Everything was mediocre at best. The location was the best part as a lot of things were nearby. Our AC went out in one rooms we booked. The second room booked in the reservation smelled of cat pee and they wouldn't accommodate a room change. The pool was mildewy and the ADA compliant chair lift was about rusted all the way through. Wouldn't trust it with my pinky toe. Breakfast was okay but not the greatest, y'all really need at least two people to assist with breakfast, not just one attendant.

Great location. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of options and continually refilled- we have stayed at other places with free breakfast and had to get there super early or risk no food left and that was not the case here. Eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, English muffins and plenty of everything. Staff continually filled and cleaned throughout the morning. They also had grab and go bags if you are in a rush. Pool was clean and good size to splash around with a family. Hotel was a little outdated but the breakfast, pool, friendly staff, cleanliness and location completely win over a little outdated decor. Great stay and we will def be back!

We stayed for two nights to do Busch Gardens. This hotel is about a 15min drive to the park, tons of restaurants right near by. It was a bit worn down in general, but very clean. The employees were super friendly and prompt with service. Every time we left our room, someone asked us how we were and if they could get us anything. Breakfast was fine, no complaints! Pool is small and dated but clean. The whole place was super quiet, couldn’t hear much in the other rooms expect for people opening and closing their doors. In short: this hotel provides a clean and quiet place to sleep with a decent breakfast and a pool. It’s a bare-bones place, nothing fancy, but it is good where it really counts.

Checkin was great. Pool heater out and were not told when asking questions about the pool. Someone’s Starbucks was still in the room fridge from the day before. Not enough outlets in the room. Staff though was friendly and welcoming.

I haven’t stayed in a Holiday Inn Express for several years, and either the quality has gone downhill…or we ended up with a poorly run hotel. First it is listed as a nonsmoking hotel, but the elevator and hallways have strong marijuana odors. Our room was fair, and the bead were comfortable, but the refillable soap dispenser was broken and we only had 3 towels for 4 people. The breakfast buffet was very limited. We went during the middle of the breakfast time range and the eggs were empty, they had 4 cold sausages, and a long line to make 2 pancakes. There were no cinnamon buns, no yogurts or fruits, and the milk pitcher was empty. It was crowded, unappealing, and the workers were in no hurry to refill anything. We also wanted to let the kids swim for an hour before leaving to try to gain some kind of value from the stay, but the doors to the pool were broken and the staff couldn’t figure out how get them open. We decided to go ahead and check out and find some decent food. As we left the hotel, we discovered that multiple vehicles in the side parking lot closest to the tree line had been broken into overnight. Police were there and multiple people were cleaning up glass. I would never choose or recommend this hotel.

We are very disappointed in our recent stay. It took 1.5 hours to check in Friday early evening. They were fully booked because of a tournament. They had one young lady at the front desk, who was still in training and no one else. They had to call the manager in. There were over 20 people in line. The young lady said rooms weren't clean yet and she to manually put everything into the system. I felt bad for her. We had no hot water for showers all 3 days, all the ice machines were out of ice and signs on them, as well as the dryers being broke. Saturday it poured all day and we needed to wash and dry out clothes. Both dryers had signs on it as well. This is unacceptable for the money we paid.

1. There was no vending machine even though there was a sign pointing toward vending machines. 2. The instructions in the room stated the room would be refreshed daily unless requested not to do so, but we didn't receive a refresh on the first day and needed towels. When I addressed this with the front desk, the gentleman was very nice and got us towels but stated in order to get a daily refresh, it had to be requested. That is not what the information in the room stated. 3. The exercise facilities did not have working equipment (1 treadmill and 1 bicycle were not working correctly). They did fix them and get them functioning when requested. 4. There were no sanitizing wipes available in the gym; the dispenser was empty. I used my own I brought with me from home.

It was not fancy but it wasn't a hole in the wall either. It needs some upgrades with furnishings and decor. Kinda dark drab colors and only one elevator working. Breakfast bar was almost empty at 9am , even though breakfast was supposed to end at 9:30am. It was just okay.

The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, but it was humid. The bath tub was peeling and the bbathroom mirror had what looked like a gun shot mark. Overall we were satisfied. The humidity was the only uncomfortable feature.

