South Beach has a lot to offer, especially for families. We enjoyed the walk to the pier and two gazebos, but you could also swim in the pool or let kids play in the very nice play area. The breakfast was as expected for a continental breakfast. The dining area is large, a beautifully decorated with wooden tables and beach memorabilia, unlike lodging from the chains--often small, no character, and with the news blaring. The staff was very helpful and gracious. I felt it was a good value. They do charge a $38 resort fee, and although we didn't use it, that seemed fair. There was a nautical/beach theme throughout, which I enjoyed.

This is a hidden gem for sure! The hotel is dated, and doesn’t have all the amenities as a big chain, however it is very clean, staff is beyond friendly, and you cannot beat the location! 3 outdoor pools, a hot tub, play ground, & volleyball. We will definitely be returning!

Such a fun, sweet spot for my family of five! Pools were warm even though the weather was not! Cute, clean “beach”. Rooms were fine enough. Fantastic location and plenty on site to do!

Well kept. Two pools a play area for kids and a small beach. Spacious outdoor lawn areas and a great peer and dock to enjoy. Marblehead is close by for shopping or a ferry ride to the islands. Great place for families!

The web site said they had 3 pools, I counted 2 and a small kiddie pool. The pool close to Lake Erie needed to be cleaned and swept out, also the water was low, it really needed filled up. The hot tub was more of a swimming pool, it was constantly occupied by people who just wanted to use it as a warm pool without the jets on, usually 10 people at a time. So if you wanted to use it, you had to WAIT until the group decided to leave. The room and hallway had a strange smell to it. The tub filled up when you took a shower, so the next person had to wait until the tub emptied. It seemed to me like a retirement home or if you didn’t have children this wasn’t the place for you. The mattress was a little on the springy side, and not firm at all. The pillows were like pan cakes, could have used more than 2. All in all if you didn’t have a boat or were not related to anyone else staying there, I would NOT recommend this place for a weekend getaway. No restaurant on the grounds either. Only one place to eat near by. Much needed attention needs to be done to this place.

Nothing on website said pools where closed after Labor Day. Was told because we booked thru travel agent we could not have balcony room so we looked out the window to a wall. An extra charge for 94 dollars was changed at time of checkin. No refrigerator or micro wave. Toilet dirty, looked like blood spots on bathroom door. We left before 11 o'clock after second night but was charged for three nights. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Positive - Very clean facility and rooms were clean. Family Friendly. Negative - Most of the staff was not very friendly, rarely made eye contact. However, they did respond if we had questions. A few were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to converse with the families. Negative - The pillows were all flat, recommend getting better quality. Smoking was allowed in all pool areas.

Right on lake Eerie with a small swimming beach access, several pools including a very kid friendly one right outside the door with view of the lake. There is also beautiful little cottages to stay on which we will try next time, but the resort itself was fantastic too. The beds were a little hard, which is just a personal preference and cell phone signal was very spotty. TV was available but very limited amount of channels, if that matters to anyone and lost signal quite a lot. Also, the front desk only has someone there until 7pm. We had a toilet clogged and were unable to get ahold of the after hours staff we were told to call, but ended up fixing it ourselves pretty easily. No fridge in the room, which might also be personal preference but something we are just used to with our stays. The location is stunning, yet only a short drive away from dining options and shopping. We are planning on staying here again for our next trip.

Balcony off room and personal jet tub are highlights of this easy to access location with genuinely friendly staff. Having the option for a less expensive, low frills stay that is still more upscale than basic modern hotels is a gift when looking for a last minute weekend getaway. Right on lake Eerie with a small swimming beach access, several pools including a very kid friendly one right outside the door with view of the lake. Although the website and the front door says that check in is up until 11 PM, we arrived at 7:30 PM and the office was closed, the lights were out and there was a envelope taped to the outside entrance door with my name on it. Inside where two past keys to the room, and a document telling us what room number. However, there were no directions, there were no parking lot lights, there was no way to find the building or specific room without simply walking around with your luggage, exploring! Anyone could have taken one of the two keys from the envelope on the door and gone to our room before we arrived. I didn’t relish the idea of walking into some kind of trap At 7:30 PM!! When we were booking the stay, the website said that there were only five rooms left and we were getting the best deal for a one night stay at the price of $120. However, when we arrived, we found that the entire building was empty. They had four floors and we were the only room that was rented that evening. Once all of the fees, taxes, service cost etc were applied the one night stay total was $180.00 What a ripoff!!!

