It didn’t have washer and dryers on the property. They share a pool with the Best Western next door.

Need security lights in parking lot. It was completely dark

We did not know that the pool next door at the Best Western was shared with Sleep Inn until we checked out. Ice machine on our floor was out the whole week.

Stay was comfortable but place does not reflect what the pictures show. It was clean but Hotel needs an overhaul. It’s past time. Some of personnel need a better attitude. Felt like they were being bothered. Had issues with remote for tv the first night and they acted like it was our fault then gave us a remote that was falling apart and still did not work. Next day finally got a different one that worked. No room service unless you ask for it which we were not told that at check in. Not able to use the shared pool with the hotel next door. It closed day after we got there. It was about as green as a lime. We had been out all day and were looking forward to a refreshing swim. NOT!

Not much to like about this property. Not clean outside of the beds. Mold in bathrooms and hallways. Had to use the neighboring hotel for a pool that was not in great condition and was sent on a treasure hunt to find towels. The breakfast was not desirable, lack of variety and not well kept. Full of employee families for the free food. Keep an eye on what you are charged, they will overcharge. Would never recommend this place.

Everyone was super nice, super clean property, beautiful and clean room. Washer/dryer was at next door property.

The only parking lot located in the back of the hotel was VERY dark, and as a female traveling by myself I felt unsafe. There were people sitting in the dark in work trucks and regular cars, so it felt eerie. When I was unpacking my car to enter the hotel I felt like I had to make a mad dash to the entrance. If there were more quality lights in the parking lot I would have felt a little more at ease. The elevator at this location was very old and you could feel it rattle while it made concerning noises. There was a bad odor on the first floor and it kind of smelt like mold and stale cleaning solution. The staff was nice and answered the phone when I called them from my room. The AC worked properly, and the towels and sheets in my room were fresh.

Front desk staff were very nice and polite. I wish they could off told me the pool was under construction when I did my reservation. Room was very clean. The fan didn't work but the AC was cold.

The pool was not working despite of 30-33 degree Celsius. Many things (ceiling fan, outlet) were simply not working, and the carpeted floor was extremely dirty. The overall smell of the hotel was weird, and particularly bad in the room. The smell appeared to be coming through the A/C system and its origin being unknown was extremely concerning. The A/C unit was dirty and looked unmaintained. The breakfast was same all morning during our 5 day stay. Compared to the quality, the rate is high.

This hotel stunk and was not clean at all. The elevator and hallways were littered with trash. The room's air conditioning barely worked. The bathtub hadn't been cleaned. If I hadnt been desperate, I would have never stayed there.

Absolutely FILTHY there was dust covering the walls the room and hallways smelled like pee the floor in the room was sticky I was very disappointed and left a day early

I’m not one to complain about hotels however, mold was found on the mattress in our room (not surprising as it always felt damp in the room.) Socks became filthy after walking around on the floors. If you’re going to charge upwards of $200/night, there should be more attention to the cleanliness of the rooms, hallways, etc.

It was stank in there. It smells like mildew. Anyone can easily get sick in there . The curtain has mold on there as well.

Dirty, cockroaches

A lot of repairs need to be made and they barely did the bare minimum for cleaning. The outlets and exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. There were stains on the bathroom wall and on room curtains. We had to check every floor for a working ice machine. Then, to top off the stay I was charged for an extra night without authorization and they were unable to tell me why. New management could really improve this place.

The room was so dirty and old, elevator smelled like pee. Everything about it was terrible, there was socks from someone else in our room, shower had a very strong smell of mold, the ceiling was so dirty with dust it looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in years, carpet dirty and smells. The only ok thing was the beds. I was with two small kids and had two days reservation and had to find somewhere else to stay the next day. I understand we were looking for an affordable option just for a couple days but this place was no good at all. Employees were very nice about my complains and very polite.

Our room smelled musty. There was a very saturated moldy looking ceiling tile on the first floor. The ice machine on the first floor obviously leaked as there was a towel haphazardly thrown on the floor. The shower had dirt and hair in the corners of the door. The bathroom was very small.

Property was old and needed updated and cleaned. Visible dirt/mold on air duct vents. Ceiling tiles broken and uneven. We stayed for 4 days and housekeeping never cleaned our room. We reported it every day. We were told on the 2nd day that they clean stayovers every three days. After the third day of no service, we again reported it and were told that housekeeping service must be requested. I worked in hotels for 10 years and have never heard of this. And if this was a thing, we complained every day we stayed that we didn’t get housekeeping service. Why wouldn’t we be put on the list? Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else!

