Great new hotel with a beautiful well-designed lobby and very nice rooms. Karen was lovely to talk with and she was very knowledgeable about the hotel and area. We liked the little store/kiosk also.

Stylish and inexpensive with spacious rooms and a great variety of beverages and snacks available 24/7 in a shop off the lobby. And, a few very good restaurants right outside your door. I highly recommend!

This is a brand new property conveniently located on the westbound service road of the Sam Rayburn Expressway (121) just west of Stacy in McKinney. It is not part of a chain (at least not yet) and has the feel of a boutique hotel. The front desk staff were all highly professional and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. Really no negatives, except for one slight surprise - there is no breakfast service, which we were told was a condition of their property lease since the hotel is surrounded by restaurants. There is a wide assortment of breakfast items available in the small market just off the lobby, but of course each item carries a charge (except for coffee and tea which are available both in the lobby area and in the rooms, and naturally that is free.) Wine, beer, soft drinks, and juices are also available for purchase in the lobby area. The absence of breakfast service was not an issue for us as we had plans to take our grandkids to brunch in downtown McKinney. Also, there is a nice casual restaurant with breakfast service a short walk from the front door of the hotel. We only mention this because these days it is customary for hotels in this price range to offer a free breakfast in the first floor common area. Probably more of an issue if you are traveling with kids. We loved everything about our room and will certainly return when we travel again to McKinney to visit our grandchildren.

We loved our time at the Hotel Denizen! Staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and we really appreciated the full-size refrigerator and freezer! Parking was close and we thought it was very safe. But the day we checked our, our front tire pressure was down to 15 psi. Not sure what happened. Hopefully, it wasn't because someone messed with it in the parking lot.

I love the lobby, very cool. Love the safety if the elevators.. requiring a key card to access the floors is so important! The only thing I didn’t like is that one of my towela had makeup on it which means it wasn’t cleaned so I wonder what else wasn’t clean. Still overall beautiful and would go back.

Very nice clean property! Incredible design as well! Wish there was breakfast but that’s okay because the place was so nice. Hallway smelt a little funny, but the room was completely fine.

We were pleasantly surprised with how convenient and smart everything about this hotel was. My only comment was the room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, upon check in I found litter by the seating area. Other than that we would definitely visit again.

It was a great hotel. The rooms were nice and large and great showers. The only complaint I have is the lobby in the halls. Had a terrible smell the entire time we were there the halls almost smelled like mildew and I’m not sure about the lobby smells like they were having plumbing issues, but I don’t know that but the smell was not great beyond that it was a great hotel but I wouldn’t stay there again just because of the smell

There was a very musty smell as soon as we entered the hallway to our room. The room itself did not have that smell, nor did the lobby or elevator. The staff was very pleasant and the room was wonderful. That is literally the only thing keeping it from a five-star review.

By far the best hotel in the Plano and Allen area. Immaculately clean, the small kitchen is fully stocked with high end supplies. Thw lobby is beautifully and comfortable and the staff is outstanding.

One of the best stays for my family and I. Very modern and trendy. Rooms are clean and equipped with everything including a mid-size fridge, sink, dishwasher. Extremely friendly staff and very professional. I ll recommend to everyone that I know who plans on visiting Dallas.

The Denizen is sort of a fancy Residence Inn. Pros: Nice rooms and excellent proximity to restaurants and transportation in the McKinney area. Negatives: Its next to a freeway and the noise is significant. They only clean the room every 3 days, and that means no coffee replacements unless you ask for it. No in hotel cafe. Neither good or bad: It has a small kitchen. They do not have an ironing board or iron in the room. They provide a steamer in the room, which sort of works on suits and dresses, but not shirts. Overall a nice place and would stay again.

New facility, odd bathroom items. No shelving for shampoo, etc. in the shower. No handle inside the shower to assist in closing the shower door. Not a real issue but I thought it was odd while other chains are going with larger shampoo, etc. bottles, yours were the smallest I've seen in a long time.

It was perfect for our needs to have a fridge and kitchen sink. Everything was new and designed to keep clean with hard floors and rug just around bed which was so comfortable. Lots of storage so your stuff isn’t strewn everywhere. Card key turns on the power in your room. How’s that for being green? Very reasonable price. This is our new go-to place to stay when when we travel without our dog. Love it!

False advertisement. On booking room description states room has shower/tub combo. Photos show the same. I had to have a bathtub for my child. I even put it in the special requests to ensure I wasn’t placed in an accessible room with a shower. On check in I verified my room had a bathtub. The front desk staff told me my room was a shower only. Then she said she can’t see special requests when booked through a 3rd party. Then redacted her statement and said she saw it. However they were fully booked and nothing could be done. Too late for a refund for me. I wouldn’t have booked here if I would have known it was shower only. I asked where the carts were to carry our luggage up. She told me they were all in people’s room. Not in use. Sitting in rooms. She didn’t offer to go get them. So we had to make several trip to bring our luggage in. Asked where the bar was as there is a photo on the “on property bar”. We were told there isn’t a bar but we could walk to the common table or restaurant district to get a drink. Very dissatisfied in this poorly advertised hotel. Oh and when I acted like I was going to book this hotel for the same night online, it showed 7 rooms available. So they weren’t fully booked.

