It felt a little clinical and whilst spacious did not give any great impression of comfort. Large group staying at hotel did not interfere with our stay but made the breakfast buffet a bit of a scrum. However the choice at and value of breakfast was good. A bit impersonal as a place to stay was the balance with convenience.

Our room was small and very basic, though with a small balcony. The bathroom had a shower that relied on a water pump, which produced rhythmic surges in the pressure. The paper products were on the rough side.We stayed in a newer section, which has an elevator. The main building has a very elegant staircase, which fortunately we did not have climb, an agreeable old-fashioned parlor, and a serviceable breakfast room. Theoretically, there is a bar, but in practice there is no one to serve. There is good parking, which costs extra of course and must be reserved in advance. The staff is helpful and hospitable. The breakfast buffet featured a good selection of breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, yogurt, coffee, cocoa, juices, etc. The hotel is well located for restaurants and shopping, as well as sightseeing.

The location is top-notch for dining and sight-seeing. The breakfast (extra charge, as is universal in France, but in this case a very small one) is wonderful, with many local products. This hotel is in a good location close to the Hotel de Ville and near plenty of restaurants. It was a basic room, but was a decent size, clean and comfortable enough. The shower was powerful and the temperature of the water was easily controlled, so bonus points for that! The reception staff were really friendly and very helpful, and made us feel welcome despite our limited French. We didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on this - there are plenty of cafes nearby as an alternative. We would certainly stay here again if we return to Poitiers.

I cannot say enough about the staff! They were extremely helpful, helped with dinner recommendations and reservations, and went above and beyond. The hotel is unique and located in the heart of the old city. Walking distance to the city square and surrounded by excellent bistros - too numerous to count. A very short walk to the amazing park which was not only elegant, but blooming!

I cannot say enough about the staff! They were extremely helpful, helped with dinner recommendations and reservations, and went above and beyond. The hotel is unique and located in the heart of the old city. Walking distance to the city square and surrounded by excellent bistros - too numerous to count.