It was quiet and comfortable. The shower door leaked and water would get all over the floor if it wasn’t closed just right. The bathroom was small and the sink was outside the bathroom which was kind of inconvenient. Overall it was safe and quiet which is the most important thing.

Room spacious, breakfast pretty good

Quiet, decent room, comfy beds. There was a little mildew in the shower and the furniture was a bit shabby, but overall it was still a good stay. I wish there were more than one elevator, though.

The TV reception was very poor. Kept getting "no reception" the whole time. Sink drained very slowly. Bathroom was tiny.

This is an older building with significantly smaller rooms than other Sleep Inns. The shower is extremely small and luggage does not fit anywhere.

Room was very bad. Bed was broken. Metal rods sticking out.

Overall the property was fine. However the toilet ran the entire time, and there was only one washcloth in the room and they only had one more when I asked. I wasn't expecting the bathroom to be directly off the bedroom (meaning the door opens towards the bed) so that was unusual. But it was conveniently located and quiet.

-Floors on 3rd floor were shaking felt like an earth quake very unstable. -No bathroom door -shower very small barely can get into it -bathroom Sink is in room by bed few inches from bed -Mattress uncomfortable sunk all the way in -Carpet need replacing hall and rooms -Elevator dirty -Parking is insecure -3rd floor smelt like mold and mildew

Room was clean and the bed was ok. Good location. TV didn’t with the first night. The phone didn’t work to try and set up a wake up call. Alarm clock wasn’t working. Calling fan didn’t work.

The staff did not make me feel welcome. The breakfast was understaffed and very empty of food by 9:20am.

Front desk staff were unfriendly. And were literally sleeping at the desk when we checked in at 10:15 on a Friday nigh . Rooms werer small and need to be redone. The hotel was so poorly lit from the outside we thought the hotel was closed or out of business.

After driving all day we were met by the least friendly customer service person at the front desk (older lady not younger person) who told us check in started at 3 ( it was 2:45) and that was it. Nothing else. When we went back to the desk at 3, she took my key and handed me my key. No info provided as to any hotel services such as brkfst hrs, Wi-Fi password,amenities etc. The ground floor room were assigned was directly beside the side exit door so we were kept awake almost all night by people hitting the crash bar to go in and out to smoke,drink or just simply go to their car in the rear parking lot. The room and the hotel for that matter was old,tired,worn and stale (it smelled bad and smoky despite the non smoking policy). The outside landscaping upkeep was poor and the basket in the designated dog cleanup area had no bags and didn’t look like it had been emptied in at least a week. I use a lot of these I-95 adjacent hotels ( this one being further inland) a this is easily the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I could go on and on including getting no room service on a two night stay, one roll of toilet paper, two washcloths,and one small hotel size bar of soap ( no body wash is provided) but you get the point. We were very dissatisfied.

I never experienced in any hotels like what I have experienced last night July 15. I arrived to SLEEP IN in West Ashley at 9:45pm, a lady in the front desk name Nickie (Manager). My reservation was in No show in the system & according to her she doesn’t know why and it says as per Expedia she can refund me the amount of $98 even I paid $129 to expedia. Nickie asked to contact Expedia even though in my app it is still active. I contacted Expedia, explained to them what’s going on & told me they will call the property. I said no one will answer you because she was gone from the desk for about 20-30mins while other guests was also waiting for her. When I approached her again to double check if the hotel confirmation that expedia gave me is the same in their system, she said yes. She asked me to pay the property rate for me to be accommodated because that’s the only solution she can do. What upset me, why a manager will be irritated and tell me “DO NOT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB!” and I responded Excuse me, I am not here to teach no one and for sure you know how to do your job. On top of that, to tell me that I even barely understand her ENGLISH. Like WOW! That’s not how a manager should act and speak. And to the management, I didn’t curse Nickie like what was told to my husband in the morning when he called the property. Nickie doesn’t have the customer service at all, I have to rebooked my hotel to Marriott who has the standard and who knows on how to speak to a guests.

Locked out of the room for over an hour until they finally figured out how to get it open. Missed an excursion due to this. No hot water in the ahower. Double charged for my room 3 days after and was treated rudely and lied to when i called to ask about it. Worst hotel experience ever.

I will not be returning ro this hotel. You get what you pay for. I arrived at 4 pm on a thursday. I checked in but did not go up to room, i was running late to meet peopl. Upon my arrival at 9 pm, i went to my room with my two large cases to find the room not cleaned from the previous guest. I went to front desk that told me there was noone from house keeping to clean it, would i like to cancel my reservation. I said no i wanted another room. I was given another room which the keys did not work so i had to make another trip to the front desk. Finally got into my room at 9:30. It smelled very musty, super tired looking, the second security lock was missing. Even though i asked to have fixed, they "could not". I asked for daily house keeping, they showed up 2 out of 4 days. The buffet room area was filthy. Your shoes stuck to the floor. The entire hotel needs to be throughly cleaned. The buffet was all pre packaged muffins, 1 type of ceral. 1 type of fruit. The cream cheese and butter was frozen. I eould actually shoe pictures, but it is not letting me add them.

