Heat didn’t work in the room. Apparently it was an issue with the entire hotel. Also, the pool heater wasn’t functional so it wasn’t usable.

Hotel is under renovation, so I did understand some issues, but some were unacceptable, especially for a Hilton properties. The rooms were ok, however ours was next to a stairwell and exit to the outside and construction workers were slamming the door all day rattling the wall, so make sure you insist on being away from exits/entrances. Here's where it was unacceptable: The hotel had no hot water on 5/11 (mother's day) and we could not even shower. Calling the front desk, I got an answer of " yea, well the place is under renovation - everything in this place sucks right now". This is a Hilton property for God's sake, not the motel 6 - make it right given the price per night. And Hilton - This is a college town - It is dead in June and July or even BEFORE in March! Why the hell would you schedule renovations for the entire month of May when you have the U of R and RIT have commencement as well as mothers day?!? The Gym was closed as well which my wife was looking forward to using. Also, I booked this back in November and was given NO update by the hotel (an e-mail would have been nice) that they were going to be doing renovations. What Hilton should have done is send and e-mail to notify and say something like due to the renovations, we will be giving you $25 off the cost of rooms, or free breakfast (which is not included normally)...Something - anything to compensate. Will not be staying here again.

Chose this property for airport shuttle service and called prior to flight to confirm late night airport pickup availability. Receptionist assured that shuttle service is available and to call when I arrive. When I did arrive prior to midnight (earlier than expected), called and was told that deiver left for the night. Very unreliable and annoying esp because there were plenty other lower priced / higher value hotel property options I could have chose!

The hotel facility was attractive and initially we were impressed. However, lack of readily available drinking water was a negative. Most hotels have some water in the lobby. The ice machine on our floor (2) was broken and looked like it had been for some time. There was water available to buy for $4 a bottle. Asked for a towel and bar of soap in the evening on our way up to the room but it never arrived to our door. The room housekeeping job was good, but there was a towel and some garbage on floor in hallway from the evening into the next morning when we left. We didn’t get to use the pool but it looked nice.

The elevator was not working properly. Would only go up from lobby, would not come to any floor summoned, had to take the stairs down from the 6th floor every time. Room, lobby, staff, bar and vibes were all nice but the elevator situation really brought the stay down.

Hotel is old but clean and has friendly staff overall. I was unhappy on the first day when I was denied for a shuttle service to attend my graduation ceremony next day. I was told to call for taxi service. On that day, I spent $50 on taxi. My last day was great as they gave us shuttle service to other locations like to/from Highland park and airport. I wish they provide a clear statement regarding this excellent shuttle service upfront which will attract more clients, I think!

It seems like this hotel has been under construction for several years now and have not made it to the rooms yet. I understand the dining and events area is a selling perk. However, the main reason for needing a hotel is for a room to sleep in. The rooms are in dire need of upgrades. It was evident the hallways had not been vacuumed in days. The paint, tub, walls and floors are subpar. The chair had a large rip in it. The wall outlets didn't have covers and some didn't work at all. Most of all the elevator were not fully operational and had to use the stairs from the 5th floor.

Filthy room, atrocious manager, (you know who you are). We booked a room with a sofa bed. When we were ready to use it, to our horror, we found blood on the bed. We didn’t use the bed and alerted staff in the morning. We also found a brewed coffee cup in the coffee maker. It looked like it had sat there for at least a week. Back to the BLOOD. We alert the manager. She said she would send the head of housekeeping to my room to talk to me, then they would figure out the solution. The manager arrived. I showed her the BLOOD. She offered to switch out the mattress. She proceeded to bring in another mattress. I noticed a LARGER stain on the replacement mattress. Her response, “I made sure it was clean on top.” I told her the resolution was unacceptable and asked what else could be done. The housekeeping manager told me that was the best she could do. I went back to the manager. She was abrasive and unprofessional. She said they would give me the equivalent of a large pizza in points. I told her that I did NOT use points and I did not want any points. I also asked if they would be willing to offer anything off on our stay as we would be there for several nights. The manager told me that we were welcome to LEAVE and she would not offer anything off of the large bill with a BLOODY mattress. My husband looked at a different room with yet a larger stain. He was also told he could LEAVE. STAY AWAY. FILTHY!

A truly terrible stay. I chose this hotel because it’s part of the Hilton brand, which I expected to be trustworthy overall—but the cleanliness was shockingly poor, to an unacceptable degree. The floors in the public areas were covered with dust and litter (as shown in the photos). When I first entered the room, there was even a soda can sitting on the windowsill—absolutely speechless. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. Additionally, the air conditioner in the room was as loud as a tractor—it was so noisy that it was nearly impossible to sleep.

The photos are pretty deceptive, this place is an outdated dump. My room was dirty, hair & pubes in the bed & bathroom areas, filthy bathtub… and I wouldn’t feel safe staying here as a woman, because a huge portion if not all the rooms have a “balcony” sliding door that unlocks with a simple sliding lock that barely locks. There also happened to be a ton of construction in the weird humid atrium where the pool & bar are. I don’t know who’d want to spend time down there even if there weren’t construction going on

We stayed here a few years ago and it was fantastic. Sad to see how it’s declined. The staff were rude and the room is disgusting. Wallpaper is bubbled, grout in the bathroom is filthy, vents are SO DIRTY. Leak in the lobby when we first arrived should have been my sign to leave.

