Impressive building, right on the seafront, nice character. Really lovely staff and service. Nice decor in the rooms, furnished to a high standard, big beds, nice linen and many pillows! We were kindly upgraded (bc Gold Hotels.com member?) to a sea view room, which was lovely. Despite the rain getting in and soaking the carpet by the French windows (just an upkeep issue). The spa is really nice, vaulted ceilings, impressive reception area that you pass through. Good sauna and steam room. Not sure about the salt room, wasn't very warm? Pool area could do with a bit of TLC, starting to show wear and tear. There was some brown slime on the edge of the seats in the hammam 😬. Decent bar area with good cocktail selection and snacks. You pay for the location, prestige and building, but it's nice and the reception and spa staff were really lovely.

Tres bon hôtel En face de l ocean tout est parfait Des vrais plus : - emplacement face ocean - le petit dejeuner extraordinaire en terrasse - le spa avec piscine à remous chauffe haman… Deux points à ameliorer - la grotte de sel hs - le restaurant. La jeune serveuse est charmante la nourriture bien mieux qu il y a deux ans. Tres bon dessert mais un point que j avais jamais vue on vous presente une premiere carte des vins manifestement pour «\xa0américains\xa0» avec des coefficients multiplicateurs au niveau des 3 etoiles parisiens Il faut demander l autre carte pour avoir la totalite des propositions Enfin un carton rouge : Lors de mon sejour l alarme incendie se declenche et la a ma grande surprise le personnel du spa ne fait pas evacuer Je leur demande Reponse on sait pas il y a pas de responsable mais elle sonne souvent pour rien Lunaire ! Quand une alarme se déclenche a plus forte raison quand on ne sait pas on fait evacuer

They advise as Thalasso, but it is not sea water. It is a pool with jets. The Spa area had better days… the Himalaya salt sauna and ice fountain not working. The pool water a bit cold, few places to rest and bad maintenance In the rooms the pillows wore terrible, the tower rack not working in hole hotel ( so our swimming clothes and towels dont dry) and they turn of the air conditioner at night, just leave the fan, so in October I couldn’t sleep I’ve stayed in this hotel before, and was much better.

La piscina no tenia chorros de agua exteriores, agua no muy caliente y camas sin calor. El baño de la habitacion super pequeño, lavabo, wc y ducha q no corresponde a un 5 estrellas. Los trabajadores super agradables

Hotel is right on the beach. The location is very good. A little outdated but fine. The pool is indoor, the spa was ok, I had a good massage. We don’t eat dinner there, but lunch was very good.

Hotel deserves its five star rating. Rooms are really attractive, location is right on the beach, staff are friendly and efficient. The sea water swimming pool is a real bonus. We loved drinks on the terrace at sunset.

No es un hotel de cinco estrellas, muy viejo, muebles rotos y pegados, nos pusieron en la habitacion de minusvalidos donde la ducha es todo el baño. Muy mal y el spa..... una piscina vieja que tambien sirve como almacen de bicis de gimnasio en mal estado

Notre séjour a été tout simplement parfait. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec chaleur et professionnalisme. Le service tout au long du séjour a été irréprochable : personnel attentif, réactif et toujours souriant. Chaque demande a été prise en compte rapidement. Mention spéciale pour la directrice, qui est d’une gentillesse et d’un grand professionnalisme. Elle est présente, à l’écoute de ses clients et veille à ce que chaque détail soit parfait. Le spa est un véritable havre de paix : les installations sont magnifiques, parfaitement entretenues, et ma praticienne est d’un professionnalisme remarquable. Chaque soin est un vrai moment de détente et de bien-être, réalisé avec douceur et expertise. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour avoir rendu ce nouveau séjour parfait. Nous reviendrons (encore ☺️) sans hésitation !

Gorgeous hotel on the waterfront - the most impressive in Saint Jean de Luz, with a nice (simple) spa. The staff are the highlight - effortlessly efficient & totally capable - from the (handsome) door men to the amazing receptionist, capable maids & talented masseuse. The whole hotel was immaculately presented, including the room. My only disappointment was that the room was far too hot without the window open, and much too noisy with it open. So I didn’t sleep as well as I could have. This was a city facing room.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Saint-Jean-de-Luz ! L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait, avec une vue splendide sur les plages. La chambre était spacieuse, décorée avec goût, et mention spéciale pour les rideaux et stores occultants : nous avons dormi comme des bébés ! Tout était très agréable et soigné. Impressive building, right on the seafront, nice character. Really lovely staff and service. Nice decor in the rooms, furnished to a high standard, big beds, nice linen and many pillows! We were kindly upgraded (bc Gold Hotels.com member?) to a sea view room, which was lovely. Despite the rain getting in and soaking the carpet by the French windows (just an upkeep issue). The spa is really nice, vaulted ceilings, impressive reception area that you pass through. Good sauna and steam room. Not sure about the salt room, wasn't very warm? Pool area could do with a bit of TLC, starting to show wear and tear. There was some brown slime on the edge of the seats in the hammam 😬. Decent bar area with good cocktail selection and snacks. You pay for the location, prestige and building, but it's nice and the reception and spa staff were really lovely.

