Super 8 by Wyndham Manchester Airport

We booked 2 months in advance and specifically asked for NO STAIRS. We arrive and not only is the elevator out of service. It’s been removed from the hotel completely we were told. Our room was on the 3rd floor. I have mobility issues. We insisted on a main floor room. There were none. They put us on the second floor. Up and down those stairs caused me so much pain! If I had known about the elevator, I would have booked elsewhere. Please add that information on your website.

Overall, the hotel is OK for a short stay. Rooms are great. Elevator was not working during our stay but was taken care of the next day .Breakfast is minimal with only toasts and cereal. Considering it's a budget hotel, it is still a good choice.

We've stayed here before an its slowly been going down hill as far as cleanliness. The bathroom shower had mold around the bottom and the carpets thru out the hotel are dirty. The elevators were broken so had to use the stairs. There were people standing in the parking lot drinking when we left for dinner and still there when we returned 2.5 hours later. Not something we were comfortable with. Sadly we will not be staying here again.

The bed in the room is comfy. The room has no mirror outside the bathroom. No place to hang coats or other clothes. Very few outlets to use as well. Not many places to eat outside of a diners and taverns nearby. The person thst checked us in neglected to tell us that none of the side entrances can be used even though your key will open the door. The emergency alarm will trigger. Not much parking. Not enough room for guests to get food or enjoy the breakfast thats offered.

Elevator broke down and had a room on third floor. Also no bar soap was provided for washing hands. Front desk was not helpful

Dirty, unkept, bad maintenance, broken elevator, dirty surroundings, impolite staff. The hotel is dirty everywhere. The elevator is broken and my room wa on the third floor. I asked at check-in if they planned on fixing it. The front desk lady said they were trying, yet for the entire week no one showed up to work on it. I asked other guests and they said the elevator has been broken for weeks. The rooms are dirty and there was no personnel or staff cleaning the rooms at anytime during my stay. When I asked, I was told they were a “green hotel”. Had to go to the counter to ask for clean towels, toilet paper, etc. The hotel surroundings are soiled with trash and leaves everywhere. Breakfast was provided from 6-10am but not kept stocked. My third morning there was no coffee, fruit or yogurt. My fourth morning, I came down before leaving for work at 6:45am and it was closed. Later found out they didn’t have anyone to open the breakfast area until 7:30am. Overall this was a bad experience and I will avoid at all costs staying at a Motel 8.

The room was disgusting. The shower doors were broken, Blood and hair on the sheets. Simply gross.

The room had cockroaches and bed bugs. I got bit on the foot my first night so I checked out immediately.

The hotel is dirty with stained carpets, beat up stained walls with overflowing trash can in front. The sheets hadn't been changed prior to our visit with a large tear in the bottom sheet. No staff provided clean linen or towels during a 3 day stay. The staff were unresponsive.

We didn’t even make it 2 hours. It was so disgusting. We had blood spots on bathroom wall, lights didn’t work, bugs coming out of the wall. Trash all over the floor when we walked in. It smelled we felt so unsafe. It was like walking into a horror movie where you most likely will die. This place was so bad so bad. I am not even id sure we made it two hours.

Truly the worst property I've ever encountered. Dirty & dismal. From the filthy, stained lobby furniture to the crumbs in the bed, to the cigarette-burns in the comforter, to the disgusting shower. One of the beds even had what appeared to be a sheet of foam instead of a blanket. The little taped-on-the-walls 'warning' notes from management didn't help either. Absolutely terrible. Avoid like the plague (which you well might catch there).

The facility is dirty with stained carpets and dirty worn paint. The trashcan at the entrance overflowing with trash. The sheets had not been changed prior to our arrival with a large tear in the sheet. No one cleaned our room or provided towels or linen over a 3 day stay. There was toilet paper stuffed in the door peephole and a dirty plunger in the bathroom

If they only cleaned the place it wouldn't be so bad. The rooms were dirty, with stains on everything. The halways and elevater were also filthy.