We stayed during remodeling. I think we were in an older room because the wall paper was peeling. The room was awkward in it's set up and the bathroom had no fan. Lastly, you couldn't watch/hear the tv with the air on. Thank goodness for closed captions. Despite this, the room was clean and the cooling and heating worked great. The food in both places to eat was dry but not a deal breaker. The pool looked great. The little store was well stocked. However, there are no energy drinks. Not even at the bar. Front desk was nice, only one person there smiled. The rest were kind of gloomy. My main concern was that I was told there will be shuttle service and we just need to tell them in advance so we can make sure they have a driver. We were able to get picked up from the airport and that was it. When I asked to set up shuttle service again back to the airport so we can rent a car, (last minute idea), they said they had no one for the weekend. I asked if I had shuutle service on the day of departure, they said yes. Before returning the car, I checked again about a shuttle for departure and they said that their shuttles are no longer working because they've been broken into and vandalized. I'm glad I asked because no one called or texted me that there would not be a shuttle. The experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I expected more.

The design of the building is very poor. If you have a room with a balcony that overlooks the center of the hotel, all sounds filter up to your room. There was a function until midnight. We could hear noise and conversations even up the 4th floor. Also, vents in the rooms are connected. We could hear the TV loud and clear at 1 am from the room above us through the vent.

The lobby looked great, with bar and trees and skylight. Unfortunately my room was weird. It was on the ground floor facing the bar. I couldn’t really open the curtains even a bit. And the lights in my room were all pretty dimmed, not in a warm way, but in a bluish cold way.

Hallways and rooms are outdated. Shower heads are terrible. To close the room door for room 137, you literally have to lift up and slam your body into it. There’s rust in the tub. My first room 606 was 80 degrees and the AC didn’t work.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff were great. The bed--not so much. The mattress was so hard that I ended up sleeping on the loveseat in the room because the bed hurt my back so much.

This hotel has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. I loved it when we first walked in and so many other things. It just needs to be renovated. I feel like once they are finished with there renovation this hotel can easily be one of the best if not THE. The location plus the architecture is really a chefs kiss. The only reason why I rated it the way I did is, you can TELL its old. If hilton comes in and does a complete facelift so many people would easily come here. I really hope corprate would just bite it and just do a complete renvovation. I would go back and would LOVE to through a huge birthday party but I KNOW my quest would complain as they like the likes of something like woodcliff, fountaine bleu etc. BUT THIS! For my hometown with renovations would be such a TIME. GREAT HOTEL, just needs to be updated.

VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED! The only housekeeping service we received was fresh Bath towels. No other service was given. Someone could have at least made our bed. I could not recommend this property to anyone, especially for the price that was paid.

We arrived on the evening of 1/19/25. There was a large crowd watching a sporting event in the main lobbies and dining area. It was about 8pm and I was told that they crowd would most likely be gone by 9pm. At 1030 pm the crowd was still downstairs keeping my 3 year old daughter up. I called the front desk to complain and was told that they were working on it. We drastically changed our plans for the following day because we had to sleep in to catch up on the rest that we missed the night before.

Traveled 6 hours up to Rochester for our son’s graduation. Booked this room 8 months prior. 10 minutes to arrival we get a call from the hotel saying they had an issue with the block of rooms on our floor. Not sure what but Jennifer M told us they got us a room in another Marriott hotel a little further away. At first disheartened I was pleasantly surprised that the room was a great alternative. Surprising since it was a graduation weekend for two colleges. So no, I didn’t stay at the Double Tree but Jennifer M deserves to be recognized for her exemplary service. We had a great graduation weekend in Rochester. Double Tree even comped the room. Thanks for saving our weekend for us,

The property was under construction. To start off, no rooms were available with our requested configuration of two double beds. Because of this, they gave an upgrade to one of their renovated rooms. The hotel was not ready as the renovated rooms had non functioning door locks, broken doors, and all kinds of other problems. For a fairly large property (I estimate 200 or so rooms/ there was ONE functioning elevator. Additionally, for checkin, there was one person on duty. This was during move in weekend for two nearby universities. They were completely unprepared. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes to register. Then we discovered there was no phone in the room. When attempt to call the front desk using my cell phone, the number was out of order. There was No Way to contact housekeeping except to walk back down to the front desk. When I informed them of the problem , they indicated that that knew about the phone line problem. I wouldn't expect these issues in a budget hotel, but to have this in an upscale hotel is unacceptable.