We checked in Sunday around3:30 no towels in the room finally got towels around6:30. No housekeeping not even to dump the trash. I went & ask for trash bags to empty the trash.Tuesday NO COFFEE, no plates, no fruit loops no fruit. Mattress was stained with juice? Blood on pillowcase. Led lights in the pool well 1 blue light.Staff very friendly. Hats off to desk worker BRY over & above to help!! The DM assured me she didn’t allow a voucher to be given when I ask how I could be compensated that was after the manager offered a one night stay free of charge. Wednesday 2 brand new mattresses were brought to our room & the DM did a one night comp and the room was cleaned!! So it all worked out on our last night.

We had a great time in Williamsburg, the hotel was nice, comfortable beds. Our issue was the terrible mold that was growing in the shower. As the grout was dark it wasn’t noticeable until you looked closely. At first I thought it was a lousy tile job. Nope, dark mold along all the tiles.

We left to find another hotel shortly after check in. The room did not have a clean appearance or smell; the room had a stale odor, the walls were dirty, the TUB WAS DISGUSTING and had obvious wear and tear and lack of attentiveness to cleanliness and up keep over time. Just not the standard of Holiday Inn Express we experienced in the past, so we were shocked. Even the lobby area was the first red flag that management hasn’t put in effort in the cleanliness and upkeep of the building. The front desk ladies (supervisor and the assistant general manager) were kind and professional. They were not only warm and welcoming to my children and gave the birthday boy a snack bag, but they were professional and understanding when we needed an early check out.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room had brown spots on the mirror that was inside the mirror so it couldn’t be wiped off. Walking down the hall I noticed discoloration on the entry’s of other rooms.

I travel pretty frequently and was surprised with how uninviting the room felt. This hotel had a lot of great reviews but I’m not really sure why. Our room was barely clean. There were still wrappers and an empty bottle on the floor. The bed is very hard and not comfortable at all. The lobby was alright, the elevators were extremely slow, and the sound travels. You can hear everything in the hallways. It says online they accept service dogs but we were grilled every time we had to take her through the lobby. We did not enjoy our stay and we left a day early. I will not be staying at another holiday inn express.

Location of hotel was good, but the bathroom of room 302 smelled like sewage. There was no bathroom fan, as well. One of the queen beds was creaky and not supported on one side of the bed (i.e., springs worn out). We did enjoy the breakfast service and food.

The hotel was nice but the bed was very uncomfortable. The receptionist greeted me at the door and was very poliet. The room was just like i expected except for the bed. I had 2 queen size beds but they look full. The mattresses was very uncomfortable. The pool was nice.

Went for a 2 day trip with my wife. Had to wait 15 minutes to check in. There was no one at the desk. My room was downgraded and no one mentioned that. We entered our room and realized immediately that it was not a King bed. We went back to the desk and they said they had no king rooms available and I would have to contact Hotels.com to get a partial refund. The hotel was very understaffed. The same person that worked the desk had to help with breakfast each day. She admitted how tired she was due to being overworked. We are used to a relaxing experience when we travel. This was not relaxing.

Booked thru Hotels.com nice and easy. Check in couldn’t provide room I reserved, 2 days later was charged again from the hotel, not hotels.com so I’ve paid twice for a room that I didn’t choose to begin with. The checkin guy was rude and unhelpful. Barely said 2 words to us at checkin. Our room keys didnt work the first time and we had to go all the way back downstairs, no apologies. The only ice machine in the place was out of order. The bathrooms were outdated and our bath tub looked like it needed refinishing. Wont be staying at this hotel again, very disappointing

Great location. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of options and continually refilled- we have stayed at other places with free breakfast and had to get there super early or risk no food left and that was not the case here. Eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, English muffins and plenty of everything. Staff continually filled and cleaned throughout the morning. They also had grab and go bags if you are in a rush. Pool was clean and good size to splash around with a family. Hotel was a little outdated but the breakfast, pool, friendly staff, cleanliness and location completely win over a little outdated decor. Great stay and we will def be back!

Parking was secure. Room was clean and I enjoyed the new standard of Dove soap. Beds were comfortable and the HVAC unit worked perfectly. Staff were very friendly and professional. I can't wait to come back next year when we visit Water Country USA.

