Vintage Cottage in Wanchese

Yes- our hosts were very welcoming and communicated with us well. The cottage was exactly what we hoped for - warm and cozy and like a step back in time but still meeting all of our “modern” needs.

If you are looking for a welcoming, clean, well cared for, out of the way, peaceful cottage filled with a loving spirit and memories of a life well lived this is the place. The cottage is nestled in a historic village on Roanoke Island. We really like how close it was to everything but still off the beaten path. The cottage is comfortably appointed with fun touches like a record player and a wide variety of music choices. The kitchen has the basics for simple meals and a washer and dryer.Downside- the central air really struggles to keep it cool, however there are fans. When we stayed outside temps hovered between 95-100(the one and only reason for not giving it 5 stars). The host is wonderful Also, go on a dolphin tour, 5 minutes away - Harbor Star tours!
