Too many stairs to climb and hard to get to room. Too much room noise from other rooms. Location is poor. Too much traffic. It took 40 minutes for cabs to go just 3-4 km. Making a cab ride expensive. But that was cabs. Uber rides were much quicker. Stay away from cab rides. Way too many people in Paris.

The staff was very helpful and reception was open 24/7, the room was clean, air conditioning worked properly, and the hotel is very well located. As a female travelling alone I felt safe. The only downside for me (but also not a big deal) were the areas where you have to walk up the stairs. Some parts are accesible through the elevator, but not all of them.

Although there are stairs before and after the front desk, the room is clean and well organized. There are refrigerator, dryer, iron and desk. The staff are all kind. I'll stay it when I'll be back to Paris.

Simply a wonderful throwback hotel! The staff were absolutely fantastic - I mean just wonderful. The room we had was excellent, great size for an older style European hotel (it was actually larger than expected), it had a great view of the city AND a balcony (so needless to say my wife was ecstatic). It also had A/C and a 1/3 size fridge to store leftovers and cold drinks. That being said, there are a number of steps from the main floor hall (street access) to the hotel's main desk ...... not a deal breaker but something you be aware of if you require a lift or have trouble with stairs. Second thing, this is managed like a old time hotel - so they still use ACTUAL room keys, that you must turn into the front desk every time you leave the hotel (not a big deal but something to be aware of). To sum it up - we stayed for 13 days and loved every minute of it. I would stay here again in heartbeat (and very likely will next summer).

O hotel tem muitas escadas, super desconfortável, pois o elevador nao chegava no meu quarto. O café da manhã tem pouca variedade, mais tudo tem otima qualidade e é gostoso. O recepcionista Francoise é fantastico, muito simpático, educado e colaborador. O hotel fica numa localizacao excelente, perto de mercado e restaurantes, além de ser ao lado do ponto de metrô. O apartamento é pequeninho, mais super limpo! Voltaria a me hospedar nele, mais solicitaria um apartamento com acessibilidade!

I'm a youthful 58 year old with the body of a 25 year old so the sporadic stair situation was easily incorporated into my daily workout. However, those with bad knees should avoid this hotel. This is not my first rodeo in Paris so I understand the sacrifice of convenience for charm. But even my most able bodied, fit visitor complained about the hike to my room, even with the tiny elevator that only reached the 4th fl, and only broke down once, requiring a trek to the 6th floor. Other than that, and the archaic, inconvenient key situation, the staff was attentive, and the room was comfortable. Proximity to the Marais and Strasbourg St Denis Metro station was a plus.

From the moment I arrived, I was so welcomed by the staff! There are a lot of stairs and the elevator only goes to some of ithe floors because the hotel is actually two old buildings joined together. But the front desk helped me, arthritic knees and all, to get my bags up to my room on the fifth floor. I was late to breakfast on the second day, but they let me eat and drink, anyway! It's a good thing, too, because I never got lunch. My wallet was stolen so I spent all day making police reports, shutting off my credit cards, and going to the embassy for an emergency passport. When I got back to the hotel, where I'd left my bags, the guys at the front desk listened to my story and insisted on getting me tea and encouraging me to take some food from the fridge in the breakfast dining room. So kind, and above and beyond!

Very friendly and much serviceminded staff. We got relly good help how to find the nice spots in Paris. The hotel has a central location, easy to get everywere from here. Clean hotel.

I enjoyed staying here. The staff were friendly and helpful, my room was always clean, and my room was very nice, comfortable, and quiet. It was easy to get anywhere by walking or by metro, and there are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby.

Super hotel in centrum Parijs. We zouden dit zeker aanbevelen. Met raam dicht, nauwelijks lawaai van buiten. Donkere gordijnen. Gastheer en gastvrouw doen dit echt met plezier. Heel veel uitleg gekregen bij aankomst waar de niet zo bekende plekjes zich bevinden. Propere kamer. Ontbijt zeker voldoende variatie-9 euro, dus zeker prijs/kwaliteit top.

J'ai été pleinement satisfait de mon séjour au Cosmotel. J'ai passé une nuit seul, dans une chambre pour 3 personnes. Je pense qu'on y est un peu serré à trois. La literie était très confortable, l'hôtel silencieux, le personnel chaleureux. Rien à redire sur la propreté.

Buon hotel, pulito, personale e servizio eccellenti, buona la colazione a buffet anche se a pagamento. Accesso non proprio comodo per via del piano di scale necessario per raggiungere la reception e l'ascensore interno. Posizione ottima per trasporti e ristoranti.

