Large “old style” motel but well maintained. Reception area nicely updated with friendly and helpful staff. The hidden gem is the pub - small cozy atmosphere, good drinks & surprising delicious food. Wish our stay could of been longer to enjoy the pool and other amenities.

Great shuttle service ( complimentary!) to get meals at several tests and bring them to you on the beautiful terrace or your groom or it will take you to the restaurants! And staff very friendly!! Just wish they offered full breakfast! Other than that we will definitely be back when need to stay in Albany!

Pool was out of service and that was one of the main reason we chose Merry Acres. The A/C unit in our room was dismal at best. Coffee maker in our room took FOREVER to make one cup and then overflowed. Upon arrival, the ice bucket had melted water in it from previous usage. The complimentary breakfast is basically frozen food that must be microwaved. Nothing freshly made. The television is to small for the size of the room. On a positive note, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Property definitely needs upgrading!

The property is unique and a motel style which is charming. Our room was not very clean, the floor was sticky and seems like it needs a good scrubbing. There was left over bread in the refrigerator from a previous guest, our bath towels had toothpaste and hair on them from a previous guest so have a hunch the towels were not replaced after the previous guest. The pillows only had a cover on them and no encasement which is not very hygenic.

This is a pretty decent place for the price. Safe and the pub on-site was perfect after a long day of traveling. The only negative I have is that during the evening, a very large cockroach ran across my floor. I killed it and flushed it down the toilet. I grew up in the country and am an avid camper, so incidents like that generally don't bother me. Plus, all the rooms are at ground level, so you can expect that from time to time.

I have to speak up about this motel. First of all, its a motel, not a hotel. It's advertised as a "boutique-style hotel." Its quite simply not true. Unfortunately, there is nothing "boutique" about it except the room rate. The rooms barely measure up to a run-of-the-mill, one star motel. There is not one luxury amenity to be found. Anywhere. I tried hard to find one. The floors are bare without one rug. Bathroom counter is extremely dated. The tub had mildew in spots. I didn't shower in it because of it. There was also little room to move around. I wipe down everything with clorox wipes due to the covid risk in public places. I rarely see in other rooms, the amount of gunk that accumulated on those wipes. I felt as though we were being exposed to much uncleanliness. The room did have sufficient towels and pillows. However, neither the towels nor the linens were plush or luxurious. The window didn’t have blackout curtains. It only had a very inexpensive, rather sheer curtain in the middle. The heavier curtains only covered a quarter of the window, at best. Therefore, the room wasn't dark nor conducive to renewing sleep. If a motel intends to elevate its stature by calling itself a boutique, it must provide luxury amenities. Welcome basket, soft robes, extreme cleanliness along with those aforementioned issues being resolved, perhaps a concierge, would posture Merry Acres Inn as a true boutique hotel. Good luck!

While the property is older, the room had all the modern features as a new hotel,(coffee maker,microwave, fridge, hair dryer etc.) The room was spotless! Beds were comfortable and the location of the room was quiet. The check in was quick and efficient, the clerk lovely and friendly. We did not partake of the breakfast, as we left to early to enjoy it. All in all a perfectly pleasant and budget friendly experience.

Also, every time the air turned on to cycle during the night it made a horrendous sound that kept waking me up. The toilet had been broken at one point and glued back together instead of replaced. When we arrived the office was under construction and it wasn't convenient to register. The pool was also under construction and were not able to use it. There was no prior notice of the construction. The king bed was comfortable but the room was in need of updates. It was also not as clean as you would expect for the price. Two roosters and many chickens roamed the property which didn't bother us but I can see how some people would object. The location was close to a very nice brewery and the Flint River park.

Rooster on site started crowing at 5:00 am. Room was clean, bathrooms need to be refurbished, cracks in tile and tub. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Air conditioner was old and loud, did not keep room cool during the night. I’m not sure how this place got such a high rating.

The hotel was clean, had everything we needed, and was conveniently located. However, the roosters on the property woke us up at 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and the surrounding neighbors in other rooms were very loud when they unloaded into their rooms around 11:00 p.m. Were it not for our very poor sleep we would have given a higher score.