Friendly and attentive staff without being intrusive. Rooms are small but comfortable. Nice amenities - robes/slippers, spa access, towel warming rack in bathroom, Nespresso and electric kettle in room, with chocolates delivered nightly.

Gorgeous hotel on the waterfront - the most impressive in Saint Jean de Luz, with a nice (simple) spa. The staff are the highlight - effortlessly efficient & totally capable - from the (handsome) door men to the amazing receptionist, capable maids & talented masseuse. The whole hotel was immaculately presented, including the room. My only disappointment was that the room was far too hot without the window open, and much too noisy with it open. So I didn’t sleep as well as I could have. This was a city facing room.

Hotel deserves its five star rating. Rooms are really attractive, location is right on the beach, staff are friendly and efficient. The sea water swimming pool is a real bonus. We loved drinks on the terrace at sunset.

This is a beautiful property in a lovely location. The beach is easily accessible and the terrace is lovely. The standard room was the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. AC not particularly effective.

Tres bon hôtel En face de l ocean tout est parfait Des vrais plus : - emplacement face ocean - le petit dejeuner extraordinaire en terrasse - le spa avec piscine à remous chauffe haman… Deux points à ameliorer - la grotte de sel hs - le restaurant. La jeune serveuse est charmante la nourriture bien mieux qu il y a deux ans. Tres bon dessert mais un point que j avais jamais vue on vous presente une premiere carte des vins manifestement pour «\xa0américains\xa0» avec des coefficients multiplicateurs au niveau des 3 etoiles parisiens Il faut demander l autre carte pour avoir la totalite des propositions Enfin un carton rouge : Lors de mon sejour l alarme incendie se declenche et la a ma grande surprise le personnel du spa ne fait pas evacuer Je leur demande Reponse on sait pas il y a pas de responsable mais elle sonne souvent pour rien Lunaire ! Quand une alarme se déclenche a plus forte raison quand on ne sait pas on fait evacuer

Para ser un hotel de 500€ la noche deja mucho que desear el servicio de recepción y en especial el restaurante en el servicio de comida y cena. El spa esta poco cuidado y el resto es ok. el desayuno es bueno, no se si para 35€ por persona pero esta bien.

Notre séjour a été tout simplement parfait. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec chaleur et professionnalisme. Le service tout au long du séjour a été irréprochable : personnel attentif, réactif et toujours souriant. Chaque demande a été prise en compte rapidement. Mention spéciale pour la directrice, qui est d’une gentillesse et d’un grand professionnalisme. Elle est présente, à l’écoute de ses clients et veille à ce que chaque détail soit parfait. Le spa est un véritable havre de paix : les installations sont magnifiques, parfaitement entretenues, et ma praticienne est d’un professionnalisme remarquable. Chaque soin est un vrai moment de détente et de bien-être, réalisé avec douceur et expertise. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour avoir rendu ce nouveau séjour parfait. Hotel is right on the beach. The location is very good. A little outdated but fine. The pool is indoor, the spa was ok, I had a good massage. We don’t eat dinner there, but lunch was very good.

Hotel deserves its five star rating. Rooms are really attractive, location is right on the beach, staff are friendly and efficient. The sea water swimming pool is a real bonus. We loved drinks on the terrace at sunset.

Excellente situation en bord d’une plage de sable fin fantastique et donnant accès à la zone piétonne de la vieille ville. Chambre parfaite et restaurant de grande qualité. A recommander à qui aime le luxe et dont l’urgence climatique n’empêche pas de dormir

Nous avons passé un séjour absolument parfait dans cet hôtel, à l’occasion de notre anniversaire de mariage. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et d’attention. Toute l’équipe a été aux petits soins avec nous et a su rendre cette occasion encore plus spéciale. Chaque détail semblait pensé pour que nous passions un excellent séjour, et nous nous sommes vraiment sentis privilégiés et très bien accueillis. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour sa bienveillance, son professionnalisme et toutes ces attentions qui ont fait de notre séjour un moment inoubliable. Nous repartons avec de merveilleux souvenirs et n’hésiterons pas à revenir. Nous recommandons cet hôtel sans la moindre hésitation !

We booked a night at this hotel spontaneously, and were absolutely delighted by the quality of the sleep. The bed was soft and luxurious and our room overlooked the beautiful beach. The windows had external shutters which enabled us to achieve blackout. The aircon worked well too, a blessing in July. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but went to a nice cafe just over the road and along. There is a supermarket around the corner about 5 minutes away on foot. Booked on the last minute with little choice, it was an expensive stay but we were extremely pleased with the level of comfort and seaside location of the hotel.

Un accueil irréprochable, des attentions particulières, un cadre magnifique ! Ce n'est pas la première fois que nous séjournons au Grand Hôtel à St Jean de Luz et ce n'est certainement pas la dernière !!!

Väldigt bra hotell med fantastiskt läge och mycket bra och service minded personal. Nära till strand och bad. Kan varmt rekommendera detta boende. Litet minus för gymmet om man nu gillar att gymma på sin semester.
