Wyndham Garden Williamsburg Busch Gardens Area

There was construction. The pool was closed, there was constitute materials in the halls. In my room, the microwave was missing the turn plate and the hair dryer didnt work. There should have been a discount as when i booked, i planned on a pool.

Here’s the things they don’t tell you when booking here. 1. It’s under construction….like a lot of construction. The whole main area is ripped apart. Drywall showing, dust everywhere, old mattresses and tv stands thrown outside on ground. It’s a literal mess 2. The pool is closed. By closed I mean greener than the grass closed. You might get some kind of fungus if you attempt to jump in. A lot of families book places for the pool and they don’t tell you it’s closed on their site which is just poor business. 3. They have breakfast if you consider rubbery tasteless eggs and rubbery, overcooked and cold sausage edible. They had cereal…one was stale the other was okay. The potato’s were mushy and frozen crap. I can understand it’s fast breakfast but at least make it where it’s not literal garbage. 4. The rooms were okay. Clean. Bed was comfortable. The shower is either freezing cold or gates of hell….it likes to go back and forth. 5. Floors are old and run down. Elevators are dingy..,hence the renovations. If you can get past all that by all means book here. It’s cheap enough.

Very impressed with this hotel. Although the carpets in the hallway could use a cleaning and a microwave would’ve been nice, everything else was great. Pool was really nice and breakfast area was good with plenty of seating.

My experience at the hotel was good. You guys were going through a remodel so you had that going on and the pool was not available because of the remodel. The hallways were very warm. There were two window units on each end of the hallway. One wasn’t working other than that was pretty good.

Property apparently under renovation, didn't strike me as Wyndham quality but maybe will be when complete.

Rooms were clean, air worked, property itself was under renovation downstairs and pool was closed.

The Wyndham Garden hotel and rooms were nice and clean. The hotel pool was good and also clean. The parking area needs to be repaved and improved with better lighting. Otherwise the hotel is very convenient to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA amusement parks.

Expedia didnt share that the property was undergoing renovations. The pool was unavailable, a elevator was down and there was alot of things taped off. When i got to my room, the trash hadnt been emptied.

I give the property 1star if I have to give a star. The pool is unsafe and dirty. Rooms are not very comfortable. Will not be staying at this franchise again.

Although when I booked the hotel, it listed a pool as an amenity. However, upon arrival the pool was closed for maintenance issues. The hotel was also undergoing renovations at the time and had an overpowering chemical smell of some sort on the first floor. The elevator to our room was also being used to transport construction materials and often had packaging material left in the elevator or right outside of it. Other than that, the free breakfast was nice and the staff was always polite.

My room had dirty towels left from the last guest and the rug was not vacuum..The beds where clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly.

Woooden floors, unswept floors, hair on floors, hair in shower, mildew in shower, cracks in the tub, bad patchwork, bad looking ceiling, elevators dirty and smell and inconvenient, stains in the bed sheets, and stains in the curtains.

They only give you new towels and sheets every 3 days. The toilet was clogged and they handed me a dirty plunger and told me to do. Their phones do not work in the room. The carpets are filthy with dog poop all over. When we walked in the room for the first time there was dog imprints on the “clean” sheets…

This place was terrible! I read all the reviews and they were right. The room was filthy, the ceiling was leaking, there was a roach in the room, the mattress had bugs underneath, the beds squeak all night with little movement and there was mold in the shower..I read one review where they said the phone was broke and it is still broke! I had to use my cell phone to make a call to the front desk. Let’s talk about The noise. People were banging on doors telling people to let them in and I did not feel safe. They don’t care about security or the cleanliness of this place. Your better off staying at a motel 6 then this place. I have photos to prove this so this. I asked the manager to call me about all this before I leave a bad review and no call. I cannot BELIEVE at his place is allowed to operate so filthy.

The whole hotel had a very strong smell of weed and musty odor. The breakfast was unedtilable. Worst tasting food, the toilets in our room and father in law’s room didn’t work and had to call management up to fix them. They still didn’t work right. Housekeeping didn’t clean the room. On day 4 we had to find a different hotel cause this one was so horrible. Management was a joke.

Breakfast was fine but the cleanliness of room was an issue. The linen had red stains on the bed covers and one of the sheets. Not sure what it was but did not sleep on that bed.

It was just for one night and it was just that . More so like the trap hotel .. needs carpet cleaning you can tell whomever bought the hotel got it how it was !! Very piss poor decor !! Room mediocre!! Plumbing problems had to plug my own toilet !!! I want my money back honestly !! Nice decor but it was very unkept !! Needs detail cleaning !! Better paint job carpet nasty in the hallways !! The tower of terror I mean elevator was a different story . I liked the staff tho

The hotel is located in an area close to many things. The cleanliness of the room was not good; one of the bed blankets had blood on it, as if it hadn't been changed. We were tired and didn’t have the energy to go to the main lobby to ask for a room change, so we opted to just request a clean sheet. There was hair in the bathtub, which makes me think it wasn’t cleaned very well. The beds were comfortable, but I don’t think they are queen size; they seem more like full size because they’re small. The air conditioning did not work well; it wasn’t hot, but it wasn’t cold either. I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone planning to stay for more than one day.

