The Inn was a nice place. However be careful what web site you make your reservations with. They tell you there is a pool, complimentary breakfast. These are no more. After the hurricanes the pool is gone as well as then doing a breakfast for there customers. Rooms were spacious but it does come with a price.

We stayed at Island Inn on Sanibel Island for 2 nights just before Christmas when it was not so busy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room is nice and cozy, with a fully functional kitchen and spacious bathroom We love the beachfront location, very convenient for the family. Free beach chairs, umbrellas, grillsll, and beach toys, you name it! Free parking in designated spaces, one for each unit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even offered a tide chart at check-in for you to plan shelling activities, LOL. In my opinion we had the best beach for collectingseashells right in front of the hotel.

Room was very spacious, clean and new. Everything was well stocked for the bathroom and kitchen needs. Staff was very nice and attentive. The beach was beautiful as always. Know before booking there is no pool. There is one washer and dryer on the grounds for the guest to use without charge. Overall the stay was excellent.

We loved our time at Island Inn on Sanibel Island. The room was clean and beautiful. Our hosts were super nice and had good tipps for what to do and where to go. We got waveboards for free for bodysurfing in the waves which was super gib!

Third time staying in Sanibel. This hotel (or Inn) is amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is amazing. Huge space, nice kitchen and supplies, balcony with a lot of chairs and table to sit and relax. King size bed was great and bathroom has 2 sinks - identical as photos. They offer 1 covered parking spot (in the summer or raining season, this make a difference). The Inn is right at the beach, in a private and nice place at Sanibel - away from the public beach area. My wife loved shelling in peace and found several shells to her collection. They offer chairs/umbrella at no cost. And bikes for rentals. Cleaning staff was great and service everyday.

Check in was very friendly and easy. Our room was just as nice as the pictures. Wonderful walk in shower. Nice living and kitchen area. Beach access was great. Beach chairs and umbrellas out every day. Comfortable bed and plenty of towels. Parking was ground floor directly under our unit. I did like the fact that our truck did not have to sit out in the sun during our stay. They are definitely still dealing with some post Ian issues but are making the best of what they still have. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Was well worth the trip. Wish we could’ve seen it before Ian. Hopefully they can rebuild the buildings they have lost and rehab one of the buildings that suffered damage but is still standing. Can’t wait to go back and see the progress. All in all a wonderful stay.

Gulf front property with covered parking. Immaculately clean with beautiful decor. Lovely screened in porch with a sink/counter to wash your seashells or other use that you might have. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about area dining options. We didn’t take advantage of all amenities but there are many.

This property is oceanfront with direct access to the beach from the lanai. There was a large screened lanai with chairs and a table. Everything was clean and the staff was very helpful. There was daily cleaning but, we decided not to use it because it was raining and we were stuck inside. When I went outside there were a bag of fresh towels at the door. I didn’t even ask for them. I would recommend this property.

We had a lovely but short stay (1 night) and would love to return. Our room was clean, comfortable and in pristine condition. The little mangrove plant in our unit was a great way to seamlessly incorporate ecotourism. I think my favorite memory is sitting outside at night with nothing but the moonlight to illuminate the sea and the total quiet of the island except for the gentle sound of waves hitting the shore. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely care about their guests’ experience. Absolute gem of a vacation spot, we can’t wait to return.

So glad to see Sanibel coming back to life after the devastation from the hurricane. What a little piece of paradise at Island Inn. The quiet private beach was amazing! Our room was clean and set up perfectly. With a beautiful view of the beach! We'll definitely be back one day!

Love how quiet and private the beach is here. Nothing flashy here. Just the beach and a decent room. Close to Jerrys grocery and Doc Fords. What more could you ask for. Staff is friendly and rooms are nice overall. Only complaints was the AC not working which we did not realize until later when we got back from dinner. Too late to really get anything done about it. The furniture in this room was little dirty. Could use a steam cleaning. We will come back because overall it is what we are looking for. Beachfront. Remember that this area has a lot of damage still unattended to from the hurricane. Keep that in mind. A lot of fenced in construction type scenery.

They have been working tirelessly to get the property beck since the hurricanes. Our room was brand new and excellent! Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and helpful to make sure your needs are met. It’s sad to see the island in such bad shape 3 yrs since Ian. However things are looking up all around and our stay along the beach was wonderful!

Fantastic little spot. The room is more like a condo than a hotel-all with views of the beach Everything was spotless and new. Ned was comfortable. Love that there was a table and chairs on the screen patio. Will definitely be back!

I think the Island Inn was a great place to stay if you want to walk out of your room onto a beautiful uncrowded beach that the crowd ls limited to the rooms it has occupied at the resort. Sanibel Island as a whole is still recovering from the devastation that the last hurricane there caused, as is the Island Inn, as they lost somewhere around 12-18 buidlings throughout the property. The room was a lovely efficiency room that included a living room and kitchen area. Rooms are clean and bright and well maintained. You can either stock up on food for your refrigerator and bbq right out on the beach or you can drive a little ways to Captiva Island and find some great restaurants there. We stayed there after a stay in Sarasota which was very busy, so an isolated, quiet beach without music playing and footballs being tossed in front of me was a nice change. Nice place to stay - Make sure you bring lots of strong bug spray for those times when there's no wind as the noseum's (sand gnats) will eat you alive and you won't know it until a few days later when you're home and itching like crazy. That's a "Sanibel" thing (not an Island Inn thing)..

