The area was incredibly sketchy, and the room reeked of smoke. However the ac worked great and the bed was incredibly comfortable. For a place to rest your head it gets the job done, other than the smell the room never felt dirty.

So, I get there and the first desk clerk told me that if I upgrade to a double room that I will on the side of the hotel, which is the better and cleaner side. I told him that I was going to the store and I'll be right back. I get back and there was a different desk clerk working. I attempted to check in and told him that I did not want a room in the back. He then says to me since I have a double that I will have to go on the side.I replayed the conversation between the previous workers and myself had. He got rude and told me that he was just going to refund my money. I had just finished driving 1 1/2 and it was my birthday and I was extremely tired. Everytime I come to this hotel and this particular desk clerk works, he puts me in the back of the hotel. Super 8 use to be my go to because of the hospitality and having a nice room on the side versus rough and ragged in the back. I will no longer stay at this hotel. It is a shame because I have stayed there more than 6 times throughout the summer when I travel to Williamsburg.

Our stay was okay overall. The room was clean, but fairly basic and just met expectations. There was a strong musty odor that made it less comfortable, and the surrounding area didn’t feel particularly safe to us. It was adequate for a short stay, but we wouldn’t choose to return. We would rate our experience 3 out of 5 stars.

Seedy part of town and trappers everywhere. Room stink like cigarettes and mold. Definitely the place to book if you’re looking to slum it - definitely not the place if you’re looking for comfort.