Staff was great, they took care of some of the issues I had, and I feel that once renovations are done it will improve. My first room was a 1 star nightmare (dry vomit in the shower, and on the carpet). My biggest pet peeve is a shower that wont drain, and in this room it would back up. They moved me to another room and my next room for day two was 5 stars - except it had a dirty hand towel in the bathroom…I know reno’s are tough but this was a bad visit sadly. If you need to book here try booking with the site directly. I feel like using Expedia I got put in a room the front desk would have probably not put me in…

The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I had realized that I was going to have a hold on my card for incidentals. The hold was placed with the explanation it would come off of my card immediately after I was checked out but that did not occur. Thankfully, I did not need the money to be released immediately but a realistic timeframe would have been appreciated. Otherwise I would stay here again with my family.

The only reason I gave a star is because no star isn’t a choice. Stay away. Staff is rude, hotel is dirty and infested with fruit flies. At check out we found out someone charged a meal to our room and they were going to just charge us if I would not have fought it. They need to be ashamed of themselves and I will let everyone know to stay away. To have a horrible stay and have staff treat you horribly is unacceptable. I will be contacting corporate.

Check in was ridiculous. No rooms ready on time, and when they finally gave us a room key the room was occupied when we entered! They did remedy it but it was not ok. Elevators out of order when we checked in, and no phone in our room when we finally did get one. Very disappointing.

Unbelievable customer service! Thank you for your friendliness and willingness to help. Many employees went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I have not experienced this in a hotel in a very long time.

This is my favorite hotel in the Henrietta area. It is the best hotel I've stayed at when at RIT. The hotel itself is very nice. Rooms as comfortable. The breakfast is great. Close to RIT and shopping. Lots of dining options. Never a problem.

The room and service were excellent. My one complaint was the breakfast buffet. The “hot” food was cold. Otherwise everything was great. I may come back next time I visit, but I will avoid the breakfast buffet.

My son goes to RIT which is less than 10 minutes away and we have stayed here 3 or 4 times. Rooms are comfortable and the pool and gym are very good. But my favorite part is the food here. The breakfast is excellent whether its the buffet or omelettes etc. The restaurant and bar is in the center of the place next to the pool and under a large atrium full of trees. Excellent salmon, wine and salads. always a highlight. My wife did complain that the bathroom didn't have a vent and she takes a very longggggg shower. Breakfast was a long wait as they were understaffed. Oh don't forget to ask for the chocolate chip cookies.!!

Over priced! 1. $15 breakfast was terrible. Hot food wasnt even hot..french toast stick? For $15 make me actual french toast. No orange juice. Coffee was burnt. Ive had free breakfast that has put this to shame. 2. This is a 40 yr old biluilding that look great inside. But the walls are so thin we had to lisyen to our neighbors tv until they went to sleep. 2nd night when our other neighbors came at 3am from the bar we were woken by their drunken banter. 3. The tube in our room was sloped so steep it was actually uncomfortable to stand in. Come on Hilton, if you want to consider yourself top of the food chain you need to step up your game.

We chose to do a staycation with a few other families because of amenities the hotel offered. The pool was freezing!! The room had a QR code to scan for food and other services. The site said room service was available, I tried the extension provided multiple times no answer. When I spoke to guest services she advised “they got a late start today”and that’s separate from the hotel and not her area. I went to the restaurant to place an order and was advised they no longer do room service but the website and staff all had different answers. At that point I was very annoyed with 2 young children that did not want to sit and eat in a restaurant. Our room was ok, but the king bed seemed much smaller and would consider it more of a queen size.

Check in was wonderful! The lady was very helpful and just a delight! Went down to the bar for a drink. Sat at a table waited for order to be taken, waited even longer to get our drinks. No follow up to see how we were doing. Had to go back up to bar to place another drink order. Long wait again for the to be brought over. Next night went down to order dinner to take back to the room. Gave me a menu and pointed out at least 5 things that they did not have. I ordered salmon and a Ceasar salad. The bill was incorrect the salmon was not added. Waited over 30 minutes while others were served. My order got lost?? or they just did not bring it out?? not sure what was whispered between the bar tender and the cook. while sitting there the 2 gentlemen sitting next to me received their meals. I asked what they ordered as I did not see it on the menu. I would have preferred the fish dinner. The menu I received as I was not a full menu. The Lady Bartender had no sense of urgency to wait on the guests and kept blaming everything on a new system.

Very noisy. They rent out the pool on weekends for birthday parties So using the pool is almost impossible. Kids running around all over the place while the parents sit at the bar. Also seems like the elevators -only 2 next to each other -seem to be the entertainment for the teenagers. Wait time is 10-15 min. while they fool around riding up and down. Breakfast at the Bistro is $16 for cold horrible food and they ran out of coffee by 9:45 am. I usually don’t write reviews but unfortunately this hotel has gotten out of control. We always stay here when in the area for business & to see relatives. Idk if I’d do it again.

Atrium is great-the rest of the hotel was very tired looking and there was a lot of litter and trash throughout the main areas. Booked room for 3 people and got 1 towel. Called down for more and never got. I was at reception 3 times and each time other guests were asking for towels. Seems to be a problem. Trash piled up quickly at all trash cans and common services and would remain for 24 hours plus. Breakfast was fair. Pool is really small and always filled with kids which is great but really limots space for kids. Would not recommend
