Excellent from the moment we checked in. The hotel is directly across from Copacabana beach. The beach amenities are compliments of the hotel, they offer at no extra charge, umbrellas, chairs and towels. The beach staff are very attentive and our belongings while enjoying the beach were kept safe. The rooftop pool and outdoor restaurant area provided delicious dining and drink options, as well as stunning views of Copacabana. The hotel staff made us feel at home and our room was very clean and accommodating, view a great view of Christ the redeemer. The breakfast every morning offered a wonderful selection and healthy juices, along with a spectacular view to get you ready for the day ahead. If you enjoy a good workout the gym at the hotel will not disappoint, you can get in a nice workout and again the views will make going to the gym worthwhile. We truly enjoyed our stay at Porto Bay Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana beach.

Location is perfect! Every room has a balcony, which is big plus. On the 20 floor is a resort area: Pool , chairs with umbrella, bar , Fitness center . Restaurant on 5 floor ( very good breakfast)

Rooftop is amazing. The staff are so friendly. Miguel on the rooftop was very welcoming. Great location clean. Only area of improvement was the aircon was very loud so had to shut it off at night.

We had a great stay here with a beautiful view! All of the people at the hotel were really friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. The only thing is that they don’t have parking at the hotel but they’ll give you recommendations of where to park nearby.

O quarto nao estava adequadamente limpo. Tinha 1 meia do antigo hodpede esquecida no sofa na sala. O ar do quarto nao gelava o suficiente. A equipe de atendimento da piscina era lenta e pouco interessada nos hospedes. Pedi 1 agua de coco, 2 horas depois o atendente me avisou que estava quente e ele iria por para gelar. 1 hora depois solicitei a outro atrndente a agua de coco,salientando que ja tinha bastante tempo que tinha solicitado. A atendente foi ate o balcao do bar da piscina e provavelmente comentou sobre meu pedido. Nesse momento coincidentemente tinha me levantado para ir ao banheiro e flagrei o atendente do bar jogando as coisas no balcao muito chateado ,reclamando que tinha me avisado que o coco estava quente...uma atitude inadmissível. Acho que a gerencia do hotel precisa tomar ciencia dessa situação que ocorreu ontem,25/12.

I find housekeeping was very bare minimum, they only changed the shower towels didn’t bother changing the face towels and it took me forever to get an iron to steam my clothes. When I did receive the iron it was hot as if they were waiting on someone else to finish using it.

Die Sauberkeit ist leider eines 4 Sterne Hotels nicht würdig. Wir hatten drei Zimmer gebucht und in einem Zimmer lagen unter der Bettdecke noch Socken vom Vormieter, beim zweiten Zimmer war die Fensterscheibe mit Fett beschrieben und dieses wurde nicht gesäubert. In zwei Zimmern war die Drückerplatte von der Toilette defekt. Was positiv war, die Freundlichkeit des Personals, das Frühstück war ausreichend und lecker, die Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten war gut. Die Aussicht war sehr schön. Was stört aber das Hotel nichts für kann, die 6 Spurige Straße vor dem Hotel. Das führt dazu das es im Zimmer abends doch etwas lauter sein könnte zum schlafen. Zwei von fünf Personen hatten wegen der Lautstärke Probleme zu schlafen.

The phone in our room never worked even after letting the front desk know about it twice and one of the dim lights in the bathroom flickered often, but the vibe was immaculate. Definitely worth it.

Very noisy, from corridor noise and from the street outside. There is no sound proofing and it sounds like the balcony door is open even when it's closed. Such a shame as the hotel is otherwise great. Very modern and clean, huge comfortable beds, great roof terrace and perfect location. Breakfast is pretty good too. They just need to invest in sound proofing to get 5 stars.

We paid for a panoramic room, yet half of our view was an old apartment building, that blocked our view. The toilet had a constant leak. Out AC barely worked. The temperature in our room never cooled lower than 75 Fahrenheit, which made our stay very uncomfortable. The room phone didn’t work, so we couldn’t order room service. The room smelled of mildew, and we could see mildew seeping through the paint in the ceiling. We did complain, but were told the hotel was full. Upon checkout we complained again, and were told that they would make a note of it. We were never offered anything for our inconvenience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our stay was extremely uncomfortable.

Very good hotel. However we had a side view balcony room which was oddly arranged. Big comfy bed but only one side table and lamp!! Would have been Excellent if room was better.. Great position on Copacabana beach with allocated space on the beach. Good lobby area. Breakfast excellent. Poolbar on the 20th floor great.

Good location, if they renovated the rooms, I would understand the 4 star rating. Rooms are dated and have simple wooden furniture. Small bathrooms. Take the room with the balcony overlooking Copacabana (room 602)

I really like the staff. They were beyond incredible. Truly would have been a 5 star stay but the check-in was delayed by over an hour which was frustrating. However, staff was accomodating, friendly, and truly great people. Would recommend

The hotel is in a good location right on the beach at Posto 2. You have wonderful views of the entire Copa Cabana. Generally, the staff is very helpful and responsive. The restaurant is nice and the food is good. All well worth it and very competitive. We hit a bit of a snag on checkout. We were told about the transportation options to the airport using the hotel limo and that they are the way way they are and if we don't like them we are free to take a taxi. That was not helpful and borderline rude.

I want to take the time to say thank you to the entire staff of PortoBay RJ. Alison did my check-in and was stellar, his colleague Alice who helped me with tiny issues that came up with our room (2) and gave me suggestions for hair products, we could not have asked for a kinder staff. The few small issues we had were immediately resolved and when we forgot cutlery after having to get food later in the night they team did not hesitate.Thank you to the entire team for making our stay peaceful and pleasant.

I loved my room. It was an actual beach and sea view I could enjoy from my bed with the floor to ceiling windows compared to some of the other hotels I tried on the beach. The breakfast was another highlight. The champagne was a lovely surprise. The staff were very nice and friendly as well. The welcome drink was a nice touch too.

Porto bay was a convenient, modern hotel situated in the centre of coco cabana beach. Views from our room were amazing. Thought the breakfast was good though never been locked in before after the 1030 deadline. The breakfast room was small considering the size of the hotel and 2 lifts are simply not enough for a 20 floor hotel. Apart from this the hotel great, staff at the roof top bar and reception were exceptional.

My family spent four nights at the property and had a wonderful time. The hotel couldn\'t be better situated facing the beach, within walking distance to restaurants all up and down the "strip". The staff was very nice and helpful and set up drivers for us when needed. They have a plunge pool and full bar and restaurant located on the roof where we spent a lot of time, as well as an excellent breakfast buffet every morning. Also, a gym overlooking the pool and beach. The building seems to have been built in the 50s or 60s and has a great MCM decor. Our suites (1501 and 1601) looked cool with updated bathrooms, not to mention the balconies overlooking the beach. The hallways were dark and worn but other than that, everything was great! We would stay there again.
