This hotel had obviously been a venue in a previous life so our bedroom was enormous and everything was brand new … bed, headboard, curtains, windows, bathroom, floor covering. The room was super clean which was all down to Veronica who had done a superb job. Staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We only saw a group of guys in the huge bar on Saturday night, otherwise it was very quiet. Free parking was definitely an advantage. Will definitely use it again next time we’re in Hull

I needed place to sleep for 1 night and they succeed in offering that. Bar in the lobby. Cosy bed. Quiet. Usb charging ports in the room. Iron and ironing board brought to my room upon request. I wish all hotels were just like Carmichael.

We stayed on New Years Eve night as did not want to battle getting taxis back to South Cave, so booked in to The Carmichael for the night. Room was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel felt safe and secure and with Air conditioning, although we had it on heat to keep the room nice and warm, I can imagine the rooms stay nice and cool in the summer. Super convenient location being in the centre of hull with a car park to the rear of the venue. If parking your car make sure to use the link on the hotel's webpage to the Google map to get accurate directions.

It was okay, spotless room but the bed was too firm and uncomfy. Noise from the adjoining street outside is unbearable. Aircon was unusable and very noisy. No kitchen facilities available so had to buy food from a takeaway. TV angle not ideal from the bed.

This is truly the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a negative review, but my experience at this hotel was awful from the moment I checked in. I was initially given Room 218, and when I opened the door, I was shocked — it looked like someone was still staying there. The bed was unmade, and a towel was thrown over the bathroom door. It was unsettling, and to make things worse, my key card didn’t work properly. Thankfully, the receptionist was very kind and reassigned me to Room 104. Unfortunately, this room was even worse. I walked into a scene that horrified me — the bed was a mess again, there was a moth flying around, and to top it off, there were pubic hairs scattered near and on the bed, as if someone had shaved there. It was absolutely disgusting. At this point, I was exhausted, it was late, and I had already paid — so I accepted a third room. This final room was cleaner but very small and had a dark, musty smell of mold that made the whole night uncomfortable. Despite all this, I do want to highlight the kind and helpful staff — they remained polite and tried to assist as best as they could. Also, the breakfast was decent — I’d rate it a 6.5 out of 10. Overall, though, I left feeling deeply disappointed and disgusted. This experience does not reflect the standards one expects when paying for accommodation, and I would not recommend staying here until serious improvements are made.

The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Its close to central Hull - the main square being a 5min walk away. My breakfast was good with various options.

The hotel is fine - and about right for the cost - but there are clear reasons why I would want to pay more. Good: clean on site bar & gym Good WiFi Good tv options via Firestick Bad: Shower (poor water pressure), heating (room was very cold, could only be heated by a wall mounted unit that shuts off when you leave the room, so the room is cold when you come back to it) no radiator/heat source in bathroom so cold stepping out of the shower!

Nice hotel with nice small double room. Dual heat/cool aircon and radiator. Will be a real asset in winter when cold and ice cold in summer. Everything is fine the only thing i would mention on the down side is shower usable but a little low on pressure. Will definitely use again!

Hotel was clean and the staff were excellent very helpful. Room was basic but functional and comfortable. This hote is located about a 20 minute walk from train station and located within the shopping district with plenty of dining options. Would recommend and definitely be using this hotel again

It’s only been open about 8 weeks , it in a good spot 5 mins walk from central area, convenient free parking , large airy room , pleasant staff , very helpful, would recommend and will definitely stay again !!