This place is disgusting, rated 6/10 should be be 2/10. The whole 3rd floor wreaked of marijuana and the smell of it in my room was more intense. Changed rooms to the first floor, room smelled musty do I opened the window. Ant traps on the floor although I didn’t see any ants. Googled how to prevent bringing bed bugs home with you from a hotel.

I was unable to sleep all night due to a very loud screaming all night coming from the room next door! When 8 brought it to the attention of the front desk he said I would have to wait to tell them at a 8am the next morning.

Upon arrival to the room, the light switch entering did not work. We arrived late and the room was very dark. We had to use our flashlight on our phones to find the switches on the lamps by the bed. The next day after waking up and the room had more natural I unfortunately found stains on the lower half of the bed that appeared to be stains from bowel movements of former guests. Upon leaving in the morning for the event we were in town for, there was no staff at the front desk to report this to. I have pictures to show what was seen. Upon returning the line was so long and I was exhausted I just returned to our room. We checked out as soon as we woke up because we could not wait to leave!!

On the plus side, the room was clean, well kept. Bed was OK. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. However, water pressure in shower was nonexistent, unable to take proper shower. The night clerk was curt and unfriendly. Breakfast was very limited and quickly picked over. This property has gone downhill since we stayed here in pre-COVID era. Now, the only way i would stay here again is if the alternative was sleeping in my car.

Our stay at this location was average. The room had a large stain on carpet, and there was hair still in the bottom of the shower. I can over look that, but the broken shower door I can not overlook. The housekeeping didn’t seem that great in this facility. My wife went to give my 3 year old a shower. When she went to close the shower door it came off the track. My wife is short, but good thing she was able to hold the door up while I came in to put it back on the track. Whenever you try to close the shower door it came off the track every time so we were not able to close the shower door. Upon inspection of the wheel at the top the wheel was broke half way around the wheel. I did report this to the person at the front desk and she put it in the maintenance log so I will give them credit for that. The hotel is in a pretty good location. The signage is not great as I drove right by because it’s up on the hill behind other businesses. Other than that it is pretty close to the Mall and many places to eat and get gas. The staff was very friendly at this facility. The one person at the front went out of her way to find me an iron and ironing board so we could iron my wife’s graduation gown. The amenities are not great in this facility. The rooms do not have an iron or a hair dryer in the rooms. You have to as the front desk for those of you need them as they don’t have enough for all the rooms. I was lucky to get an iron so we were very thankful for the front desk person.

First room had no lighting. Second room smelled of smoke despite being a non-smoking hotel.

My stay wasn't very good bed was uncomfortable the people in the room next to me were up till 130am didn't end up staying the night checked out at 2am worst stay in. Awhile may not go back

Fair price, convenient location, comfortable room. Really needs updating as it's old. No chair for desk, no quide for TV, no instructions for where things like Ice were located.

You can hear from the room if there are people in the hallway.

This is now my go-to hotel in Manchester. Very nice, affordable, clean rooms. Most especially, all the staff are hospitable, efficient, and genuinely interested in guest satisfaction.

We showed up a night early and asked if they had a room that we could rent. The man behind the desk refused to look. He said its midnight the rooms are being cleanned. I said if you have nothing thats fine but could you look in the computer. He said no its not needed. My brother said its fine lets get a different hotel. I said fine but then i will spend my time there, im not coming back after tonight. The man said thats best.

Computer system was down for check-in. Booked a room with a king-sized bed. Not available. Got offered a room with 2 queen-sized beds. Ended up getting a room with a single queen-sized bed on the ground floor next to the parking lot and all the smokers. No water fountain to fill a water bottle. The breakfast area consists of two, tiny tables and 8 chairs. The room floor was dirty. Only one light was functioning in the room. The mini-fridge and the AC were very loud. What a shame. This hotel and it's management can and should do much better.

