This property has the potential to be a great property. But. It's missing the mark. Had to ask to have 4 light bulbs replaced (which they did) Bathroom setup in our room was very bad. Bathroom mirror was in the corner, made it very hard to see anything. They had a magnifying mirror, but it couldn't adjust down for shorter people and the light didn't work. No luggage racks in room? had to use a chair and a bench. Shower nozzle was not good. They did replace it. Mattress needed to be replaced. No refrigerator. No ice machine, the front desk person had to get the ice. Breakfast offered at the property you need to get there early, or they run out of eggs. Roads around property need repair a lot of potholes. Restaurant at the winery was mediocre at best. Better places in town. We were in room 2. This place could be great but lacking the attention to detail it needs.

The grounds are beautiful, the pool is awesome, salt water rather than chlorine and the rooms are each unique. The Champagne room is large large and bright. The library is well stocked with amazing books. The staff is great and the winery is well manicured. Very special experience

The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable and it had a very nice shower. The pool areas really nice, and the complimentary breakfast was good. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator or an ice dispenser in hotel. There is no real option to store leftover food or cold drinks.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is on a vineyard. It’s quiet, beautiful and so close to Colonial Williamsburg. Every room is unique and decorated with antiques. Nice breakfast and a complimentary wine tasting too. Everyone was kind and helpful. We look forward to coming back!

This place is so wonderfully unique with all of the antique furniture and layout of the building! Although unused due to the season, there was a fireplace in the bedroom. We enjoyed our lunch in the courtyard beside the fountain. We had a wine tasting experience, and an evening swim in the beautiful outdoor pool. I would definitely come back here again!

Always a 10/10! Beautiful property! The hotel is gorgeous, the pool is lovely, and staff are friendly and helpful! So many places to sit quietly and relax! Also, the wine and restaurant are next door!

The room was not clean. We explained and asked after night one, and it was marginally better but there was still a half inch of dust on the air return vent. Additionally, the rooms are very loud and you hear every sound from the room above you.

Overall, our stay was pleasant. The staff were extremely hospitable and warm. The hotel lobby looked tired and there were cobwebs in every corner. I would suggest brightening it up and making it look more refined and welcoming. We stayed in the large suite which was beautiful but lacking in many areas. This room could really be special if it was maintained. The walls were flaking and the air conditioning units in the ceiling were full of black mold. Paint carpets and sofas had crumbs and did not seemed to be cleaned properly. I understand the hotel is historically themed which is part of its charm, but maintaining it with repairs to the flaking paint and cleanliness of overall space would make it truly special.

The property has character. However, the rooms are in need of deep cleaning. The dust was horrible, hanging from the walls. The bathroom had mold. The floors were dirty enough to make my socks black. The bed itself was so uncomfortable that my husband and I left a night early just to go home. The rooms are in need of paint and upgraded bathroom fixtures that are not broken. I would not stay again. The receptionist at the desk was extremely nice and helpful.

On the plus side, the staff at the hotel's front desk and in the breakfast room were all very welcoming and helpful. The same can be said of the winery which provided a courtesy bottle of Cabernet in our hotel room along with coupons for use in their tasting room which has an interesting variety of cultivars from which to choose. However, on the minus side there were a number of issues. One of the two tub/shower doors was not operable, making entry & exit more difficult, and the shower gel bottle that was supposed to be attached to the tile had broken off prior to our arrival and was sitting in the tub in its broken bracket. The bathroom sink leaked around the cold water faucet whenever it was used, requiring a towel to be wedged around it to prevent soaking anything on the counter and running onto the floor. The bathroom exhaust fan and the light by the toilet did not work. The area rugs which are there to complement the historical charm of the property were worn and, along with the wood floors, felt unclean to bare feet. They also had nothing to prevent them from sliding underfoot and could easily pose a tripping hazard. During our 3-night stay, we killed more than a dozen flies that pestered us and seemingly continued to enter our room in spite of there being no open windows, doors or vents for them to gain entry.

Beautiful location outside of town. Lovely to walk around. Room decor was charming and staff very helpful. Good breakfast. Good experience for the price -- off season, mid-week. Place is nice but a bit run down around the edges -- mold and broken handle in shower, steps/hallway hadn't been cleaned, courtyard a bit dirty. In a room on first floor, you can hear every movement in the room above.

The bed sheets and the bathrobes were stained. Fly in the room. Hair in bedding. Nothing offered for kids. No swings or mazes for kids. this premises is not a 4 star stay. Very expensive and very few amenities.

The inn was well decorated & set the tone of a small English inn. The room, especially the bathroom, wasn’t very clean with some mildew stains. The bed was fairly comfortable. The pool was nice but needs some patio maintenance. Breakfast was light with restrictive coffee service. The property was fine. I would probably not stay there again.