The property is a short drive from Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Despite being so close to major attractions, it was very quiet and the service was wonderful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast had many options

The room was very compact compared to other 2 queen beds stay at other hotels; the hand and face sink was in the common area and thus no privacy to take care of personal care needs. The internet was horrible which caused the TV to be disturbed all evening!

Hotel was very hot and sticky with that came the smell of mildew throughout the building. Our bedroom door wasn’t properly aligned and we could see out into the hallway when the door was shut. There was so much gum stuck to the carpet that when we took a shower the floor would be sticky and with no exhaust fan in the bathroom the whole room would become humid. There wasn’t much for breakfast mainly just cereal and bread assortments. Lastly the WiFi was horrible and the tv would freeze every two minutes. Good location if you plan on spending a lot of time at Busch Gardens but if not stay somewhere else.

There was nowhere to hang clothing. There was a metal rack in the room but no hangers. The shower ran cold after 3 minutes; the wifi was spotty; and when I reached out to the front desk around 9:30pm I didn't get an answer. The temperature on the HVAC was difficult to control to the point I just turned it off. The toilet would not flush for a while after use so when used back to back, it didn't work for the next person. I think 3 starts is generous.

Bed springs made noises when we moved around. Bathrooms need to be remodeled. Toilet would not flush completely sometimes. The a/c would not work very well at night. Room would get hot.

This hotel cannot be beat for it’s convenience to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and is the #1 reason why it was chosen for our stay. We loved the extremely comfortable beds and the incredibly soft and absorbent bath towels. That being said, the property is in need of some serious updating. Initial impression of the rooms (we had 3) were quickly squashed with the dirty vinyl floors, ‘gallons’ of caulk used around the tub edges and where it met the floor, and the year(s) of frost build-up in the room’s mini-fridge’s freezer. Breakfast buffet items were nearly bare bones. Of our 3 rooms: two were missing hair dryers, all had an ironing board but no iron, one had a rack to hang clothes – but no hangers, one had a toilet that allowed one flush, but the water tank would not re-fill. The single bar of soap offered was the size of 2 postage stamps, barely enough for one bath/shower. Chip in the tub by the train was patched – but the patch peeled off. While it was not measured, the gap below the room door and the floor was so large, we had to stuff towels in there to completely darken the room from the corridor lighting. The television in 1 room would not turn on (the ‘power’ light come on, but not the tv) and the remote for the tv was all taped up with electrical tape to keep the batteries from falling out. It was a pretty average hotel. I actually enjoyed the one further out in Williamsburg over this one. The Internet didn't work well and we couldn't get shows to come on the TV. I found the connect into the wall was basically shoved together with no good connection which probably didn't help. Breakfast was good except there weren't many places to sit when it got busy. The hallway noise was easily heard in the rooms as well as the room noises around you and even outside. There was a very nice lady working in the lobby area.

I have never been to the front desk as many times as I have during this stay. The front desk staff was courteous and responsive to our needs/issues. Rooms were neat and clean but dark. Bathroom is small. The sink is in the room instead of being in the bathroom. Housekeeping wasn’t up to par. They were supposed to make the beds and dump the trash everyday. This was hit and miss.

AC worked, but the temp range varied widely so I went from being sweaty to being too cold and needing a blanket. Also the air had a moist feel to it that I could feel in my lungs with each breath

We got there and they didn’t want to give me the room I had reserved. I got a king with a sofa bed. I had a service dog with me also. I had looked over the website about their pet policy because I don’t won’t to cause issues because of my dog. They were a dog friendly motel and that was all the information that was on it. The man that helped me was so nice and helpful then the woman working with him came over. She more or less called me a liar and wanted me to prove to her about the website. She said that people usually called and talked to them about pet policy. I said why would I call when I went through a third party. I told her everything should have been put in the website and if it wasn’t that was not my problem. I said I booked this weeks ago I have no idea what to show you. He finally got it fixed. But the room had a pull out couch but had no mattress. I called the front desk and of course she answered the phone and said king rooms only had a couch not a pull out. Even though the website showed it. I just hung the phone up because it wasn’t worth it. You could also hear everything out in the hallway as if you were standing there with them. The room was clean, beds were okay, pillows awful, and bathroom needs updating. This will be a one and never again place for us.

Checked in for a two night stay. We sadly had an emergency back at home that needed to be address immediately. We Came to the room at midnight with hopes to be able to get at least two hours of sleep before having to drive four hours home, since we had already paid for the night. Sleep never came. From midnight to 1:30am the hallways were full of loud and rowdy guests. There was no phone in the room to call down to the front desk. Tried calling the front desk from cellphone and there was no answer. Finally after realizing that there was no way for us to sleep, we gathered our belongings and heading to front desk. There was no one there, only a sign that said “stepped out to deal with guest request”. We waited 20 minutes but no one came. We just left the keys on the desk and walked out. Next day I tried to call several times to make sure that we would only be charged for that night. Called three times and had the phone just ring and ring. I work for Marriott. I understand that this hotel is not to the caliber to Marriott but it seems that guest satisfaction is not something that they don’t have any interest in.