In general the room was adequate, cheaper than some surrounding places and convenient to the airport.Could have been cleaner. There was no chair at the desk for doing computer work. When I arrived before check-in time I was told rather indifferently and sullenly that I had to come back at noon. (I have a hearing loss and he had an accent which lead me to mis-hear him the first time.) I did that and he said, "I told you 2:00" in a very accusative and rude voice.

Never ended up staying. Man at counter was rude to me and also witnessed him being rude to customer on the phone. I didn’t have my debit card on me at the time and even though the room was paid for in full I was turned away. . I requested a refund and am having a hard time getting anywhere with this.

Staff gave me trouble for coming in late, Had no room prepped and told me at first that they had no room, and didn’t care that I had a reservation. They made me wait for over 30 mins at 3 am.

Individual at desk Wyatt, i believe, needs a personality. No welcoming greeting whatsoever! Checking in, license and credit card was it. Then hands me the key card, end of transaction. Room, stains on carpet. Bobby pins and clothing tag left on carpet. Coffee maker with 2 cups, 1 lid, a packet of each regular and decaff. Bathroom had hair on shower walls as well as spots that should've came off of cleaned correctly. Pubic hair on floor. No blackout drapes?? Ughh Wouldn't recommended or stay again.

Such great staff here: quick, efficient, awesome hospitality. The room was very clean, simple and newly updated. Much much better than other hotels with similar rates!!

Good for a night at airport

It's good an relatively close to the airport and the reason primarily that I am staying here. The hotel is next to a sports bar which is very decent and very convenient.

The area was not great. There were homeless people sleeping in the parking lot next to the hotel. The room appeared somewhat clean but I am sure a black light would uncover something. The front desk staff clearly live there walking around with sweat or sleep pants and slippers looking like he just woke up. Not rude but not professional either. Breakfast? What a joke. lol. A toddler wouldn’t eat that. People party in the parking lot all night. So mad we got stuck there. Not worth the money. If you can find a better place, GO THERE. Don’t trust there response either the hotel has not been updated. On a good note the hotel had a cleaning staff an older man who was very nice and helpful. He is the only thing I found that was good about this place.

Great room. Just a little weird checking in at 1 am and having to dodge parking lot parties.

Not much of a continental breakfast , as advertised on web site.

Clean room, weak breakfast, lobby area needs upgrade

First impression was not great. The lobby was old and had a strong cleaner smell. Almost burned your eyes. Carpets and walls looked dirty but I think they were just well worn. They did have a sign saying they were in the midst of renovation. The rooms were clean and updated. Very nice. As well as the bathrooms. No complaints there at all. Would have liked a microwave but not a big deal. Breakfast was toast, frozen waffles, cereal, pouches of oatmeal. There was coffee and juice and apples and oranges. A hot option would have been nice for the price of stay but it was better than nothing. Only real complaint is people were smoking just outside the window of breakfast area. We just closed the window, but they should consider moving their smoking area.

The entire hotel smelled of old cigarette smoke and especially my "non-smoking" room. There were no blackout drapes so the ambient lighting from outside was in the room all night long. The included breakfast was just carbohydrates and bad carbs at that. No protein to be found. Better not to offer it than to offer junk. I wasn't expecting the Ritz. But you need a fill cigarette smoke mitigation effort and install blackout drapes.

The hotel didnt have any breakfast as advertised. Instead they had small baggies with an apple, granola bar and a juice. No mention of a refund or some form of refund to make up for this.

The property is close to the airport and the highway so it is convenient. It’s old though and wear and tear is pretty visible. The elevator wasn’t working. There is an accessible entrance and handicap parking places, but no ramp leading to the accessible entrance. One of the lights in my bathroom was nonfunctional and there was a wall switch at the entrance to the room that didn’t seem to do anything. However, it was available at short notice and the price was right. Desk staff were friendly and professional.

Everything was just right! Clean, comfortable, easy parking, good coffee and some food!
