during the day. Not particularly what I was looking for in a trip to the Keys. On our previous stays we went to rooms that had a balcony and overlooked either the garden or the water and we enjoyed spending time there in the evenings. When we asked if there was another room like ours with a view or balcony we were told that all Family Oasis have the same “view” (maintenance area/no balcony). Also, housekeeping left a lot to be desired. All 3 nights we had to request to have the bunk beds done (they would only put the sheet that covers the mattress and nothing else). One day they didn’t even leave us towels, I had to go to the front desk when we came back at night to get towels for the family to take a shower. I was told that they prioritize the rooms that are checking in Finally, even though they charge a $55/day resort fee you still have to pay separate for everything (to play pickleball you have to pay $10 per paddle per person). Not sure we will be coming back unfortunately.

Pools are great! The outside areas are all good. The room was comfortable. We loved our view, overlooking the ocean! The bathroom, towels, and other items were okay. The TV was frustrating.

Really a great place for families to stay in the Keys. We were here in peak season (spring break) and found it difficult to find chairs by the pool or lagoon. The wifi was really poor in our lodgings. The villa was clean and comfortable but a bit dated. I loved that they offered on site activities- we were able to enjoy the dolphin experience and the snorkeling adventure. Onsite restaurants were very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great central location if you want to travel between Islamorada, Marathon and middle Keys. The resort itself is very nice & clean but the common areas are a bit smaller than I thought. It boosts of amenities like kayaks and paddles boards (which they do have) but you only get to go around a small contained lagoon area which is pretty boring. Nice for kids, not so much for adults. The pools are nice but nothing special. We stayed in room 4208 and unfortunately discovered immediately that we could hear conversations VERY clearly in room 4210 and other noise that you wouldn't expect to hear so audibly at a $500/night resort. Getting sleep was also challenging due to the AC that sounds like a freight train. If you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs or sleep aids! We ventured out every day so the resort, for us, didnt offer a lot of amenities that made us want to stick around. We got one meal from the Tiki Bar and a couple drinks; very over priced and not that good. I recommend leaving the resort and check out places off site. Island Fish Co and Burdines were great! For the price point this just didnt hit the mark for us.

We liked that everything was in walking distance from our villa. The cleanliness of resort and friendliness of the staff was great. What we didn’t like was that a freezer was never fixed properly and the queen bed was terribly uncomfortable. The tv in the second bedroom we were never able to get to work due to not being able to access the proper channel. The hot water ran out in the shower after one shower which was a downfall when you have more than one person to get ready. Overall very nice resort, just a few things that would have worked better for our family.

Hawks Cay was great for the most part: nice rooms, well updated lobby, great restaurant options, and pool/beach activities. A couple of negatives: the walls and doors are VERY thin. I could hear our neighbors entire conversations when they came in late at night. Very disappointing that a hotel that recently upgraded would not fix this issue. Bathroom sliding doors did not completely close, which was an issue with our teenager sharing our room. Finally, we did not get maid/towel service our last day and had to call for fresh towels. If a guest is staying three nights, at least one maid service is expected.

Liked the adult pool. Disliked poor noise insulation in room. Could hear toilets flushing throughout night, snoring in next room, and babies crying. Drinks were over priced. Breakfast buffet for two was $82 for average buffet without an omelette station. Dinner at their restaurant was just average.

There was a loud banging from our hotel air conditioner that made it impossible to sleep for the 4 nights we were there. We were exhausted the whole time.

Extremely limited wifi and staff is not too friendly nor helpful. Rooms need TLC. Activities close at 5 pm. Limited food venues and you will need reservations.

Limited staff, pool area durty carpets in room smelked awful , water stains in room ceiling, broken lamps in room. I have been coming here for 15 years and i must say the service and quality has deteriorared completely.

Nice place, bad customer service

Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.

1. We arrived early and was told that we will be texted when room was available, after 7 pm, when we returned after dinner, the receptionist said that we didn’t get a text because the room wasn’t available until just then. Then we were told to go to the wrong floor. Then one of the 2 key bracelets did not work. 2. Have to request for housekeeping (that is ok): but no one answers the phone. And the reception desk & concierge desk were unmanned for a long time 3. Terrible WiFi that cannot sustain conference streaming or to watch a missed lecture For $55 daily resort fee, they charged for pickleball paddles.