Everybody was really nice and very helpful. They did a lot of nice things for us and made our stay great.

Yes this hotel was under renovations, but that did not make the stay bad. In fact, that was the best service that we ever had at a hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were clean. If we ever needed anything, staff got it to us very quickly. Max checked us in and helped us with checkout. Helpful isn't a strong enough word to describe his performance and i am greatful to him and the rest of the wonderful staff that went above and beyond and worked around the renovations. I'm excited to see what the end results look like when we come back and visit again.

Very professional and accommodating staff.

After arguing with the Indian lady in the front about getting an extra towel during my stay, I have to admit this property sucks. She apologized and I felt bad for pushing her to get me towels. But at the same time what else was I supposed to do this is a hotel and I need a towel, you just provided me one for me and one for my spouse, I shower in the mornings, what did they expect? Overall, the hotel was ok, tv didn’t turn on, no towels if you ask, very cheap breakfast but was ok to say the least. Other people there were great and easy going like the one I talked to when I checked in. I forgot his or her name but he was great. Just stayed here for bussy gardens so families, bring all your stuff and book in advance so you don’t have to deal with anything this hotel has to offer or doesn’t offer.

Hotel was nice but seemed to be an older property. Pool was empty so disappointed about that. No notice found on site about pool.

Nice hotel that is near the parks. Rooms are nice, pool is nice. Breakfast and parking are free… BIG bonus. It’s not a Hilton, but it’s very user friendly, clean and easy!

Great hotel option if going to Busch Gardens & Water Country! I would not suggest walking yo water country from the hotel.

This hotel is in perfect location if you are looking to visit Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Just 5 minute drive between them both, and is perfect for when you’re exhausted from having all day fun! Definitely recommend and will come back to stay again!

Great location from the theme park

Very nice place. Good beds and bedding. Nice breakfast in the morning. But be warned, the walls are very thin and you here noise through them quite easily. Super close to BGW though.

We stayed Memorial Day Weekend. The staff at the front desk was EXCELLENT! I wish I would've gotten the one gentleman's name. Check in was super fast and easy and her personally delivered things to our room for our bedding. Breakfast had a good variety of eggs, sausage, pancakes, potatoes, fruit, and cereals. If staying on a busy weekend, I do recommend getting there early as the line became long and sometimes you had to wait for food to be replenished. Beds are as expected when going to a hotel, We slept fine but clearly not like we do at home in our comfortable beds but, again to be expected. My husband is in the pest control business so we check our hotel rooms fully before bringing any of our belongings in. Our room was free and clear! Hotel location: We were heading to Busch Gardens, we go multiple times a year. This has been the best location we've stayed at. 7 min easy drive to BG and about 3 min drive to Water Country. It is secluded so there isn't road noise either. Pool: It was open; however, the weather was not appropriate for the pool this weekend. My son, did try to get in and got to his knees. Would and will most definitely stay here again this summer!

Clean. Friendly staff. Great breakfast

The room itself was very nice and clean. The elevators were a little sketchy and one shook for a bit when it reached the 8th floor. If the Continental breakfast is an important factor for you, then you should book another hotel. The breakfast was a little pitiful and there was not much of a selection. Pancakes, sausage, egg whites, hash browns and sliced bread. That was it.

Breakfast options were not very good. Same entrees all week(powdered eggs, yucky sausage and pancakes). The syrup containers were so sticky that it was difficult to lift them out of the tray to use them. Milk had to be shared among clients same gal. Instead of individual boxes.

Convenient enough and clean. But the breakfast provided was limited.

The common areas were filthy — trash cans overflowing, toilets broken, no hand towels or tp. Shower ran out of hot water. A/C did not work and fan clicked on and off endlessly. Pillows were like concrete. Eggs were the worst I have ever had. Juice machine broken. On the plus side, the pancakes were delicious. As I stared at them on my plate, I thought “you’re too good for this place — get out of here as soon as possible.” Shortly thereafter, I followed my own advice.

This is my second time staying here. The first time was better than the second time around. They advertised that they had offered a full breakfast buffet, which was a lie this time. We didn’t see any hot breakfast. They had stale bagels and bread and cereals. When we asked the front desk. We were told that since there wasn’t a lot of people that stayed that day or the night before, they refused to cook breakfast. So disappointing.

We stayed here for 2 nights whikebgoing to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The orooerty overall was good. The staff were nice and friendly and the pool was nice. The beds were comfortable. Only thing I would say is the room could use a fresh coat of paint and a little updating. TV was old and remote didn't work well and the alarm clock didnt work as well. Overall, absolutely fine for a few nights and breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, pajcajes, cereal, and some bread selections.
