My father was in the hospital in Seymour and passed away the evening I stayed at the inn. The comfort and beauty of my room and the property goes without words. The owners have taken such care and love in creating this space. A beautiful reprieve from such a terrible situation. Thank you.

NIce place with a very comfortable room and inviting outdoor areas to enjoy a fire and a glass of wine. Well stocked with water and other amenities (including a couple of beers in the fridge!) coffee and muffins in the morning.

This is my 3rd time to stay here this year! It is down the street from my parents and it is amazing! I brought a friend last time and my sister this time. We actually visit family which is 100 miles round trip and we choose to stay at Roots retreat. I’m not much for the long drive everyday we are visiting the area k but these people make it worth it every visit. You can’t ask for a cozy, more comfortable and homy place than Roots Retreat. This place is as clean as I’ve ever seen and we couldn’t ask for anymore than what was given to us. These people go above and beyond to make your stay easy and comfortable and checking in is at your fingertips and no dealing with lines or rude employees. This is the place to stay if ever around Seymour, Tx.

This place is a hidden gem! Driving up, I immediately felt like I was entering a little oasis; the building was so inviting and the interior common areas and my room were so well decorated and furnished. I had excellent communication with the owners about how to access my room and the lodge and where to find things. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've had while traveling, and all of the amenities were outstanding! I really appreciated the restaurant recommendations. I lucked out and it was ribeye night at the Long Branch Roadhouse… amazing meal! I'm tempted to find a reason to come back, even without a work trip, just so I can stay here again!

Great little place for a night stay. Beds were so comfortable. It feels like you’re staying at someone’s home rather than a hotel which is a nice change. If I could make any recommendations it would be have a bar fridge in room so guests can keep own drinks and food fresh, instructions for the shower would be nice, took us forever to figure it out not being from IS. A late night guest who checked in basically stripped the snack/breakfast bar so we had nothing to choose from in the morning. Very rude behaviour but not the fault of the hotel, the range was amazing, I guess you have to grab what you want when arriving so you don’t get nothing in the morning.

NIce place with a very comfortable room and inviting outdoor areas to enjoy a fire and a glass of wine. Well stocked with water and other amenities (including a couple of beers in the fridge!) coffee and muffins in the morning.

Great little place for a night stay. Beds were so comfortable. It feels like you’re staying at someone’s home rather than a hotel which is a nice change. If I could make any recommendations it would be have a bar fridge in room so guests can keep own drinks and food fresh, instructions for the shower would be nice, took us forever to figure it out not being from IS. A late night guest who checked in basically stripped the snack/breakfast bar so we had nothing to choose from in the morning. Very rude behaviour but not the fault of the hotel, the range was amazing, I guess you have to grab what you want when arriving so you don’t get nothing in the morning.

Great location. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was clean and quiet. Decorated very cute and was thoughtful of every detail of what a guest would need. The lobby had snacks and a coffee bar that again was well thought out and provided something for everyone. Beautiful patio area out front to gather with friends and family.

The Retreat is a delightful family oriented compound with a few motel rooms and more RV spaces. Our room was large and comfortably furnished. The owner was friendly and helpful and gave an excellent suggestion for dinner. We didn't take advantage of the various family activities available but the commons room looked very inviting.

I loved the coffee bar and how clean the rooms were. I will stay here again for sure! It is a hidden gem and you won’t be sorry if you stay here. I cannot say enough good things about it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Roots retreat. We stayed in the Freedom room in the lodge. It was beautifully decorated, smelled wonderful and the bed was really comfortable. There is a large pool which we didn’t use, a coffee/snack bar and a game room. It was our favorite place we stayed on our road trip from Bend, OR to Georgetown, TX