The VIP benefit should have been given on check in and with more explanation. Didn’t realize discount was for ALL food and drink pitches and not just a one time use. Could have saved a BUNCH of money. First experience with valet/bellman was not pleasant but after that they were great. Convenient having access keys on bracelets. Also convenient having golf cart drivers to take to spa and marina instead of walking or driving. $25 per car per day seems a little extreme considering parking is a walk away from the resort. Posed a challenge with rain storms. Was hoping for more areas that allowed fishing from the shore. Only one area of the resort that allowed fishing. All in all, this is a great place to be pampered and live the Keys life for a while.

The staff was amazing

The resort is stunning and unique, but staff professionalism needs improvement. Check-in took 38 minutes, and some staff lacked enthusiasm. Morning shift bartender (from Turkey) had an incredibly bad attitude. Service isn’t always welcoming.

We had issues with our room but the Manager Brad more than stepped up to the plate to resolve it and made our time there memorable and special in what it a fabulous family resort in the Keys. The resort is extremely person centred and friendly for family with an abundance of things to do.

The tiki bar outside had some amazing bartenders and staff. Anthony, Jude, and Radar were not only extremely friendly and helpful they made our stay even more fun than it already was! The main downside is that there is no room service in the room so it is pretty difficult to get food. The valet staff at the front was also very unhelpful when I asked someone to help me with my luggage up to my room. I had to get all of my own luggage up to my room with my young child on my own. The pools close as soon as the sun goes down which is also another downside. The dolphins are amazing Emily and Maria were absolutely the best at the dolphin connection!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It has great views and very relaxing . drinks and food was good too. Only issues we had was trying to get Ubers from there to other islands. Would highly recommend renting a car . It’s a great resort to stay to get away from. everyday life.

Property had everything we needed and was centrally located for any day trips up and down the keys. Pool staff was awesome and the area didn’t feel crowded. A highlight was being able to swim with the dolphins.

This is our 3rd time staying at Hawks Cay and we can’t speak highly enough about the resort, and its staff. It is the perfect middle point in the keys - providing you with the ability to explore north and south. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We accidentally left a life jacket on a chair near the marketplace and it was still there the following morning! It is clean, safe and perfect for families traveling with small children. We CANNOT wait to be back again! My only tiniest complaint would be that it cost $42 for 2 margaritas- where back in 2022 it was $30. Needless to say, that was the only time we had a drink by the pool. Otherwise a truly amazing experience yet again.

Great stay! Very clean room, awesome pool. And duck key is a great spot to be located to explore the keys as well.

The only complaint I can have, as the hotel staff and facilities are wonderful, are the lack of food options in the evening. The on property restaurant is beautiful, but not suitable for dining every night, especially when travelling with young kids or teens. Therefore, you're forced to drive at least 15 mins to go off site to eat. There is a good place around the corner, but, again, who wants to eat there every night? The hotel, itself, the staff, grounds, pools , landscaping etc., get my thumbs up!

Staff is very pleasant, room was very clean. The water in the main pool was totally cloudy, the food sold at the tiki bar is not really good. The salt water lagoon was not as nice as pictured, a few minutes after entering the water my legs started burning, and in the morning some guests allowed their pets to play in the water, I didn’t find that very appropriate. The breakfast at the cafe was delicious, very pricy breakfast but worth it! The Salt and ash michellin chef restaurant is spectacular but only opens for dinner so u have no other option but to eat at the tiki bar and the lunch is not so great. Overall its a very chill weekend, but I feel like its a one time thing, where I got to know the resort but don’t find it worth returning. We didn’t really find any other nice restaurants in the area. I would still recommend ppl to have their own experience and if you enjoy just chilling in the pool you will enjoy this resort.

The hotel claimed that there were 6 restaurants and that they would be open until 10. There were only 2 "restauranrs" at the resort which were just tikki huts that served food. They had one real restaurant "on the property" but you had to take a golf cart, car or walk 15 minutes there. The website claimed the pools were open until 10 but closed at dusk, 5:30. The hotel claimed to have 5 pools but we only found 2. Staff was nice and hotel was clean but so disappointed in the false advertising.

Started trip with a little trouble checking in. That got straightened out. They said i got an upgrade, not sure what it was. Room was ok, had a balcony that overlooked the parking lot. Both pools were nice, but area not kept very clean. A lot of debris from trees around both pools. Service at the adult pool was non existent. The main restaurant on site was closed most of the stay.

Absolutely beautiful top of the line place to stay. But super expensive per night, and food and drinks were super high prices. $20plus burgers, $20plus mixed drinks, served by a crabby waitress.
