It was the most beautiful spot of natural beauty right on the Ashley River and a half hour from Charleston. The architecture was stunning and allowed us to feel like we were in nature whether we were in our bed, at breakfast, or in the Lodge, thanks to the oversized walls of glass in all buildings. Hammocks hanging in trees were inviting and helped us have the most relaxing retreat from the hectic pace life often demands. Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Rooms were very clean. Hot breakfasts daily at the Lake House were delicious and the complimentary offerings at the Lodge for Happy Hour and the Nightcap every evening were unexpected surprises. We are booking another stay later this summer even though we just got home to Greenville 3 days ago. The only recommendation I have is to ask for a first floor room if walking up a long flight of cement steps would be a challenge.