The size of this studio was perfect for two. It felt a bit dated, but certainly filled every need. Loved being just steps to the beach and the location on the island is great. Our only complaint is that we could hear every footstep, chair slide across the floor, and other night time activities from the unit above. This really negatively affected the evenings when we spent time in the unit. There must be no insulation in the ceiling.
The size of this studio was perfect for two. It felt a bit dated, but certainly filled every need. Loved being just steps to the beach and the location on the island is great. Our only complaint is that we could hear every footstep, chair slide across the floor, and other night time activities from the unit above. We absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in the superior suite on the 2nd floor. Beautiful view with stairs to walk right onto the beach. The unit was perfect. Completely stocked kitchen with full size fridge. Beautiful bathroom. They have facilities you can use when you check out and want to hang out a little longer on the beach. Great staff. So close to doc fords and 4 mins to a cvs. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back and stay longer.

We had a lovely but short stay (1 night) and would love to return. Our room was clean, comfortable and in pristine condition. The little mangrove plant in our unit was a great way to seamlessly incorporate ecotourism. I think my favorite memory is sitting outside at night with nothing but the moonlight to illuminate the sea and the total quiet of the island except for the gentle sound of waves hitting the shore. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely care about their guests’ experience. Absolute gem of a vacation spot, we can’t wait to return.

The Island In property and grounds were beautiful, clean and in excellent condition. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We were given a welcome packet when we checked in, it had lots of useful information - even a high and low tide chart. We would definitely recommend Island Inn.

Amazing views from Matthews Lodge!!!! This is my third stay (first time after hurricane Ian) and every time the staff, from the office staff to the maintenance team to the housekeeping team are ALL amazing! Always right there to tend to every need with a smile! I don’t think there is ever a day they would ever not make this place feel like home away from home!! The Island Inn is a must and the island would not feel the same without them! They are working hard to re build the future and sustain the incredible history this Inn has to offer its guests. In fact, if I lived close enough, they make the environment so great I would even want to work there! God Bless!! Dawn H

We had an incredible stay at the Island Inn for our anniversary, and we can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. Ken and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our trip truly special, and their kindness and attention to detail made us feel right at home. The rooms were very comfortable with breathtaking beach views, and the hotel provided so many thoughtful free amenities—like beach chairs and umbrellas—that made our days by the ocean even better. The screened porch was perfect for relaxing (citronella candles from the store were a lifesaver for the no-see-ums), and we loved how welcoming and friendly everyone was throughout our stay. Even with parts of the property still being rebuilt, the Island Inn already feels like a slice of paradise. We can’t wait to see it fully restored and will definitely be making all of our future Sanibel stays here. Highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting the island!

The Hotel was exactly what I WANTED, easy to get to the beach (very few people there), Chairs and umbrellas in place on the beach, able to see the beach from my balcony, great shelling! We will be back, cannot say enough great things!

As a couple in our 50's, we were looking for something quiet and relaxing which is exactly what we found here. There are no shops, pools, bars, or restaurants within walking distance but the beach was PERFECT! We will definitely return! :)

I think the Island Inn was a great place to stay if you want to walk out of your room onto a beautiful uncrowded beach that the crowd ls limited to the rooms it has occupied at the resort. Sanibel Island as a whole is still recovering from the devastation that the last hurricane there caused, as is the Island Inn, as they lost somewhere around 12-18 buidlings throughout the property. The room was a lovely efficiency room that included a living room and kitchen area. Rooms are clean and bright and well maintained. You can either stock up on food for your refrigerator and bbq right out on the beach or you can drive a little ways to Captiva Island and find some great restaurants there. We stayed there after a stay in Sarasota which was very busy, so an isolated, quiet beach without music playing and footballs being tossed in front of me was a nice change. Nice place to stay - Make sure you bring lots of strong bug spray for those times when there's no wind as the noseum's (sand gnats) will eat you alive and you won't know it until a few days later when you're home and itching like crazy. That's a "Sanibel" thing (not an Island Inn thing)..

This property is oceanfront with direct access to the beach from the lanai. There was a large screened lanai with chairs and a table. Everything was clean and the staff was very helpful. There was daily cleaning but, we decided not to use it because it was raining and we were stuck inside. When I went outside there were a bag of fresh towels at the door. I didn’t even ask for them. I would recommend this property.

Love how quiet and private the beach is here. Nothing flashy here. Just the beach and a decent room. Close to Jerrys grocery and Doc Fords. What more could you ask for. Staff is friendly and rooms are nice overall. Only complaints was the AC not working which we did not realize until later when we got back from dinner. Too late to really get anything done about it. The furniture in this room was little dirty. Could use a steam cleaning. We will come back because overall it is what we are looking for. Beachfront. Remember that this area has a lot of damage still unattended to from the hurricane. Keep that in mind. A lot of fenced in construction type scenery.

Island Inn and the overall area are still recovering from the Hurricane that impacted SE Florida. The staff was very friendly and helpful and our accommodations were in excellent condition. However, there are few amenities on property and one damaged building on property that will need to be demolished and rebuilt. There was a grocery store and restaurants close by but many of the businesses are still closed. The beach is in good shape with tons of shells but beware the no-see-ums. Wishing Island Inn and their friendly team the best as they rebuild. We would like to revisit in the future.

The Inn was a nice place. However be careful what web site you make your reservations with. They tell you there is a pool, complimentary breakfast. These are no more. After the hurricanes the pool is gone as well as then doing a breakfast for there customers. Rooms were spacious but it does come with a price.