We reserved a room with 2 queens online around 6 pm for us and our two adult children. We arrived at the hotel around 9 pm and were advised that they had no two queen rooms available. They unapologetically stated that this happens because it shows rooms online even when they don’t have them. We explained that there were 4 adults & has driven an extra hour to have space for everyone. They offered a king room or two king rooms (we would have to pay for both rooms). After about 35 minutes of back and forth and the front desk person calling their manager, they did finally find us a room with two queen beds. The hotel was clean. There were a lot of people at the pool, but we did not use it. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, pastries, fruit, etc - better than expected. The hotel itself was decent. We did hear someone complain that their tv and phone were damaged (and they were unable to get any accommodations/resolution) and the heater/AC in the room we ended up in was clearly very broken. When we turned it on it smelled like it was on fire (not just heat smell, much stronger!). We decided to just let it be and be thankful that we had sleeping space. E suspect the room may have not been bookable because of this and maybe they allowed it to be booked to accommodate us.

The staff at the front desk is phenomenal. However, housekeeping left our door unlocked after putting towels in the room. We were at Busch Gardens all day and came back to an unlocked door propped open with the latch. This is unacceptable. Fortunately, nothing was stolen.

The hotel it self is a good hotel but the location is bad it’s in a really dark back room. When I checked in the clerk asked my for my tag number and telephone and she said she needed it just in case something happened. Which was odd to me. But I later found out why some one broke in to my van. The police it had been happening a lot at that location and the clerk could have told us we probably would not have stayed there if you can avoid this location please do

Everything was mediocre at best. The location was the best part as a lot of things were nearby. Our AC went out in one rooms we booked. The second room booked in the reservation smelled of cat pee and they wouldn't accommodate a room change. The pool was mildewy and the ADA compliant chair lift was about rusted all the way through. Wouldn't trust it with my pinky toe. Breakfast was okay but not the greatest, y'all really need at least two people to assist with breakfast, not just one attendant.

We stayed for two nights to do Busch Gardens. This hotel is about a 15min drive to the park, tons of restaurants right near by. It was a bit worn down in general, but very clean. I haven’t stayed in a Holiday Inn Express for several years, and either the quality has gone downhill…or we ended up with a poorly run hotel. First it is listed as a nonsmoking hotel, but the elevator and hallways have strong marijuana odors. Our room was fair, and the bead were comfortable, but the refillable soap dispenser was broken and we only had 3 towels for 4 people. The breakfast buffet was very limited. We went during the middle of the breakfast time range and the eggs were empty, they had 4 cold sausages, and a long line to make 2 pancakes. There were no cinnamon buns, no yogurts or fruits, and the milk pitcher was empty. It was crowded, unappealing, and the workers were in no hurry to refill anything. We also wanted to let the kids swim for an hour before leaving to try to gain some kind of value from the stay, but the doors to the pool were broken and the staff couldn’t figure out how get them open. We decided to go ahead and check out and find some decent food. As we left the hotel, we discovered that multiple vehicles in the side parking lot closest to the tree line had been broken into overnight. Police were there and multiple people were cleaning up glass. I would never choose or recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience. Pool could have used a cleaning. My son found a band aid in the pool but the pool stayed open late and my kids were thrilled. Offered hot chocolate when we checked in and my kids loved that! Breakfast had a good selection but the person in charge of breakfast was having a hard time keeping up with the crowd. She did the best she could for being one person. Soap dispensers in our bathroom needed refilled. Overall the hotel was exactly what we expected. About 10 minutes from everything ( colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens) and in a nice area.

We had a handicap-access room located directly above the lobby desk. Our window pointed out to the lobby-drive. The hotel played music outside in the drive-up circle 24 Hours a day. Why play music 24-HOURS A DAY?? The music kept me awake. I attempted to call the lobby and the in-room phone did not work. I checked the location of the music in the morning, and the speaker, although not very loud, was mounted 2 feet below our window and it was clearly heard in our room. I told the staff and they said they would turn it down. Also, breakfast was OK but they kept running out of items and the replacement was terribly slowwww.

I decent stay, nothing exceptional for the price paid. The room, while very clean and neat had an odd odor- assumebit's the carpeting/cleaning. Otherwise, this is an ok stay