Hôtel très convenable, en revanche très mauvaise isolation. On entend les portes qui claquent, les discussions dans le couloir et les chambres alentours. Un peu dérangeant à 1h du matin ou 6h du matin :)

The hotel was excellent. It was conveniently located from the Strasbourg St Denis Station which is an interchange for line 4, 8 and 9, giving you direct access to Les Halles, Opera and Champs Elysee and Trocadero without having to change trains. The station and area were lively even at midnight so you wouldn’t have to worry about walking late in the night from the station to the hotel. It is definitely worth it for time is money when you travel. In terms of the rooms and amenities, the triple room we stayed in is spacious by Paris standard with two beds and is located on an annexed building facing the quieter inner court, although at the price of some walking up the stairs. Equipped with a TV, a closet with coat hangers, a desk, a safe and refrigerator, you wouldn’t have to worry about storing the food you buy during your trip, which is great as not all hotels in Paris come with a refrigerator. The bathroom was pristine and adequately-sized with a large mirror, heating, hairdryer and good lighting. As for the service, we were always supplied with clean towels and sufficient toilet papers, and it always feels refreshing to come back to a well-polished room after a tiresome day of sightseeing. What most impressed us, however, was the personnel there, all of them was exceptionally helpful, assisting us with carrying the luggage up the stairs and calling a taxi to airport. We are so tempted to book this place again if we ever return!

Never met so friendly and helpful staff before. Room bit small and old, but clean. Convenient location.

The hotel is very close to the centre of Paris both on foot and by metro. the personnel is always present 24 by 7 and always very kind. The entrance of the hotel is always guarded. the room was silent and comfortable. The breakfast is good and abundant. Should I go back to Paris I would certainly choose the same hotel.

The hotel was excellent. It was conveniently located from the Strasbourg St Denis Station which is an interchange for line 4, 8 and 9, giving you direct access to Les Halles, Opera and Champs Elysee and Trocadero without having to change trains. The station and area were lively even at midnight so you wouldn’t have to worry about walking late in the night from the station to the hotel. It is definitely worth it for time is money when you travel. In terms of the rooms and amenities, the triple room we stayed in is spacious by Paris standard with two beds and is located on an annexed building facing the quieter inner court, although at the price of some walking up the stairs. Equipped with a TV, a closet with coat hangers, a desk, a safe and refrigerator, you wouldn’t have to worry about storing the food you buy during your trip, which is great as not all hotels in Paris come with a refrigerator. The bathroom was pristine and adequately-sized with a large mirror, heating, hairdryer and good lighting. As for the service, we were always supplied with clean towels and sufficient toilet papers, and it always feels refreshing to come back to a well-polished room after a tiresome day of sightseeing. What most impressed us, however, was the personnel there, all of them was exceptionally helpful, assisting us with carrying the luggage up the stairs and calling a taxi to airport. We are so tempted to book this place again if we ever return!

Super hotel in centrum Parijs. We zouden dit zeker aanbevelen. Met raam dicht, nauwelijks lawaai van buiten. Donkere gordijnen. Gastheer en gastvrouw doen dit echt met plezier. Heel veel uitleg gekregen bij aankomst waar de niet zo bekende plekjes zich bevinden. Propere kamer. Ontbijt zeker voldoende variatie-9 euro, dus zeker prijs/kwaliteit top.

J'ai été pleinement satisfait de mon séjour au Cosmotel. J'ai passé une nuit seul, dans une chambre pour 3 personnes. Je pense qu'on y est un peu serré à trois. La literie était très confortable, l'hôtel silencieux, le personnel chaleureux. Rien à redire sur la propreté.

my worst stay in the whole 3 years trip in.Europe. and wasted me a long time on their own mistake. The owner argued with me about the payment of the city tax. they insisted I didn't pay for the city tax, and started to abuse me and threatened me to call the policeman. even though i showed my payment record, the boss just said, i don't care, you didn't pay. and forced me to pay again. I tried to prove it by different ways, they all ignore, and shouted at me. finally, it was proved that it was their mistake. which took me 1 hours, and made me unhappy for the whole say. the owner said he will send me an apology email but nothing i received.

I'm a youthful 58 year old with the body of a 25 year old so the sporadic stair situation was easily incorporated into my daily workout. However, those with bad knees should avoid this hotel. This is not my first rodeo in Paris so I understand the sacrifice of convenience for charm. But even my most able bodied, fit visitor complained about the hike to my room, even with the tiny elevator that only reached the 4th fl, and only broke down once, requiring a trek to the 6th floor. Other than that, and the archaic, inconvenient key situation, the staff was attentive, and the room was comfortable. Proximity to the Marais and Strasbourg St Denis Metro station was a plus.