It’s a motel and nothing close to merry. This was so horribly bad that it became comical. I booked the “executive suite” (nothing suite about it - average size room) and they put us RIGHT next to the loud pub and registration building. Finally the pub noise dwindled down around 1am, but then roosters started at 3:30am and never stopped - only getting closer and closer to our room windows… After finally tuning them out and starting to relax a little, one of the workers started having a LOUD (actually yelling) conversation right by our window at 7:30am. And then housekeeping opened the door at 8am and again at 9am even after I said “no thank you!”. We gave up on sleep and had headaches the rest of the day, all for the price of $150. In summary: rude staff, misleading pictures, damp/old room, broken door handle, rooster and dog noises … the list goes on. The only single redeeming quality was the shower water pressure. That was actually impressively good. Otherwise, total ripoff.

The staff were wonderful, but this place is just overall run down. It really didn't look anything like the pictures, far more dated, bathtub "gross" to me (I have high cleanliness standards), there was a dead bug on my bed the first night, the bed was soft (I need firm), and the area it is in didn't feel safe to me - there were police sirens and officials on megaphones daily. I also booked through Expedia but got a bill at the front desk when I checked out that didn't match - I have emailed to ask about that but have not heard back from anyone, it has been about a week. I am definitely not thrilled with the amount I paid for this property and don't agree at all that it deserves any sort of 8/10 rating.. I really hate saying this, though, because the staff were super friendly and wonderful - it is not their fault the hotel is "run down" or that it is located where it is - they did, though, put me in the back of the property, which I super appreciated, to be back away from the main street (which didn't feel safe to me).

The service that I received was exceptional. When I got in very, very late to the airport, Jacob and Sean took care of me. Jacob was the friendly voice on the phone when I called from Atlanta to let the hotel know what time I was flying in to Albany and needed to be picked up. Sean was there to pick me up and made sure that I got checked in with Jacob and settled in my room. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. Sean was there to pick me up and made sure that I got checked in with Jacob and settled in my room. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. I was concerned initially when I wasn’t able to get anyone on the phone. I wish the message when you call the number from the website would just direct you to the number to get a person or say the phone number on the message. You have to pull up your email confirmation to find a phone number. The room was pretty clean. However there was a bit of dirt and dust on the floors in the corners. Bathrooms could definitely benefit from an upgrade but overall had everything I needed for a night. I had to walk around for a good 10 minutes trying to find the ice machine before finally going to the pub to get some. Bartender was very friendly and quick to help. I love the quaintness and character of the place. So cute. Felt like something in a movie set. Very nostalgic. I loved being able to park directly in front of my room. So convenient! Coffee in my room was good but the creamer was probably over 10 years old. I would have loved to have real cream for coffee in the lobby. Great stay overall. Will be back next time I’m visiting family in Albany. We’d much rather spend money to a local business than a Hilton or Hampton, or big corporation.

A safe haven in Albany. Friendly cordial check-in. Clear concise instructions on how to get to the immaculately clean room. The TV remote was easy to use. The on-site chickens were a charming surprise I woke up to a rooster crowing which was definitely a unique experience at a hotel. Don't worry, he's not an early riser. Checkout was fast. I will definitely book here next time.

Merry Acres Inn is an iconic landmark in Albany. While it is an old school inn the owners have done a great job keeping it updated while maintaining its charm. There is a shuttle that will take you to any of the three restaurants the owners own in town. There is also a great hangout bar at the Manor House which is at the hotel. There is a chance of a rooster crowing at your door early in the morning which was just another added special feel to this place.

I needed a place for an overnight stay and Merry Acres served that purpose. The bed was comfortable and the shower water was hot so I had a good stay. There's an on-site eating/drinking establishment that I didn't visit so I can't rate and it's only a very short drive to other eating and shopping places in the area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and I would not have a problem staying here again.

The service that I received was exceptional. When I got in very, very late to the airport, Jacob and Sean took care of me. Pool was out of service and that was one of the main reason we chose Merry Acres. The A/C unit in our room was dismal at best. Coffee maker in our room took FOREVER to make one cup and then overflowed. Upon arrival, the ice bucket had melted water in it from previous usage. The complimentary breakfast is basically frozen food that must be microwaved. Nothing freshly made. The television is to small for the size of the room. On a positive note, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Property definitely needs upgrading!
