Hotel is very close to the main square in the old Town. You dont actually deal with anyone for the check in, it is done on line and by messages. The room was okay, a little on the small side and basic with a view onto concrete walls from the window. The shower could really do with a screen rather than a curtain as water goes all over the bathroom floor. No aircon and because of there being no air flow from the window, the room was stifling. Breakfast was very good and it wasn’t until we had nearly finished, we found out the staff will cook eggs for you but it isn’t mentioned anywhere. The guy who checked me out was really nice but the staff are not very visible, they are in a back room with the door closed so you can end up waiting until someone comes out if you need anything. I would stay again if only for the location.

This small hotel is recently under new ownership and the rooms are in the process of being refurbished. We had a lovely newly refurbished family room but also saw a double room that was very dated. The common areas are also very old fashioned and badly in need of renovation. However the charming new owner clearly has a plan for both the rooms and the cafe and we wish him every success as I’m sure he can retain the character of the hotel whilst bringing it into the 21st century.

We were visiting during a heat wave in Europe. This hotel is a historic building so there is no AC. The young man that works there made sure we had 2 fans which were helpful. The breakfast was great. The WiFi was not great. Other than that, this hotel is a short walk from the train station and perfect location inside the medieval wall. I would definitely go back-- just not during a heat wave again.

Spotlessly clean and very well maintained room. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. The only fault really was the automated check in - which is a gimmick too far. If there are no staff around you have to phone them anyway - if there are staff there then there's no reason why they can't check you in. Apart from that - 5 stars.
