We frequently stay at HI Express hotels and were pleased to see one so close to our son's house in Austin, Texas. We booked two nights, July 22-24. The basics were good: the room was clean and quiet. There was some room for improvement: the towels were a bit cheap and scratchy, the Dove soaps were too highly perfumed and the plastic cutlery at breakfast was so small and flimsy they were virtually worthless. But unless you are arriving by Uber/Lyft, I recommend you book a different hotel. On the night of July 22, two cars were broken into in the hotel parking lot. Windows were smashed out, one car was stolen. I saw mention of a car break-in in an earlier Google review before we booked, but felt that the hotel must have taken action to prevent it from happening again. They put up signs stating that they are not responsible for any damage to your car. Or, park at your own risk. We decided not to take any chances and left that day, forfeiting our second night. Holiday Inn, are you listening? This problem is damaging your reputation and will cost you business. Get a security patrol and security cameras.

Gap under the door to the room is over an inch.. so you can hear EVERYTHING in the hallways all night. All three pieces of workout equipment are out of order, which should be told to people trying to book a room. Overall the hotel needs updating and some basic amenities added to compete with other local hotels.

Easy check-in, friendly staff, clean and spacious room, great breakfast, far enough from downtown hustle and bustle but fast getting there, lots of free off street parking. Depending on your room placement you might get a little highway noise. We were in room 218.

Very clean and quiet facility. All staff I encountered were friendly, professional and efficient. Pool was clean but showed some wear and tear. The only drawback was a shortage of towels, but being summertime and pool in use, I can see that could be a challenge if at capacity. We will have reason to travel back to this area several times in the next few months, and I will choose this hotel again.

I booked the handicap accessible room for the grab bars in the shower. Good thing I did as the tub was dirty, super slick and I came close to falling in the shower. The bottom was not cleaned properly leaving a slick film. Next time could be a major injury and a lawsuit.

We liked almost everything, disliked that the Tv didn’t swivel left to right for viewing from the couch or even from the other side of the bed was difficult because the tv was in the corner of the room . Odd? Exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work.also had to hold the handle on the toilet for it to flush completely That's about it, minor issues, great place we will return.

No one was at reception desk with a sign saying sorry be right back. Guy finally came & checked me in. Forgot to give me back DL & credit card which I didn’t realize until I was in room so I had to go back down & retrieve. Room has obviously been remodeled nicely but AC Swamp cooler smells dank & moldy.

My check in experience was lovely and the room was freshly remodeled. Then, after i fell asleep, there was shouting in the hall and people were shaking my door and trying to get into my room. I was terrified. I called the front desk and the clerk said "that was me" and she yelled at me for being in the wrong room. I told her that I had been given this room---that the number was written on my key and my key worked. She continued to berate me until i finally asked if she wanted me to get dressed, pack up, and move. She said i could stay in my room but I was so stressed out i couldn't sleep for a long time.

The Assistant General Manager Getu is extremely customer focused and exactly the guy you want at the front desk! His friendly demeanor and willingness to help with my accommodations made my stay very enjoyable. The breakfast buffet is lovely.

Hotel was about 10 minutes to sixth street. It was a good location to get on the highway to get where you’re going. Hotel was clean. Husband went to breakfast 1 day and wasn’t impressed. Bed was so hard and carpet was dirty. They allow pets, so we heard barking at different times. I think there might have been some burgleries while we were there, I saw a busted truck window and lots of glass. I saw piles of glass in 4 spots 😳 It was ok and the price was great.

Reserved a double bed room. Get there and all they had was a king with pull out sofa. After arguing with them, all that was offered was a 10% discount. In my opinion, si ce they didn't have any doubles and I needed the 2 beds, PLUS the sofa bed, tbey could have just given me 2 rooms to account for the bed loss. Breakfast had no taste and biscuits were rock hard
