Best Western Gas City

A nice little hotel in small town Indiana. Front desk attendant was proactive and helpful with a check in issue, she was kind and attentive until it was resolved. Room and bathroom were clean.

The lady at the front desk when I checked in was just lovely. She couldn't have been more pleasant and nice. She's a keeper.

Clean Room, Friendly Staff, Breakfast Good, Did not use the Gym/Pool

Super easy checkin when we arrived after midnight. Big clean room. Friendly staff. Breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast but good enough to take on the road.

We like this property because of the price and the proximity for our needs, and the rooms are generally comfortable, and the breakfast is decent for what you are . We only had 2 issues during our stay. 1) Our bathroom was in disrepair. A towel bar on the wall was broken, the metal/chrome plating on the left sink handle was partially peeling off with a sharp edges exposed that cut a family member’s hand, there was noticeable mold and mildew on edges of the shower wall, the shower curtain was too small to cover the opening, the exhaust vent was filthy, the shower curtain bar was not secured properly to the wall and therefore the curtain would not stay in place as desired, and a hole/gap was visible near the base of the toilet, among other things. 2) Customer Service orientation. During our 3rd breakfast (of our three night stay) there were some items missing in the breakfast area 45 minutes before breakfast was to close, and when I brought it to the attention of someone at the front desk, the response I received from one employee was, “Well I like to have things kind of wrapped up by now… but I’ll do it” (but they weren’t happy to do so, and they made that clear). In contrast, all of the other staff people I encountered there were very helpful and friendly. Perhaps that one employee had a rough night of sleep or something like that, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience that we would expect from employees at a major hotel chain.