Easy check in. Difficult getting cart through double doors. Staff very nice.

The front staff was useless. They were on their phones the whole time and charged me for housekeeping without telling me there was a charge and then they never came to clean. Then our room just was not clean feeling, the walls were dirty and a stain on the carpet was gross. When I asked the front to refund the charge for the housekeeping since they never came they said they would and never did. I asked again when I left but never got an itemized bill to show what they charged me for in the first place. I tried to by water from the vending machine and it was out so I asked the front desk (two people both on their cell phones with ear buds in) if they had any bottles of water I could have and the one girl looked up from her phone and said there was another vending machine on the third floor. The other guy just went back to his phone. We were staying on the first. That was pathetic. The breakfast was extremely lacking and and even the bread for toast was stale. There is not good lighting in the back where you park and it feels unsafe. I will never be back.

Conviniently located near the beach, and great price for the area!

I would definitely go back to this location and have already saved it in my memos for future trips to Charleston. The location is fantastic and the price is right. The bed was super comfy as well as the pillows. I loved having the ceiling fan since I felt like I was at home. It has your basic continental breakfast-waffles, pancakes, cereal, fruit, yogurt which was fine. It is a very quiet place and had black out curtains to take a good nap:-) Definite revisit:-)

All good except Hwy 17 very, very busy during rush hour and was challenging to get into traffic

Pleased with quick check in & room is nice clean . Even though on a busy road hotel is nice and quiet. Staff we interacted with have been pleasant and knowledgeable. Will stay again

Convenient location

Good location, accessibility and cleanliness.

15 minute drive to historic district of Charleston. If you want an affordable hotel and don't want to pay the prices of the hotels in the historical district, this is it. Clean, good breakfast, helpful staff.

I love the outlook and location

Nice accomdations with breakfast at a.good price. Conveniently located outside of Charlston center.

We had a great stay. The place was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms are small but have everything you need.It was close and easy to get to the historical downtown district. We would stay again.

The property was not very crowded, in pretty good shape. Room worked great. We had to walk next door to the Best Western for breakfast, but Veronica, who managed the breakfast area next door was top notch!

Don’t get negative reviews. Great room, quiet ac, comfortable beds/pillows, nice towels, great shower, and fan in bathroom which is very unusual. Also ceiling fan in bedroom- amazing! Asked for waters and were not charged for them. We were directed to breakfast at Best Western next door which was a bit odd but not a big deal.

They post that breakfast ends at 9:30. It does not .. they block it off at whatever time they want to start cleaning .. I rushed down at 9:13 & shop was closed.. big fail

We enjoyed our stay. Many options for breakfast.

The breakfast was presented nicely, but you need to have real eggs, and the sausage needs to be sautéed/steamed. Add some grits and some cheese.

The unique quality was the mature foliage of the property but we did not like that it was so poorly kept. The fountain didn't work, leaves were in the foliage, a metal chair was broken and one our beds was not clean with dirt and hairs in it. Also the breakfast consisted of powdered eggs and processed meat.

The property is in rough shape, smelly, dirty and with patches of diffeent color paint on the hallways. thankfully the inside of the rooms were in better condition and cleaner. Breakfast was good

Free breakfast was good. Bagels, toast, waffle maker, coffee, milk, juices, 2 types of cereals, eggs and sausage. Also prepackaged pastries. First room, yep…bathroom door was stuck in the wall (pocket door) and wouldn’t move. Toilet seat was half delaminated making it look uncomfortable to sit on. Room 409 We were sent to a different room across the hall, room 408. This room, everything was fine except the air conditioner seemed to be dying. It was mostly the fan running. Had to put it down to 61 degrees for the compressor to turn on, and then it would only run for a few minutes and then shut off. So it made the room cool for about 3 minutes and then it would get muggy in there. We didn’t let the manager know because we were tired and didn’t want to switch rooms again. The ceiling had dust bunnies attached to the popcorn that danced when the ceiling fan was turned on. Also a broken drawer handle. But we didn’t use the drawer. Ok, now for the good parts…THE BED!! It was so comfortable! Plenty of pillows. Sheets and blankets and towels were great, too. And very quiet. Good free breakfast, feee parking, and everything was clean except the ceiling needed to be dusted. It’s an old hotel but it was economical for us and close to MUSC, which was the reason for our trip.
