Davos Chalet

A ski lodge with appropriate and fun decor. Updates are under way but our room, though clean, was cramped and somewhat dated. Common areas were well furnished. We were the only guests (not ski season) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Game room, sauna, snacks, and a beautiful location.

It was a last minute hotel stay on our trip. Rate was great for summer time stay. Had a nice game room, bikes and kayaks for us to use if we wanted to. Big living room area ( what I would call it) with TV, a kitchen area to use to make your own food. A fire pit, all s'more stuff in a cabinet to use as well. Lake down the hill to go fishing or kayaking. In the winter, big ski slope. Nice deck that goes along the back side with plenty of seating and great view. Met the owner when we were getting ready to leave. Very nice and talked to him for a while. Would go back if in the area and stay a couple days! Nice and quiet! The outside looks like something you would see in Switzerland area.

Beautiful overlook of a lake, wonderful amenities, including a fire pit, game room, supplies for s’mores, as well as bug spray, which was helpful to me as I left my bug spray at home. Easily accessible, and my room was very clean and I loved it.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It was also cozy and beautiful if you want to feel like you're in Ireland, Germany, even in Switzerland this is the place to be without leaving Wisconsin. The asthetics and charm of the area are your own little slice of heaven. It's just a short drive to restaurants and shopping if you need to get a few extra supplies. End your afternoon fishing, playing games, kayaking or using the sauna.

That was a problem for me as an international traveller with no working cellphone. Had to message the owner and have the information emailed to me. - Everything was very clean. Some things were dated, such as the shower head and toilet, which should both be updated, but the owner is in the process of renovating. - Beautiful, cozy, clean, and cool common rooms and building overall. - Game room is about as dilapidated and broken as tou would expect. But there certainly is one! Free kayaks to rent down by the water, which is super cool. No lofejsckets apparently, however. - Biggest complaint: be prepared to take a hike with your luggage from the gravel parking lot to your room uphill. It’s quite the journey. This is a ski chalet, after all, so no parking right by your door like a motel. - No tv in the room, if you care about that. Wifi was good enough for streaming. - Overall, be prepared for no proper front desk, beautiful property, clean if dated rooms, and fun stuff to do. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through or planning on sticking around for a while. Would recommend for families and kids. This is a gem.

Easy contactless check in with timely responses. Quiet and clean. Lots of options for families to engage in activities. Under a remodel which will make it even better (we were not affected by the remodel work). Great stay at a reasonable price. Jovany’s Sidekicks is nearby….good food and great service!

This place is under renovation but it was clean and comfortable in a beautiful quiet location. Lots of amenities and primacy but with a communal feel outside of your room.

Very clean spacious lodging! They had a game room in the basement and access to a hot tub pool and sauna! Best part is that they are pet friendly which meant alot to us 😊The owners were very easy to communicate with as well!

We had a great stay! Everything was clean, the amenities were great, and the building was super cool. We can’t wait to come back when we have more time to stay. The owner was also very friendly when I called to ask questions pre booking.

Very interesting stay to say the least. This is certainly an unconventional location. Think down rooms meets hotel. It’s set up very much like dorms (but with private bathrooms) but a hotel booking. The rooms each have keypads that let you into your room. No staff at all on premise. Owner is incredibly responsive and friendly. This stay is going to be for someone who just needs a place to lay their head. The parking is far from the building and it’s a trek if you have a lot of things. In winter it would suck. It was an absolutely quiet and peaceful place. However. This location is a very unconventional stay. I will stay here again now that I know what to expect (I travel each month for work) but I was a little shell-shocked. It’s clean and private but very unconventional.

Check-in was online; no staff were actually at the property. Entering the 8 digit code on a door handle took several tries before the door would open. The property was recently purchased and is being remodeled. The common areas were very nice. The shower in our room seems to have the original showerhead which allowed water to come out in a very few pencil size streams. The Davos Chalet will probably improve as more remodeling is completed.

No check in desk. Didn’t know where to park - no signs. Gravel drive was rough. No TV in room. View was nice. Hotel under remodel. Strange odor inside.

The chalet is outdated but i was told the owner is renovating. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. The walls are very thin so it was very noisy and hard to get to sleep. I would suggest a noise machine be an option for people to have in thier rooms to block out all the people noise.

Cute ski Chalet. I stayed on a off night when the ski sloped were closed, but ski run to the lifts are right out the door. Some vintage, some modern amenities. Good sized rooms, hot shower, scenic views. I hope to visit again.

There is no staff, The rooms do not have a tv, the gathering room does, Its a great deal for the money. There is no elevator and our room was 3 flights of stairs. I could see this being a issue for older folks.. Its a nice place to stay but not for everyone. Its a ski resort.

Was unaware of the no AC on 1st floor. 80+ degrees in our room. Unable to open window. Could not sleep

This was a great stop on an impromptu road trip. Comfy bed, nice showerhead and reasonable room. Will definitely consider in the future.

We booked our unit not knowing that all the details of our room and the chalet because they were not listed. The place overall is getting a remodel and it will be great for the right people. Parking is fine but then you need to carry your luggage through a tunnel to get to the chalet, once there you carry your stuff to your room(no elevators). The room itself is small but has is fine you should know there is no TV. The Tv's are found in the main lounge areas only. That area also has kitchens for all to use. You do have your a coffee maker in your room.The view is amazing from the numerous decks and commons area. We where the only ones staying there. Kinda eerie. Your check-in is virtual. Great locks on your doors but with a very long code to enter. The building itself is accessible to anyone to enter. We are in our 70's and for us this place didn't meet our needs. We where booked for 2 nights but left after first night. We felt unsafe do to location and that anyone could enter building. This chalet is great for someone who ski's, want's a place just to sleep and lounge with all the guests, in the commons area. It is very unique and if we where 20 years younger it would have been great.

I had booked a lakview room. We were put in a standard room. Not a big deal. I texted to let the owner know. No response to that though. I also let him know we were disappointed to find out there were no TV’s in the rooms. He said it says in the description there are no TV’s except in communal areas. I checked Expedia again, it definitely does not say that. Walls are pretty thin so you feel like you have to whisper. We would’ve preferred to stay in the lodge down the hill. Also, be prepared to climb stairs! No elevator!

No major issues and loved the property and surrounding area. Beds were a bit stiffer than we would have liked. Restaurant & pool are next door. Staff there were very friendly & helpful too.

The check in was kind of tough the link provided didn't seem to work. The staff helped me work through the issue. New owner is remodeling to modernize so it will be improved moving forward. overall a good value.

I talked to the owner on the phone and got to meet him on site.He was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed while under construction during offseason reasonable rate for nice quiet place to stay on our way back from Yellowstone to Michigan.

Very comfortable fun place! Met several nice folks in the common area! A little hard to find the first time but a very Unique place to stay with plenty to do!

Wow! What a neat experience! Beautiful location, it was the highlight of our trip! Calm peaceful location with amazing views and perfect for an evening walk. The chalet was adorable and felt like you were a guest at a friend’s house. A living room and kitchen to use and a deck to enjoy the views and peaceful ambiance. A s’mores closet and fire pit was the perfect touch! Super nice guy who is restoring it, great service!

I love this place far from the city lights im with the beautiful lake view! Your room comes with Marshmellows and hershey bars! They have a fire pit, sauna, game room, and 2 community kitchens. What a great place to see the stars at night.. and if your lucky the Northern lights!