From the moment I arrived, I was so welcomed by the staff! There are a lot of stairs and the elevator only goes to some of ithe floors because the hotel is actually two old buildings joined together. But the front desk helped me, arthritic knees and all, to get my bags up to my room on the fifth floor. I was late to breakfast on the second day, but they let me eat and drink, anyway! It's a good thing, too, because I never got lunch. My wallet was stolen so I spent all day making police reports, shutting off my credit cards, and going to the embassy for an emergency passport. When I got back to the hotel, where I'd left my bags, the guys at the front desk listened to my story and insisted on getting me tea and encouraging me to take some food from the fridge in the breakfast dining room. So kind, and above and beyond!

The staff was very helpful and reception was open 24/7, the room was clean, air conditioning worked properly, and the hotel is very well located. As a female travelling alone I felt safe. The only downside for me (but also not a big deal) were the areas where you have to walk up the stairs. Some parts are accesible through the elevator, but not all of them.

Clean room with a great view, very friendly and informative staff, good coffee. About a 20 minute walk from the Seine/Notre Dame and 20 minutes from the Opera House. There are tons of shops and restaurants nearby.

My wife, two children and I just got back to the U.S. from a trip to Paris for 6 days and stayed at the Hotel Cosmotel. The rooms are small as you would expect in Paris, but extremely clean and comfortable. We had a room with two queen beds and they were just the right level of softness. You can open the window to let in a cool night breeze. There is good maid service each day, although she kept forgetting the toilet paper for some reason. When you walk out the door of the hotel, turn right. The area to the left is not so good and there isn\'t really much in that direction anyway. There is a Lidl supermarket and numerous pharmacies right across the street so we could fill our small fridge with water bottles and fruit. There is a great place to grab a gyro or kabob platter 1/2 block away called "Chou Chou" and the food is good. McDonalds and KFC a block away but come on, you are in Paris! Great bakeries within two blocks of course. 25 minute walk to Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. just like it says, but we took metro everywhere, which is only a block away. But the best part of the hotel, by far, is the owner and his assistant. One of them is always at the front desk every morning all day long, and if you let them know what you plan on doing, they will pull out a map and highlighter and tell you how to get there, what not to miss, and other valuable tips to make each day\'s exploring that much more pleasurable. These two men are fantastic! I\'d say more but out of room*****

Tiny room which is very typical Paris, but clean and very well maintained. The breakfast had a good selection and even catered to my wife’s need for Gluten free options. Also, credit to the owner and wife. They were exceptional. Gave us help on everything from local dining options to how to use the Metro, and which tourist spots to prioritize.

A 10 min à pied de la gare de l'Est, tout proche d'une station de métro. Excellent accueil, hôtel très propre, chambre confortable et calme, petit déjeuner buffet très varié et copieux. Service conciergerie. A refaire sans hésiter lors d'un prochain séjour.

O hotel tem muitas escadas, super desconfortável, pois o elevador nao chegava no meu quarto. O café da manhã tem pouca variedade, mais tudo tem otima qualidade e é gostoso. O recepcionista Francoise é fantastico, muito simpático, educado e colaborador. O hotel fica numa localizacao excelente, perto de mercado e restaurantes, além de ser ao lado do ponto de metrô. O apartamento é pequeninho, mais super limpo! Voltaria a me hospedar nele, mais solicitaria um apartamento com acessibilidade!

An excellent inexpensive hotel for a family holiday in Paris. Clean, quiet, 50 meters to the metro. There are many supermarkets nearby. Refrigerator in the room. The downside is that the sweet breakfast is not tasty, but thanks to the large number of cafes nearby this is not a problem. Entrance to the hotel is only by calling the receptionist - it would be more convenient to open the door yourself using the key.

We stayed at the hotel for five nights and found it to be very outdated and run-down. The elevator only worked about 20% of the time. Even when it was working, you still had to climb four flights of stairs just to reach it. We also experienced other issues during our stay, including one day when there was no hot water. On a positive note, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to make up for the poor condition of the hotel and the inconveniences we experienced.

We stayed at the hotel for five nights and found it to be very outdated and run-down. The elevator only worked about 20% of the time. Even when it was working, you still had to climb four flights of stairs just to reach it. We also experienced other issues during our stay, including one day when there was no hot water. The building itself was a bit awkward (stairs galore), and needing to hand the keys over to reception every time is a bit old-fashioned. But the room and service were excellent, my only complaint was a weird loud noise every time I opened the bathroom door.

The staff at Hotel Cosmotel were AMAZING! Everyone is so kind and very, very helpful! We had wonderful advice for using the metro and also great recommendations for things to do that were of particular interest to our teen daughter like the zoo and a less touristy aquarium! The rooms were clean. The breakfast was tasty. It was also great to come back to the AC while it’s so hot in Paris! I cannot emphasize enough how great the staff was though! The very kind gentlemen working the desk made our stay so much more enjoyable! Ils étaient merveilleux!
