Super 8 by Wyndham Middletown

Property is not maintained! Stains everywhere on carpets, chairs stained so bad we wouldn't sit in them. Bathroom door had been punched in and patched. Peep hole had toilet paper stuffed in it because half of it was missing and people can look into room. Walls are paper thin. Smelled of smoke or pot everywhere. 2 thin towels provided and no visible maid service. Ice machine ran out of ice. Had to get new keys every night because they stopped working. Stay away and spend a few extra bucks to stay at one of the surrounding hotels. Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name on this property!

Good location, right off the highway. Supermarket, and restaurants within walking distance. There was no free breakfast as advertised. A.M. front desk lady was always on her phone. Rooms are supposed to be smoke free but you can smell the smoke as you past the rooms. I wouldn't stay there again.

It was a welfare motel. The entrane door were held open by a rock.the other doors opened without the room card. My room door was damaged,I had to luft it up to close it.

The area felt unsafe and there were people standing around the side doors smoking all the time. Keys didn’t work properly in the doors. There was no ice machine on the second floor. There was no elevator. Breakfast was a take away brown bag with a small muffin, a small package of goldfish crackers and a little sealed cup of juice. The hotel is aged and really needs some Reno work done but the bedroom and bathrooms were clean. When we entered in our room, the microwave was running with nothing inside. We couldn’t get it to stop running any time the door was closed so we ended up unplugging it.

The corridors smell like cigarette smoke. People lingering immediately outside the entrances, smoking. Booked for three nights, left after one noisy, stinky night. Carpets really dirty, especially in the corridors and stairwell (there is no elevator). The locks on our room door were sooo loose. As if the door has been repeatedly tried to be pushed in. The card key didn’t work well, the tub didn’t drain after a shower, and the list goes on…

Checked into a room where the GFS outlet did not work and was crooked in the wall. Moved to room 2 which had a pungent smell when you walked in. Too tired to change rooms again. The linoleum floor in bathroom had mold underneath and was buckling up by bath tub. The "breakfast" consists of a packaged muffin or fruit bar and a small juice. The muffin had mold on top. I would not walk barefoot on the carpet. Day 3 the smoke alarm in hall went off. Everyone evacuated to find a guest dryer was smoking. 2 fire trucks later we were allowed back in. The fire dept. turned off the hot water so no shower on Day 4 when we were leaving.The staff was super nice and I actually felt sorry for them that they have to work in a dump like this. No compensation for lack of hot water or evacuation. The rooms usually run around $79/night but this was the weekend so it was double. It is only worth $78.

There was no air-conditioning in the hallway. It was very, very hot. Our shower water would not turn on at all. Overall, the hotel was fine for a fast overnight however, it clearly needs to be updated.

They knew they had no hot water for a week or more and told us to have Expedia call the hotel for a refund to me for the $110. They allowed me to pay for the room knowing the Super eight had no hot water to shower.

I don’t like how Super 8 let dogs stay in room and then book to someone that doesn’t have a dog you can still spell the Dog. Rooms should be separate

Good hotel. Nothing fancy. Nice staff. Walking distance to supermarket, liquor store and Buffalo Wings Restaurant. No pool.

The property needs to be remodeled. The rooms are dated and carpets are stained and old. The room smelled like smoke also.

The rooms were not well cleaned , the beds are bad and needs to be replaced , ot a good smell in the hallway and the rooms.

The carpet in the room felt grimy. The stairways were awful, smelled like a casino and paint chipping everywhere. The room was 203. It was loud like there was no noise control for overnight hours. The dead bolt was broken and it looked like the door has been broken down before. One of the beds was wrapped in plastic. We stayed the night because we arrive close to midnight. Woke up in the morning riddled in bug bites, including my husband and our three children. We looked up the bite markings turn out it was bedbugs, gross. The bite sites blister and the skin got extremely itchy. We complained and the manager gave us our refund. Unsafe for guest and bad for business. Please stay somewhere else. I hope they get inspected and get fined by the city.

The woman that checked me in was great, super friendly. Unfortunately the room was disgustingly dirty. There was sticky goo on the rug, the bathroom ceiling had water leak stains, the room smelled like cigarettes, and the carpet was filthy and damp. I showered (shower was great, hot water) and by the time I reached the bed my feet were dirty from the carpet.

