While the restaurant staff, especially the chefs, were great, this former Holiday Inn Express looks like it is being run down. No air conditioning, a table for you to put laptop but no chair for it (and no response from desk when requested), tv kept changing channels (possibly from guest next door) - again reported this and no action taken. When I moved the sofa, the amount of dirt underneath it was frightening.

Second time stayed here. This was a bad experience. Got to room. Dirty bedsheets ,hairs and stains. Yuk. Had not been changed. Had to go to reception to complain. Got changed out. Next day asked them to make up our room as we went out. But its ok. No need to change sheets as a 2 night stay. Came back. Did nothing to the room. Beds unmade. Dirty towels still lying on the bathroom floor. Left fresh towels and some tea bags. Unbelievable. The Indian owners have no idea as to how to run a hotel. If you want a cheap bed for the night and filth does not bother you. Then by all means stay here. If these things matter pick another hotel. The reason for second visit was had a voucher. Never again. Wont ever go near the place again. Also AC does NOT work throughout the hotel. If you are lucky you get a fan for your room. Also all hotel room windows do not open. Enjoy the heat and smell in the hot weather. Avoid this place unless its a cheap room for the night. And filth does not bother you as you have travelled throughout the third world.

The reception has no welcoming feeling, no personality, no “looking forward to the next couple of nights here” feeling, it’s dead. The lower car park is overgrown and a bit grotty in places. The room had a strange smell even with the window open, air conditioning and ventilation not working, it’s Aberdeen so the air conditioning not a major issue, but the extraction in the shower/toilet is maybe why the room was a little smelly, after a shower the bathroom was still steamy 30 mins later, so no air flow to extract the stream away. The bedroom window hasn’t been cleaned in years, it was filthy, the room just needs to be hoovered properly, the only place to sit in the room was the sofa, and it wasn’t in the best condition, again grubby and damp. The bed was ok and the sheet, pillow and duvet cover were clean. A kettle with no cups, tea bags, coffee, sugar or milk, is strange, if your not going to supply the basics in term of refreshments, don’t have a kettle in the room (unless it’s used for hot water to wash with, when the hot water in the sink runs cold) I have stayed in cleaner Hostels sharing a room with 3 other people, with one bathroom. The present owners need to put their own stamp on this place, inject some life back into it, or it will go the same way as the previous owners The Holiday Inn Express which closed its doors around 2020, shame really, a bit of TLC.

Awful. Air con broken on the hottest day of the year and mentioned this to hotel 3 times and totally ignored. Room unbearably hot. £5 per day car park charge which is nonsense for a hotel inbthe middle of nowhere.

Former Holiday Inn Express, now part of the Belvilla group, operating under the OYO brand. Five floors of 29 rooms, plenty of parking but an additional £5 per night. No catering, but there are a couple of adjacent fast food and coffee drive-thrus, a nearby petrol station and M&S Foodhall. Odd number rooms have a seaview. Good rates, especially for the standard of room. Certainly would return.

This was cheap for 3 of us. Rooms were clean. Just be aware there is no AC in the hotel. As it does not work as per chap at reception. He gave us a large fan to use which was ok for one night. Its not the most photogenic hotel and entrance. But for one night it was ok. Shower and toilet was very clean.

Entry to hotel was through basement which was littered with cigarette ends, coffee cups and trash bins overflowing. Could not locate my booking confirmation No Bar No food No housekeeping Originally booked for 2 nights only stayed for 1 as corridors were full of take away boxes and rubbish. The photo is wrong in the picture (Holiday Inn) actual hotel is the Holiday Inn Express 9Former) which is at the back of the original Holiday Inn. Noise from 4am in car park as workers travelling to Rigs and construction

The reception was difficult to find with poor signage and the front wentrance is not the entrance. The carpark is fairly well lit once you know where to go and the condition of the second building / actual hotel was in a reasonable condition. Check-in was straightforward with lifts up to the room. On arraval at the room we were greated with a hot room unfortunately the air conditioning did not work and windows are fixed closed (sign says use air-conditioning to regulate heat). The room was clean and in good condition although the tv didn’t work and the hair dryer and kettle PAT testing was 8 months out of date. Reception was unable to fix the tv although did manage to get wifi connected but couldn't access all online services like iplayer. Lots of noise through thin walls from noisy guests who were loud and swearing late in the evening, although can't blame the hotel for the actions of other guests. All above being said for £26 for the night whatit was only the excessive heat and noisy guests that really caused the biggest issue. Unfortunately I would not stay again unless the facilities ate fixed / updated to an acceptable standard.