We love staying here! The location is unbeatable for catching a concert or eating in one of the many great restaurants in District 121. The apartahotel style is so homey, with everything you could possibly need. They have a midsize refrigerator with freezer (not mini fridge), coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, and even a handheld steamer if you forgot yours at home! I love the modern, urban vibe throughout. It’s our Go To hotel when we’re in town for a tennis tournament. Btw, there’s a bit of a vintage tennis & golf theme throughout - classy not obnoxious. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. We’ve only seen one person at the front desk though so during busy times, you’ll have to wait your turn in line.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Service and Misleading Information We recently stayed at this hotel for three nights, hoping to try something different. Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. There is virtually no customer service offered here. The front desk staff seemed poorly trained and unable to handle even basic requests. Much of their time was spent answering calls from guests asking for essentials like towels, toilet paper, and other amenities—requests that clearly indicated a lack of proactive service. The hotel’s concept tries to appear elegant, but it comes off as cheap and poorly executed. For instance, our room reservation included “two free drinks,” which turned out to be two small bottles of warm water—definitely misleading. We were told that rooms are “refreshed” every other day, but this never happened. I personally went to the front desk to request a refresh (new towels, trash removal, and the bed made). The staff seemed confused by the request and even asked if they needed to remove the trash—something that should be standard. When we returned, the room had not been cleaned, the trash was untouched, the bed left as it was, and three towels were simply left on the kitchen counter. To make matters worse, the ice machine was broken and trash bags were sitting outside multiple rooms on our floor for extended periods. It’s clear that the hotel is understaffed and not equipped to handle even basic operations. NOT staying there again

When arriving the staff was friendly, but not to helpful when needing to unload your car upon arrival. Did not provide a dolly until we had already checked in and had everything piled up in the lobby. Would recommend maybe installing automatic doors to help with guests being able to enter the property a little easier, instead of trying to juggle their luggage and trying to open a door at the same time.

We love staying here! The location is unbeatable for catching a concert or eating in one of the many great restaurants in District 121. The apartahotel style is so homey, with everything you could possibly need. They have a midsize refrigerator with freezer (not mini fridge), coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, and even a handheld steamer if you forgot yours at home! I love the modern, urban vibe throughout. It’s our Go To hotel when we’re in town for a tennis tournament. Btw, there’s a bit of a vintage tennis & golf theme throughout - classy not obnoxious. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. We’ve only seen one person at the front desk though so during busy times, you’ll have to wait your turn in line.

Very nice clean property! Incredible design as well! Wish there was breakfast but that’s okay because the place was so nice. Hallway smelt a little funny, but the room was completely fine.

The Denizen is sort of a fancy Residence Inn. Pros: Nice rooms and excellent proximity to restaurants and transportation in the McKinney area. Negatives: Its next to a freeway and the noise is significant. They only clean the room every 3 days, and that means no coffee replacements unless you ask for it. No in hotel cafe. Neither good or bad: It has a small kitchen. They do not have an ironing board or iron in the room. They provide a steamer in the room, which sort of works on suits and dresses, but not shirts. Overall a nice place and would stay again.

This is a brand new property conveniently located on the westbound service road of the Sam Rayburn Expressway (121) just west of Stacy in McKinney. It is not part of a chain (at least not yet) and has the feel of a boutique hotel. The front desk staff were all highly professional and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. Really no negatives, except for one slight surprise - there is no breakfast service, which we were told was a condition of their property lease since the hotel is surrounded by restaurants. There is a wide assortment of breakfast items available in the small market just off the lobby, but of course each item carries a charge (except for coffee and tea which are available both in the lobby area and in the rooms, and naturally that is free.) Wine, beer, soft drinks, and juices are also available for purchase in the lobby area. The absence of breakfast service was not an issue for us as we had plans to take our grandkids to brunch in downtown McKinney. Also, there is a nice casual restaurant with breakfast service a short walk from the front door of the hotel. We only mention this because these days it is customary for hotels in this price range to offer a free breakfast in the first floor common area. Probably more of an issue if you are traveling with kids. We loved everything about our room and will certainly return when we travel again to McKinney to visit our grandchildren.

The room was nice and the parking was plentiful. Great restaurants close by. Easy access to the expressway and McKenny. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Hopefully this will be our go-to for all our future trips to McKenny.

This was my first stay at the Denizen Hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed by its cleanliness, warm hospitality, and relaxing atmosphere. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable - far more so than those at many other hotels I’ve visited. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely stay here whenever I’m in town.

Very good hotel, I will share some things, but please know this was my experience and I would still stay at the hotel if i returned to that area. For the most part the room was clean. We did have a few issues BUT they weren’t so bad that I wouldn’t stay there again. We didn’t get enough info on check in so we didn’t realize we had to request cleaning service each day in our room. The dishes in the room were unfortunately not all cleaned properly. I would suggest having some dish soap and small scrub pad for each room along with the dishwasher soap, that is for the current guest and just in case the dishes need a little scrub before going into the dishwasher. The hallway had a funky smell, I think it’s from the carpet cleaning like mildew that didn’t dry properly. So it was kind of a turn off there. But other than that it was a very decent stay. The rest of the room was clean. The staff was very friendly, extremely actually. We watched a man even be unbelievably rude to the front desk clerk one day and she handled the situation with poise and professionalism.
