There was no indication that the pool was out of order when we booked online or at check-in. We didn’t find out until we went down to the pool. We have children and they were disappointed and the room was non refundable.

For the price the hotel is comfortable. It is clean and the rooms are in good condition. The pool is a bit worn down and ugly and can use some renovation. Overall though we loved our stay and would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself.

Our family loved our room. We had a microwave and a refrigerator to where we were able to have our leftovers. The pool was the perfect temperature. Only downside was the Jacuzzi was not working. Wish they had an outdoor pool as well, we were happy To have the pool that we did. Breakfast was great. Even walking the hallways, I felt I could walk down there, barefoot it was clean.

The room itself was fine - except for a bad smell that was outgassing of the new blinds, according to the man at the hotel desk at checkout. I have chemical sensitivities and travel with a large air cleaner, which we ran constantly while we were there. Even so, it could not take the odor out of the air. Even my husband noticed the odor, so it must have been bad. Luckily, we were only there for one night. unfortunately, I would not stay there again.

Our room had a dirty, stained sheet on the bed when we arrived. We told the front desk, who said they would alert housekeeping-no one came, told them again in the morning after sleeping on top of the comforter all night-they told us they would alert housekeeping. The hotel then charged us $25 for the sheet! Hot tub didn’t work- was cold and wouldn’t get hot. Front desk was obviously unhelpful with our room situation. It really put a damper on the stop.

Stayed at Wingate by Wyndham in Columbia one night for a business trip right after Christmas. When I checked into my room, I smelled smoke--and this is a non-smoking room. I also had trouble with the tv. So I contacted the Front Desk and they immediately addressed my concerns and checked me into a room across the hall. It was great; no odor of smoke, the tv worked fine and the bed was super comfy! Terrific to have coffee and bottled water in the morning to take with me on the road. Excellent experience!

Let me start by saying everything but the bed was fine. I stay in hotels almost daily working on the road. The bed next to the window in room 107 has the worst worn out mattress I’ve used to date. There was a huge sink hole in the middle of the mattress. My back and hip are in terrible pain and the front desk responded with Expedia will have a receipt for you.

Room was clean. Walls are too thin. Did not appreciate having to listen to the room next door having sex. Should have been forewarned that the hotel was full of high school students that would be practicing singing and goofing around outside our room window. Parents / teachers yelling at students in the lobby at 9:45 pm. I had to be up early in the morning and wanted to go to bed early. It didn't happen with everything going on. I paid way too much for this room to put up with all the noise!

Clean room. HVAC wall control did not work so I had to control from wall unit. TV system was not friendly. I drove a long day and wanted to sit in the advertised hot tub. Pool & tub were out of service. That should be in the description.

Our room was right next to the elevator mechanical room so we heard the elevator all night long. Sleeping was terrible. Plus the toilet would run periodically throughout the night. Couldn't wait to leave. We checked in early so not sure why we were given this particular room. The hotel should NEVER put anyone in this room unless they absolutely have to and communicate it will very noisy. Will not recommend this place.

I checked into this hotel and was given a room on the main level that looked out into the parking lot. The parking lot is shared with an extended stay hotel, which is where a lot of people on the verge of homelessness were staying. People were loitering in the parking lot all afternoon and evening, some cars would come and stay for only a few minutes and then leave, there were homeless people with all their belongings living in the bushes next to that hotel. All of these things made me feel uneasy and then I realized my window did not have a lock on it. I called the front desk and the employee came down and said that was odd, but maintenance had left for the evening. He was going to find a dowel rod or something similar to put in the window so it wouldn’t be able to open from the outside. Traveling alone as a woman, I did not feel comfortable with this and ended up moving hotels. I stayed at a hotel one block over that was owned by the same company that owns the Wingate. My experience there was fabulous. The manager from Wingate called me the next morning and apologized for the lack of security in my room and said he refunded hotels.com for me and that I would be able to get a refund thru them. I appreciated this very much. I did not feel safe at that hotel. When I returned home and contacted hotels.com they had not received the refund. They reached out to Wingate and were told it was a nonrefundable booking. So the manager never refunded the room at all.

When I arrived to check-in, no one was at the desk. There was no sugn nor bell to rung. I waited a few minutes. Finally, a man came from the area to the right of the entrance. The room that I selected online was not the room i was given. At 1:46 am, I was startled awake by some man in the adjacent room who was coughing, gagging, and throwing up. This lasted for several minutes. There was no way anyone could sleep through this, so I called the front desk. I was moved to a different room in the middle of the night. At this point, I was wide awake and never got back to sleep until after 4 AM. All this occurred after spending 8 hours at the hospital with my 74 year old husband who had knee replacement surgery. This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had in 67 years!

Great place! We were greeted from the very beginning with a great smile and attitude; please keep in mind we checked in at 2am. The hotel was clean from the very entrance, our room was clean as well; it felt very organized and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff super friendly. Food delicious!!

We had reservations at the hotel next door only to try to check in and being told they canceled our reservation. With no place to stay we went next door to the Wingate. Precious at the front desk was so helpful finding us a room there and helping us get the best price. Hotel was clean, good beds, and everything we could ask for.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. My wifi wasn't connecting properly, so I called the front desk. The person who answered the phone had just arrived for his shift, had not checked in with his manger and was very rude to me. Staff shouldn't be answering the phone is they are that frustrated with guests. I also could hear every sink, toilet and shower running. There was zero noise barriers. I didn't get to enjoy breakfast, but it looked good. The check-in and check-out process was fast and efficient and staff at those points were very good.

I asked for a first floor room a month ago. When I arrive, no furst floor available. I asked to speak with the manager. She was unavailable and never contacted mecduring my stay. Third stay in two months at this location and will not return. Extremely disappointed.

We only stayed one night. Ryan, the manager, was so nice after I messed up the reservation. The hotel was very accommodating. There's a lot of road noise, but it did not prevent us from getting a good night's sleep. Would stay here again.

We stay at the Wingate when we are in Columbia. We enjoy this hotel because of the location to the hospitals. The staff is always friendly and courteous when we arrive and leave. Very clean hotel. My employment uses this hotel when they fly out of Columbia for business too.

Staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean, but the area around the elevators smelled like sewer! The facility itself seemed safe, but the Extended Stay hotel adjacent was sketchy with a lot of people coming and going and looking down on their luck.

As a whole it was a good facility with a good staff. Accessibly was a serious problem. It was not readily accessible from a main highway. It is tucked away back behind other buildings and signage for access was nonexistent.

So convenient to the interstate. So many medical around it is great to see the extended stay area. The atmosphere was relaxing. The hotel was so comfortable and relaxing that we laterally checked out at the last minute. We just sat and read and enjoyed coffee.

The breakfast was awful besides the strawberry banana yogurt. The yogurt container however was way too small. The pancakes tasted like garbage and there was no butter. The bowls also weren’t very accessible for the cereal and should be located near the cereal station. There was also no bible in our room. The blankets were stiff and didn’t feel like they had been washed in weeks. Still, make the breakfast better.

Hotel & room were good. Stay was comfortable. Probably the only part that needs improvement was the breakfast. There were so many people trying to eat at the same time, that you couldn't get to the waffle maker or keep up with all the food being out and available.
