Hampton Inn Charleston - Daniel Island

The hotel was in good condition, repairs done well. Always our first choice when traveling. Adults were unable to use swimming pool because of 8 children made it undesirable. It’s a small pool so with a bunch of loud, excited kids isn’t designed for adults who would actually like to swim. Front desk offered no solutions.

The hotel was doing water line maintenance and I ended up without use of water for 2 days of my stay. It was highly inconvenient and unsanitary.

Nice hotel, great area, centrally located. Room was very clean. Pet friendly with adequate green areas close by for walks, etc. Parking was plentiful. Pool area was nice.

They never cleaned our room. Was confirmed they would one morning only to arrive back at night and it wasn’t. The front desk was not helpful, and better understanding that only a Tesla charger is on-site, would have made the hotel more accomodating.

Room was very clean, but you needed to tell them if you wanted your room cleaned, bummer. Only real negative was the shower not hot at all. Fitness center was great. Breakfast was awesome!

All was good except the workout facility had a few machines that were t working. We let the front desk know.

The room was damp and had a wet dog smell. Expired , low level snacks in vending. Good breakfast . Great location to go to Credit one stadium for show. Pool was out of order but arrangements to use neighboring property's pool.

Excellent stay, they have Tesla destination Chargers.

The hotel lobby and breakfast area was nice. We came in at 6 PM and the hot water and the coffee were cold. One of the reasons we like to stay at Hampton Inn is for the hot coffee and hot water 24/7. When I mentioned this to the person at the desk, she went and got me a cup of hot water. What she should have done was replace the coffee and the hot water. Also, the woman in the breakfast area had long red hair that should’ve been pulled back into a ponytail. She was around the food, replacing things. But she was very nice. The pool was green and murky, and there’s no way I would’ve gone in it!

I love staying at this Hampton Inn should be the model for all Hampton Inn’s! Clean rooms, comfortable beds & pillows and decent amenities. Not fancy just safe, clean & comfy. Breakfast bar is decent, good selection and clean. Parking is plentiful and easy. You can walk to most shopping and dining on Daniel’s Island. Great place if your seeing a concert on Daniel’s Island or attending an event.

I want to be fair. The stay was overall very pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. I did request a room clean during our stay and was promised the next day service and also reminded the front desk on the day, but unfortunately neither of my rooms were cleaned. I called the front desk and they offered an apology. That was the only negative thing I could say about my stay. I would still give them 9/10.

The property was very convenient for our purposes and everyone was very courteous and helpful. One thing was, the hotel only changes towels and sheets every other day of your stay. We were there two nights and did not get maid service so had to arrange emptying our garbage and make our own bed (I called Guest Services and was told to leave our garbage outside our room, however, it wasn't picked up so I had to empty it on my own in a garbage unit where the ice machine was. A guest should not need to do that!) and did not get clean towels! When you pay close to $550 to stay at hotel for two nights, I expect a clean up in the room. It all worked out, but I think the policy is not a good one. We were also told we could not get a room receipt upon check out because we booked through Expedia! I don't understand that! All in all, the hotel was lovely. It was convenient, clean, and breakfast as good. We would stay at the Hampton Inn-Daniel Island again. It was convenient for our purposes!

The walk in shower is poorly designed. Water sprayed outside of the shower. Just a mess really. There was mold around the grab bars and shower tiles. The tile around the shower drain was cracked. No ventilation system in the bathroom. Carpet was dirty. Sheets are stiff. Our room was close to the elevator, so very noisey. Won't stay here again.

Room was not clean. Asked for a baby crib and was brought a pack and play covered in another child’s old spit up. My husband also cut his foot on a piece of glass that was in the carpet. Nothing was done for any of the issues.

The front desk staff were very kind, but the room and the breakfast area definitely lacking. We found 2 live bugs in the room. We notified the desk, they said they treated. The next morning we found one moving on a pillow. The shower had two setting freezing or scalding hot. The handle would not stay at a normal temp. When searching to see if there were more bugs, to see if there was debris from possible bed bugs, we found old liquor bottles and moldy skittles. At breakfast, the attendant dropped tongs on the floor, picked them up and put them directly back on the counter. I asked him if he was going to replace them and he acted like I was crazy. He ultimately didn’t replace them. Needless to say we opted to not eat the breakfast. This is not Hilton hotel quality and we will not be backs

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well kept and the front desk staff are outstanding.

Typical Hampton Inn property. Good location if you are doing anything in Daniel Island. My big complain is the bathroom shares a "barn door" with the closet. This leaves a sizeable gap between the door and door frame. If you are traveling with someone and don't need them seeing or hearing you in the bathroom, this is an absolute deal breaker. Who in their right mind designed and approved this?

Room was clean. Bathroom needs updating. Shower door was broken and the “wood” floor in the bathroom is rippled and coming up.

Front desk staff were excellent. The rooms and bathrooms / bedding were tired . Could do with facelift .

2 free bottles of water at check-in is a nice touch. Room is very clean. Shower is safe though towels too small. Chair is actually a strange sofa that didn’t allow me to sit up, though there was a good desk chair. Bed OK. Don’t know why they set the frig to not make things cold so I have to adjust it. Decent breakfast. Need to get there early for bananas. No cereal I eat. Good omelets and bread. Nice service. Vending machines inconsistent. Nothing nearby to walk to. Good location for the tennis tournament.

