Great old hotel. Only public parking

Nice Hotel, Parking is "first come first served" otherwise you walk to a public parking with your luggage, no parking attendant, No phone in room, (they want you to use your cellphone. No ice or microwave in room. Nice clean room, sometimes loud train horn (0330am)!!!!!!! Good location friendly staff and great restaurant. $$$

Overall, it was a good experience. I chose this hotel though because I thought there was a bar. There is an attached to restaurant that was absolutely fantastic. But sitting at the bar in a standalone restaurant is just different than a hotel bar.

Hotel and room were clean and generally comfortable. A/C control was not intuitive such that the room could have been furnished with an instruction sheet. Once the settings were understood, the system operated just fine. The shower water was overly soft and required more time to rinse soap and shampoo. Overall, the interior architecture and design were appealing. The restaurant and bar (Cypress and Oak) was conveniently connected to the hotel. The food and beverages were very good, despite the staff shortages behind the bar, waiters and kitchen. Be prepared for extended wait times for service. The stay was mostly comfortable and the location was convenient for the purpose of the trip. We would definitely consider The Delegate Hotel for a future trip to Frankfort.

Great location. Parking is goofy.

A BIG problem with not having on site parking, especially as it was advertised as $12 self park. When we couldn't find it I called the front desk who told me to go down the hill and across the street to the KY Historical Society parking lot. Also there is no where to drive up to the front to drop bags etc. or anyone to help you with your bags. VERY disappointing for $200 a night. Once we were in the hotel, everything was lovely, except for the train tracks that run directly behind the property (like with in feet) whistle blowing at 8 am. Our fault for not booking earlier, but we were also disappointed that when we arrived at 5:30pm the restaurant, Cypress and Oak was fully booked for the evening. This was a Tuesday night in early Oct. It did not appear that it was full of hotel guests.

The only thing saving this from being a 1 star review is that the place looks really nice inside. The parking situation is poor. You'll end up in a public lot with uncertain legality, then carrying your stuff half a block uphill, across two intersections and some railroad tracks. The room is bare of any amenities. Our suite had a pointless kitchenette, without even a drinking glass. No room service, not even a cracker to be had on the property. We booked a room with a pull out bed, but no bedding was provided; it didn't even have a sheet on it. There's no phone in the room, so interacting with the desk involves going downstairs. Our attempts to get bedding resulted in a dirty duvet insert, 4 pillow cases, and a sheet... eventually we got a clean duvet insert that was supposed to pass as a blanket. The main bed had dirty linens, the shower hot water was fickle. There's no vent fan in the bathroom, so everything gets wet. The cleaning is lazy, I do not believe they mop the hard floors. You can hear the pocket doors in adjacent suites banging closed. I am not sure why it gets such high ratings on Expedia. I was expecting a 9 star experience, I've slept in a tent in a campground with more amenities than this place. Bring your own ice, I guess. Do yourself a favor; stop in and look at the place. Just look at it, then you will have extracted all the value this place has to offer, turn around and go to a different hotel for a comfortable stay.

The Delegate was a great boutique hotel. I loved the exposed brick. The Keurig and water bottles in the room was a very nice touch.the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioner was easy to use.

The place is great for the most part. The sink situation is a little awkward. Only real complaint is that there is like zero soundproofing between the rooms. We heard every word from our neighbors. Hair dryer at 5:30 am was very loud. Could even hear their electric toothbrush.

The old building had some charge. We were disappointed that this hotel did not have cable tv as we wanted to watch playoff games. Had to go out to find the game at a restaurant.

The room looked lovely but we quickly discovered that it was not sound proof. We could hear conversations the couple staying above us had. Every time they flushed the toilet or used the sink, it sounded like pouring rain in our room. Plus, our AC quit in the middle of the night and we couldn’t reset it.

Staff was great. Location awesome. Bed super comfy. Room extremely noisy on account of being on the restaurant side of the hotel.

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was unique. Unfortunately, the walls are thing and you can hear every noise made around your room. There is also a set of train tracks out front and trains do pass through at all hours...including 1wam amd 4:30am.

I loved this hotel. I’m always traveling & this one is probably one of my favorites. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Rooms were extremely spacious and had big beautiful windows causing beautiful natural light. The beds were comfortable and the hotel didn’t have a smell. Finally a hotel with no smell. I’ll definitely will be staying there again

Only issue was the sound proofing is not great. Heard people at 6am!