The bathroom in our room was clean and useable, the sofa bed however was not suitable; the mattress didn’t even fit the whole bed, the pillows are years old the main bed sheets were stained. Our first experience was the lift which had fresh blood in i, this was not cleaned the whole visit. There is a kettle and few cups but nothing else. There is no place to get a coffee another resident had asked for alcohol but was advised bar was not open. This was not late at night.

Garbage in the parking lot. The sheets were clean but the bed was stained. No holder for toilet paper. The hotel has definitely seen better times.

Dirty room on entering- KFC packets, Chicken crumbs on the floor in multiple locations, someone’s dirty socks left by the bed, bathroom floor dusty and hair! No aircon and windows screwed shut. Duty manager and staff not professional

Refused to stay checked in then saw corridors unclean & smelt of drugs the place was dirty & unfit for purpose. I was physically sick after being in the hotel for a total of a max 20 minutes from checking in & then seeing the room & going straight back to reception & checking out.

The room was spotless and very well presented with all the facilities. I unsure how the keycode worked, however a member of room cleaning staff very approachable and helpful. My main grumble was trying to find entrance as main door redirected me around to back of building. This joureny around the side, also showed a dire need of litter/weeds tidy up. Overall, very good value for money and woould book again for similar price.

Did not like this place dirty old building stains ect no cups or facilities we asked for a family room but only got 1 bed charged £12 to park the car Car park had rubbish everywhere We ended up walking out after 3 hours

I recently booked a room at the above hotel. It was so disgustingly filthy I felt physically sick and could not stay. I reported the following issues to reception: The room had not been vacuumed for some time The room stank of urine and sweat The bed base was covered in body fluids The bathroom had not been cleaned and had chunks of pubic hair in the shower tray The window would not open for fresh air - it was so dirty I could not see out. The sheets were marked The corridors were deep in dust, the lift stank of urine, filthy lift walls. The car park on lower level had scrap metal and other rubbish dumped making it unsafe. This hotel does not meet any acceptable hygiene standards and should be investigated as a public health hazard. I attach photos of the above. Visitors to Aberdeen should be-able to stay in a clean room.

Was a single night so I didn’t complain but the hair dryer kettle didn’t work at all and the tv couldn’t get Chanel’s

Budget hotel. £24 a night. But it's actually a holiday inn express. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. WiFi actually is strong enough to use Netflix and prime. Pleased they've got the standard TV channels sorted.. I need a car jump start one morning and the guy on the counter didn't give it a second thought. Cheers mate. I stayed in the room for about 20 mins and returned to reception and told them about the broken window in my room and the unkept filthy condition of my room. They didn't seem to care about my complaint and uninterested in my complaints and couldn't care less when I said I was leaving. I will never use Hotels.com site again and will tell my friends the reason why.

Hotel was vastly overbooked with no rooms available for at least 9 guests while I was trying to check in. No communication of issue in advance to arrange alternate stay plans. No help or assistance with alternative location on site. A shambles really.

The outside side of the property doesn’t look inviting. Once inside it’s a different matter. Old Holiday Express building . For the price you can’t beat it.

Did not know there where no facilities ie bar or dining did not enjoy stay people on the move all night dog barking in hotel only set out for one person ie one cup one glass wouldn't recommend to anyone

The hotel had just been taken over from Holiday Inn Express and is in desperate need of updating and upgrading. Room carpet has definitely seen better days with stains etc. Sink didn’t hold water as the plug didn’t work! Although there was a kettle there was no tea or coffee and in fact the kettle was turned off. Bedside light didn’t work. Breakfast was extra and very little plant-based or vegetarian option. Despite all this, it was clean and bed was comfortable. They’re obviously going to be modernising it, but it needs to be done asap.