Room was clean and spacious but slightly outdated. Needs a refresh but otherwise not a bad place to spend the weekend

The room was very clean. Not great service for check in. Beds kind of sucked, sad queen-size pillows for a king bed and a really hard bed. Other than that; clean, nice enough staff, good for a quick night or two.

Great hotel! I’m glad we decided to spend a little extra and stay close to Credit One Stadium for the concert because it was worth it. It was within walking distance to the stadium, as well as the restaurants nearby. Plus, the customer service was excellent and the room was very clean. They allowed us to check-in an hour early, and the rooms have very large TVs in them (important to my husband) with the ability to login to your streaming accounts, as well as mini fridges. The bed is of normal comfort, and the AC gets really cold (important to me). We didn’t get a chance to use the pool or fitness center but they looked really nice. The breakfast had good variety and was well stocked. Would definitely stay here again if there’s another concert at Credit One Stadium in our future!

It was okay. I got a call confirming our arrival and was told I could check in early on the app. Tried to do it only to find out since we booked 3rd party we couldn't when we went into the hotel. Then while I was talking to the lady on the phone she said our room most likely would be ready if we got there early. Got there early and it wasn't ready. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes and 45 minutes went by and still wasn't ready. Then I got told oh well check in actually isn't till 4 so it was closer to the actual time so they weren't late. Even though the lady that called me at 2 told me that it was pretty much done and it would be okay to come in early. Then we finally got our room and went to put some food in the fridge and the door fell right off. Also the bed wasnt comfortable at all. Despite the fact that the location was close to where we were having to go it wasn't the best Hampton I stayed it

We enjoyed our visit and would definitely choose to stay there again if we are back in town. Katrina was wonderful at check in. We arrived the same time as several other guests, and she was very efficient but also friendly and kind. My daughter and I really appreciated her customer service! Breakfast was also a huge hit for us. My daughter especially loved the whipped cream for topping waffles. The breakfast bar was kept stocked and very tidy. They really pay attention to details here. Thank you for a great stay!

The hotel was great, though they put me in a room with a single bed and I had to switch rooms halfway through my trip to have the two beds I booked. They also charged my credit card for the stay that I booked through Expedia and it has not yet been refunded.

I showed up for my reservation at this property to go to a concert with friends. They had overbooked the hotel and didn't have a room available. I offered to be in a different bed configuration (king instead of two beds) and they said they didn't have that available. That nothing was available. TJ then told me to go to Mt. Pleasant - over a half hour away with traffic, where they arranged a room for me. We then ubered back and forth and were late to the concert. There wasn't a manager (Elizabeth/Michelle - she is the same person, fyi, or the GM) available - which was unbelievable given it was a huge concert night. TJ said that I would be comped the room for the night and refunded when staff got in on MONDAY (again, no management for two days???) Well, it's Monday and I just received this message from Expedia Group that "After speaking with Hampton Inn Charleston - Daniel Island, they've confirmed that you were relocated on a different hotel at their expenses and they declined your refund request." When I called to speak to Elizabeth/Michelle she stated that they "made good" by sending me to a different hotel and when I brought up the amount paid to stay close to the concert venue vs. being shipped out to another property, she actually said: "you don't know how much our property made off of your reservation." Seems pretty simple. I had a reservation that I paid a premium for, in a premium property, premium location that was not fulfilled.

Our stay was enjoyable, gentleman at front desk at time of check in was not very friendly.

Stayed for an annual car show just down the road. We've stayed here in the past and will do so in the future. The person who checked me in was very courteous and professional. Check in on me by text to make sure all was good.

Both employees at the front desk were so friendly, kind and helpful. The room was very clean and quiet. Linens were nice, and the bed was super comfortable. Didn’t really like the barn door style closure for the bathroom but no big deal. Everything else more than made up for that. The free breakfast was amazing. As an early riser, I really appreciate coffee being available super early.

The front desk was very accommodating . We were staying next to a young family and asked for a room change if possible due to the noise. The front desk clerk gave us a new room immediately. The staff was friendly.

You and Hampton purposely overbooked and we did not get our room. Staff was I’ll equipped to problem solve and left us stranded with no where to stay even though we booked weeks in advanced and pre payed.

It was a great hotel to stay to access all of Charleston had to offer. We went to a concert at the Credit One arena and it was walking distance. However they had a free shuttle to and from the concert. Easy drive to downtown and our new favorite place is Shem Creek. Great restaurants and sunsets.

The breakfast was good. Parking was easy. I have been staying here for the last 4 years when i travel to Charleston. Perfect location and Daniels island though getting very crowded still has great spots for dinning and walking.

If you’re going to a concert this is an excellent place to stay. Walking distance to Credit One stadium! Great value.

Convenient location to visit my sister. This property is beautiful and the staff are all professional and kind. The breakfast they have is exceptional.

Property was excellent. Room was clean bed comfortable. Area was right off the main route. Easy to get everything in Charleston. Will book this hotel again. The only downside was the hot breakfast was just lukewarm. Maybe an off day. Still happy with the hotel.

Very nice area. A little overpriced for frequent stay. Did not have oatmeal for breakfast, which is a no-no in my book.