Cute boutique hotel with a great restaurant. Two minor issues: the online checkin system is not working, didn't find out until I called; next time we would request a top floor room as we could hear every footstep from the room above.

Great room and location! We love the restaurant next door. Front desk agent was not welcoming and was not receptive in helping us get our preferred room. Hotel is walkable to downtown Frankfort. Second stay this year.

Completely bungled our check-in, went into our supposed room and found someone else’s items. Luckily they weren’t there, went back to front desk and horrible. Didn’t have room reserved, even though it had already been paid for. Terrible.

This was a very unique hotel!! The young gentleman who checked us in last night (7/30)- I promised I would remember his named- was very professional and patient with me as I called twice for questions!!

Our stay at The Delegate was pleasant and nice, but it was the leaving / departure process that was problematic. Visions of Hotel California kept haunting us. The Delegate charged us 3 times for rooms when we checked out even though we paid at booking weeks in advance thru Expedia. It took more than two weeks and 5 phone calls to the hotel for them to apply the required three credit refunds to our credit card. Jason, the operations mgr, finally got the issue resolved for us ... but it still took him more than a week and 3 phone calls to get it done. At one point, staff were requesting us to send them a copy of our credit card statement and calling us from their personal phones. Not a comfortable situation. And the closest we got to an apology was a "we are a newer hotel and the staff is still being trained". An excuse, A reason. Not an apology. Morale of the story. The Delegate is a nice hotel. But beware of untrained staff, tardy borderline incompetent complaint resolution, and unscrupulous business practices. Guard your credit cards and personal information!

Charming spacious suite room with extra king bed in loft. Walking distance to downtown Frankfort. And just over a mile to Buffalo Trace, a great way to start your bourbon trail adventures.

Very cool historic hotel with a beautiful vibe. Friendly staff. Very large and clean room. Had a drink after dinner in the hotel restaurant but next time will definitely try dinner there as well. Looks amazing! Great location, parking a bit tricky but I understand they are working on that. Would definitely recommend and will stay again...

Cute unique hotel steps away from downtown entertainment and eating. 5 minutes from Buffalo Trace.

Was close to downtown and easy walking to other restaurants and bars. We would stay there again.

Nice quiet spot, close to shopping or the bourbon trail, this is the perfect hotel. We spent several days shopping, supporting local businesses in the region and enjoyed the quietness of The Delegate. We'll be back and will refer to friends.

This hotel was great, it was updated, clean and cozy. I would have given a full 5 star rating if the parking experience was better. A simple note upon booking with detailed recommendations on where to park would have minimized my anxiety upon arrival. Many walkable dining/bar options with Buffalo Trace a very short drive away.

Nice boutique hotel a couple of blocks from main downtown area with plenty of dining options, shops, museums..including the Kentucky Historical Society directly across the street from the hotel. Only complaint was restaurant at Delegate does not serve breakfast or lunch M-F, only dinner from 4:pm on..maybe 5? Whichever. On weekends there is a brunch that doesn’t begin until 10:am..it’s very good, a bit expensive though and I wished they’d give you a regular breakfast option too. Plus there should be some sort of breakfast available thru the week that’s put out with the coffee at 7:am. Croissants, toast, jams, OJ, simple stuff..At least. Because you have to walk at least a couple of blocks to the nearest breakfast redtaurant( Main Diner) WHICH is very good, but very crowded quickly after opening. Limited seating. And there’s another one practically right next door..not as extensive breakfast menu. The hotel is clean, comfortable, unique, staffed well, no complaints. Parking is limited because the hotel sits on an incline…without many parking spaces requiring those who don’t get one of those to park behind the hotel in a lot requiring more walking with luggage than clients would like. The town is wonderful, with historical homes and buildings, located 30 minutes from Lexington. We’ll definitely go back.

It's a really neat boutique type hotel.Just a few things we noticed. The AC/ heating unit needs to be moved. It blows right on the bed. The breakfast is in their restaurant. But it didn't open until 10. We had to leave early and couldn't wait. The parking is doable. But not as convenient as most of your chain hotels. But if you're staying here your looking for something different. The rooms are beautiful and the remodel is wonderful. It's very detailed.Its in walking distance to a few small restaurants. It was a nice experience.

Room was nice. Love the restaurant everything is clean and beautiful love how close it is to downtown only thing I’m disappointed in is the menus in the room are not updated with the restaurant. Not a big deal our meal was still so delicious but my husband was really excited for the burgo. Overall we’d stay again