I feel this place is put together very well. The staff were really great. The only thing I would add to this property is to provide a golf cart for guests to use on the property. I have pulmonary fibroids and I use oxygen. I was not able to go to the big pool or the beach

Host was so nice originally got a ground floor room but really wanted a balcony he let us go see the room before changing. We changed rooms and was so worth it.

Well kept. Two pools a play area for kids and a small beach. Spacious outdoor lawn areas and a great peer and dock to enjoy. Marblehead is close by for shopping or a ferry ride to the islands. Great place for families!

The room we had did have the ADA bathroom that we requested which was a plus. It is convenient to restaurants and places to sight see. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

South Beach has a lot to offer, especially for families. We enjoyed the walk to the pier and two gazebos, but you could also swim in the pool or let kids play in the very nice play area. The breakfast was as expected for a continental breakfast. The dining area is large, a beautifully decorated with wooden tables and beach memorabilia, unlike lodging from the chains--often small, no character, and with the news blaring. The staff was very helpful and gracious. I felt it was a good value. They do charge a $38 resort fee, and although we didn't use it, that seemed fair. There was a nautical/beach theme throughout, which I enjoyed.

Fairly updated, nice place. Bayside view was main draw for us. Underwhelmed with the breakfast...cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, mini rolls/donuts, bread for toast, oatmeal packets. Grounds were nice for kids. Ideal if have a boat/jet ski. "microwave/fridge available upon request" failed to mention $20/night fee. Only public ice machine was down and had to get from front desk that rationed. Only drink machine had to be unplugged to recycle to work, ate money and was out of the first 3 choices. Staff was pleasant and courteous but seemed burdened with management constraints/environment.

Very cute and clean resort. Not a whole lot to do this time of year though. The beds are not as comfortable however and pillow was flat as a pancake. Breakfast was ok. Very loud stomping from people above us. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay

Clean.. not updated but clean.. check in staff was great .. easy check in .. lake area is amazing.. my wife and I were looking forward to sleeping in on our getaway.. 6 am we were woke by screaming kids … walls are paper thin.. this did not stop .. called office at 730 to see if they could resolve… was asked why I’m complaining about not sleeping if it’s 730am.. basically we should be awake I guess..200 bucks for a courtyard room .. we should be able to sleep all we want I think .. mattresses hard as a rock.. breakfast is juice and cereal .. nothing hot .. beautiful area just old place and management doesn’t wanna be bothered… We saw the lake area and thought we may book for a week and bring kids .. after the overnight experience we will choose something else ..

Paid $32 resort fee that was to include breakfast. There was cereal, packaged off brand doughnuts and muffins. We weren't able to use the pool or hot.tub out of season. Felt the resort fee was too much for off season.. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and bed was very comfortable.

The web site said they had 3 pools, I counted 2 and a small kiddie pool. The pool close to Lake Erie needed to be cleaned and swept out, also the water was low, it really needed filled up. The hot tub was more of a swimming pool, it was constantly occupied by people who just wanted to use it as a warm pool without the jets on, usually 10 people at a time. So if you wanted to use it, you had to WAIT until the group decided to leave. The room and hallway had a strange smell to it. The tub filled up when you took a shower, so the next person had to wait until the tub emptied. It seemed to me like a retirement home or if you didn’t have children this wasn’t the place for you. The mattress was a little on the springy side, and not firm at all. The pillows were like pan cakes, could have used more than 2. All in all if you didn’t have a boat or were not related to anyone else staying there, I would NOT recommend this place for a weekend getaway. No restaurant on the grounds either. Only one place to eat near by. Much needed attention needs to be done to this place.

The continental breakfast could have added proteins and more options than just finger pastries and cereal. Also they only had one ice machine in the whole place which didn’t work. The room and staff were nice and would stay agin but would improve the facility more if they have better breakfast choices and more ice machines available.

This would be a very nice vacation destination if there where more restaurants in the local area of the resort. No easy microwave for guest and only a cold breakfast to syart your day. Over all not really worth the money you pay for the experience.

Hi, Wonderful place. Please consider irons w/iron board in each room, and the towels were clean, but a bit discolored- you may need to replace( but they were clean). Overall, a great getaway!
