Kerveli enjoys wonderful sunrises as it is situated at the easternmost end of Samos, said to be the first place the sun strikes in Greece each morning. The hills around the bay are covered from cypress trees, olive groves and beautiful gardens, all the way down to the clear turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea. Across the sea, the coast of Asia Minor becomes visible as a colorful stripe of lights twinkling along its coastline and the port of Kusadasi. As the summer progresses the rising of the moon gets more spectacular, appearing as a huge ball over the mountains creating a moon path in the sea. In the bay there is Kerveli and Platanaki beach, both are shingle beaches which become sandy a little while after you walk into the sea. The water is shallow making it ideal for children and non confident swimmers. The calm water in the bay is perfect for exploring the sea-life and snorkeling. Some shade is provided by the tamarisk trees.
