Value Stay

The owner at Value stay was so nice and accommodating!! This is an older hotel but has been renovated. We felt safe and loved the area. Very convenient to all the areas we were there to visit. Much better than we had anticipated for the price. The owner was even able to upgrade us to a jacuzzi suite at check in.

Room 102 clean, fresh, cool and quiet. Hot water, nice staff, no weird smells. great AC. No closet or hanging rod but we only stayed one night. The freezer in the small fridge works great! For half price of the rest, its totally worth it. No coffee machine but I carry instant and cream as we travel work often. It looks to be somewhat under renovations.

Ample parking, even though there's no elevator the stairs were easy to climb. Room was large. The bathroom door opened towards the room so the light wasn't bad when you were sleeping. No odors and was clean. Will stay again.

The motel was out in the middle of nowhere and it's location meant an extra 10 - 15 minute drive each way. The unit we were assigned had nowhere to hang our things - no closet, no hooks, nothing.

Property is good, but little furniture to sit

The room was fine, clean and big. The hotel is an older one that they are trying to refurbish. We had a room next to the steps that went up to the 2nd floor. Apparently the hotel doesn’t have an elevator or other stairs to use and they are made of steel. The people were bouncing there suitcases up and down the steps through out the night and early morning. They also leave pets stay and they would bark when the people would bring them out to walk. As they say: you get what you pay for.

The property is being remodeled and needs additional work. But, it was clean, safe, with a comfortable bed for a very reasonable price.

Pulled up to the hotel, which is kinda away from anything, and immediately noticed what looked like meth heads hanging out in front of their room. The lobby looked deserted. Finally got a nice gentleman to help me get checked in. No water, no coffee, no nothing in the lobby. Got to the room, and it was like stepping back to 1975. Very outdated. Old furniture, TV got about 10 channels, paint was peeling off the walls, the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, the shower was dirty and had dead bugs in it (no roaches thank goodness), and the carpet in the entire room was wet. I hope it was from just being cleaned. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds ive ever seen (and i travel alot). This morning when i was packing to leave, a man was literally puking off the 2nd floor into the parking lot (one of the meth heads). I think the cleaning staff tries to do a good job, but this place needs a lot of work. Overall, i would say find something else.

The room was clean but upon inspection of the bed, the mattress had a Hugh yellow round stain on it (like a pee stain). The manager gave us a different room with 2 beds. One bed was ok but the other also had a stain in it. The bedspread looked dirty & from the 50’s. If I hadn’t went thru Hotels.com I would have not stayed there. We slept in our clothes. Don’t trust the ratings!

The hotel looks run down from outside. When I checked in the man come from the back looked like he lived there had no shoes on and clothes were filthy. He was nice but had no manners. I lost count how many times he belched as he was waiting on me. Was worried about this place after this and what the outside looked like. But was surprised at how clean the room was. It wasnt fancy. Didnt have a close, no phone and the chair was a table chair in the corner had no furniture. But the room was spotless. Smell like it was just clean. Bathroom was also spotless. Bed looked like it was going to be uncomfortable but it was also nice. The towels were a bit thin but they worked. Looks are deceiving with this hotel. Would stay again. You cant beat the price. We have stayed in hotels and pay triple the price and be no where near this clean. It could use some upgrades on things but what they do have they keep it clean.

Room smelled very smoky even though it was a non smoking room. Beds were full sized even though I reserved queen. Carpet had many stains and seemed beat up. Dead moths were in the sink and the room in general seemed very old and run down. Service at front desk was good and quick.

We called hotel to verify reservation and to tell them we would be late arriving. We got someone who spoke choppy English and told us she had no reservation for us. Sent us through to talk to the hotel. Very unprofessional. When checking in, not professional at all and actually belched when we were standing there. Room was cleaned ok. Dirty bar of soap on top of shower. Looked like it had been there a long time. Could see light coming in through door so didn’t feel completely safe. It was quiet at least. Bed was comfortable.

Room is clean, bed comfortable. However it lacks available electrical outlets. Of the 3 in the room, something was plugged into all but 1. There is another outlet but was wired poorly so even though it's a GFCI it operates off a switch that also operates the light over the sink. If you stay, bring. A power strip.

Check in was okay. We were moved to a different room (first room still had half finished milk and open beer in the fridge). The bed was wider than the frame (very uncomfortable). You can see that they are trying to take care of this old motel (but definitely needs a lot of work). The toilet paper dispenser literally fell out of the wall and there was a long strip of paint torn from the wall. Also, if you stay in 108, there's such a large gap between the door and the frame - i literally had to stuff a towel in the gap to keep the cold air out! There's a lot to be fixed around tge place. As a Silver tier with Hotels.com i didn't receive my free drinks (water). I usually stay here 4 times a year, because it's a halfway point for me. However, i will be looking for a new place in the vicinity, for my next travel. They even wanted to charge extra for our 1 year old child. The manager looks very unprofessional, and always disheveled. He tries, but definitely lacks professionalism. I only stay 1 night at a time, and i think that the only reason i come back here is because i know what to expect.

The rooms were nice even though the outside of the bldg looked ran down. The neighbors in room 221 were loud. Fighting slamming doors and yelling. The fire alarm also went off Sunday morning I assume someone being stupid and pulled the alarm

Room was clean! Room needed dome repairs. The toliet roll holder was coming out of the wall and the bottom part if the sink was missing a large ceramic piece. The refrigerator makes a loud humming noise!

Phone did not work. One chair in room. Condition not good.

Enjoyed seeing the fall colors. Restaurants are conveniently located nearby, along with many other businesses. I will definitely stay here again!

Would not know they gave away my reservation without notice had to drive back home and cancel my plans for the weekend

Not what it was promised to be. Front desk not always available. Older facility. The shower from the room above leaked into our room making it impossible to utilize our bathroom in the morning. When I went to the front desk the doors were locked and there was no answer to repeated knocking. When I finally woke the manager with a phone call he offered no assistance.

Great service, clean room. Bed was a little uncomfortable but doable for a night. No issues, easy to find and get back on the road, near two gas stations and within a mile a few restaurants. Friendly staff.

Location ok just of the highway. Bed was ok not great the pillows were terrible the toilet sett was very loose almost fell off it when you sat down.front desk staff was ok they did day to call if you needed anything. Price was ok

The manager was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that the door doesn’t seal (daylight shines through). The neighborhood was safe. I love that the motel is right off I-64, and close to several restaurants, gas stations, and attractions.

Value Stay is my go-to place anytime I am traveling to/from Virginia. It's convenient, clean, cost-effective, and cozy. I have stayed several times, with no problems. I look forward to my next stay here!

It was clean and convenient.

I enjoy staying here whenever i am travelling cross country. The staff's pleasant. The check-in is quick. The rooms are comfortable. I have stayed here multiple times throughout the past year. The location is great: right off the highway, near stores and restaurants, and near historical sites. The only issue i had this time was that someone kept setting off their car alarm ALL night (and morning). I finally just left around 4 am.