The room itself was fine. Bed was fine, furniture was fine(although more tables/ surfaces would've been nice - no place to put things) TV is little too small, esp way up on top of the closet in the corner. But i wish the room had more sound absorption/isolation in the ceiling / floor above. we could hear everything that was going on in the room above us, rolling suitcases, sneezing, talking, walking.. it was too much... And also hall outside our room, we could hear people talking, rolling suitcases. I'm reasonable but the sound that traveled between rooms was little much. I expected more 'comfort' more relaxing /luxurious atmosphere at Wedmore. i expected little more privacy in our room.

My fiancé and I loved this hotel! It has a cool European medieval castle vibe and it’s very peaceful and clean. We loved staying in the Andalucía room and we were given that room as a free upgrade. Just keep in mind that not all of the rooms have refrigerators and the showers are also different in every room, so I would recommend looking at the pictures before you decide on a room. I would recommend staying on the second floor too if you’re a light sleeper, since I could hear the wooden floors creak when we walked around the room. The daily breakfast was also delicious and the staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. You really can’t go wrong staying here and it’s close to major attractions like Busch Gardens and Water Country USA!

Overall, it was a good experience. We would stay at Wedmore Place again. The room was spacious and clean. One downside was that we found only one accessible outlet in the room to charge our devices, and the wifi didn't work consistently. However, we appreciated that we could purchase a bottle of wine from the front desk, and the included breakfast was a nice way to start the day. It's definitely not a generic hotel, so if you want to avoid the chain hotels, it's a good pick!

Good rooms, nice decorations, great staff and the breakfast is nice. Really love hanging out in the library. Being on the first floor, however, was NOT relaxing. On all 3 nights, we had people above us who were walking around until midnight etc. The wood floors rattled and the chandelier would flicker off and on in response. We will be back but only if we are able to get a second floor room.

Great location adjacent to the winery and restaurant. The room was much smaller than I anticipated, based on the photos. The bathroom was more dated than I was expecting, too. There was a LavAzza espresso machine in the room, however no directions. I found a video online and made a cup. It was yummy, but the machine was LOUD. I'm sure I woke guests in adjacent rooms. The winery and restaurant next door were wonderful!

Small shower with a weird shower head in the Champagne room. The tv was also tiny and old. BUT, I’d stay there again. It had a relaxing, at-home feeling without all of the hustle and bustle of a traditional hotel.

This was a relaxing place to stay. Bed very comfortable. Lovely, quiet location. I would like to acknowledge three staff in particular for their friendly, kind and stellar service—Meemee and Norissa in food service, who made breakfast each day a delight, and Jo at the front desk who was so attentive with helping with anything I requested. Although all staff were friendly and respectful, these three gave this solo traveler a sense of being at home among friends. Loved my stay there. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for a great stay. Every single person on staff was friendly and accommodating. We love to sit in the courtyard for quiet time. The pool was very nice. A little chilly, but it is September. Breakfast is the sweetest experience. Very attentive servers. The coffee makers have been removed from the rooms and the coffee doesn’t seem to be the same brand as advertised. Please let that be the only change made!! Everything else is so awesome. The creaky floor and doors make for a very unique experience. It feels like we’re just staying with a friend on their beautiful property. We can’t wait to try a new room next time.

The property was similar to an English Country Inn. It was very understated. Not anything like the normal accommodations of the general Williamsburg area. My wife loves the room, furnishings and the 4 poster bed. I liked the locations as it was a little remote and was very relaxing.

The property was nice and very quiet. We did not know the 2 restaurants were closed on the night we chose to stay and we had to get Olli brand packaged charcuterie (from the tasting room) as we wanted to stay on the property for the night. The wine tasting was very nice with a large selection. The property is aging but the room was nice with a huge, soft, comfortable king bed. Next time I think we will stay closer to Williamsburg for the variety of choices of entertainment.

Beautifully antique furnished rooms. Very serene & relaxing environment . Breakfast was delicious & a nice touch. All the staff were helpful & kind. Enjoyed our wine tasting but disappointed the on-site restaurant was closed during our stay. We were looking forward to trying it. One note the bathroom was wonky & not very functional. Doesn’t match the level of the other spaces.

Cute place with friendly staff and cozy feel. Some amenities such as shower needs updating. It would have been nice to have more variety with breakfast, fresher and some different items some mornings. We also experienced the fire alarm sounding several times over the 3 nights we stayed.

While there were may things I found charming, the cell service was non-existent (wi-fi great)and although breakfast was included in my rate, they didn't have it available until 8am and I had to be at my conference at 8. Also it would have been helpful (from Hotels.com) to know that the restaurant was closed by 4pm on Sundays. The food at their restaurant was Excellent with great service on the night I could indulge there.

We had been to the winery many times for Iunch and wine but decided to stay at Wedmore Place for our fiftieth anniversary. The weather was beautiful, the hotel staff and winery personnel were excellent. Our room was perfect - the bed was so comfy. The included breakfast was fantastic both days and we both also received a free wine flight!

We have stayed here many times but the last couple of times it’s not been what it used to be. The breakfast used to be DELICIOUS but now it’s not good and very disappointing. There are quite a few “little things” that maybe others would not notice but I felt used to set it apart that they no longer do. The staff there is wonderful and i can’t say enough about how wonderful they are. Hopefully things will get better…