Facility was trashed, smokey, mold, etc.... furnishings were trashed, towel racks half ripped out of the walls, pubic hairs in the bathtub... no refundable funds, forced to stay in those conditions or loose the money. Bad experience with super 8

I will never stay here again. It was so many stains on the bedspread, furniture and floor I didn’t even want to sleep in the bed or use the shower. I wish I would’ve taken pictures because it’s no way the chair had that many stains and they think it’s ok to have it in the room. Turned on the heat and it made the smoke detector go off. The front desk clerk told us not to worry about it. We had to search for the cord to the TV. It apparently fell out of the tv and fell behind the dresser.

Horrible i was bitten by bed bugs!

Place was dirty , disgustingly dirty. We did not even stay 1/2 hour. Beds had dirty sheets. Pee stained mattress , some dark brown stains on them. Floor dirty and stuff stuck to walls. I have pics of it all.

Hotel was very noisy. People yelling and banging till 3 am then back at it at 7. Bed was very uncomfortable. Carpets were dirty. Chair in room was disgusting. Will not revisit this hotel in the future.

The bed was comfortable. The coffee maker didn’t have a tray to actually make the coffee. The bathroom floor had nail heads popping up in the floor. They took a $100 deposit and their site said it was a $50 deposit. Convenient to Hannaford supermarket:)

Very noisy upstairs guests, kind of shabby furniture and curtains, loud dog barking in hall, could not get any water at shower (reported to desk), breakfast was carry out consisting of nutrigrain bar and fruit punch pouch. Key card erratic. Bed comfortable but chilly without extra blanket. Towels good. Internet a little erratic.

Very kind & accommodating staff, but place needs upgrades. Rugs are shot, bathroom sink is ancient, and room was stuffy and dark. Price point is fine for what we needed, but we hope to see this motel in a prime spot make some much needed renovations.

Smells of cigarettes and weed as well as old / not updated

Bed was comfortable, AC worked, but the entire place is dated and old. Appeared to have permanent residents living there, sink backed up, internet worked fine.

Room is older but clean..... son who is 154# laid on bed, rolled and the mattresses sunk in 😳 only 2 towels, 2 wash cloth and 2 hand towels for a room that can accommodate 4

You can hear every noise and movement in the hallway. As soon as staff started walking around early in the morning, it woke me up. I’m a very heavy sleeper.

I didnt like the wifi conditions being I work on the go and it kept disconnecting me. Otherwise my stay was fine.

Phone did not work or was falling apart rather- lock broke on second night stay and when I could t get in my room they had to open with a master key for me at 11:30 pm after a long day’s work, then they demanded that I had to switch rooms due to the keycard/lock problem and pack all of my stuff and move that late at night when there was nothing wrong with the door closing and locking- I packed all of my stuff and checked out right then! They still charged me for the full 6 nights and lied to Expedia and told them the following morning that I had not yet checked out when they knew I did. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND A DUMP

Not a nice place to stay. Received confirmation from the hotel that a king room was booked three weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told that Expedia overbooked so all they had left was a double bed room. Not impressed, but stuck with what they had as we weren't given advance notice from the hotel at all. Pics on website are deceiving. Definitely not as nice as the pics show. There was a terrible odour as soon as you walk in and even worse in the room. Bathroom sink was disgusting and definitely needs replacing....dirty and worn out. Room was not cleaned daily and beds weren't made dailiy. Garbage can wasn't emptied from previous guests."Breakfast included" as advertised on the website was a paper bag with a juice and a pre-packaged muffin and coffee/tea in caraffes. No other options for breakfast. No dining space. Cancelled our last night at this hotel. Couldn't stay another night.

I was not happy at all with this place. The front desk lady was very rude. Gave me a room that I didn’t reserve and then told me that was the only one they had left. There was no water for almost a a whole day. We had no working a/c or heat in the room. The beds were the worst beds I ever slept on. I know super 8 it’s not a fancy motel but I spent a lot of money in that room.

First keys were for room already occupied, with confusion as I am trying to enter their room. Second keys don't work for room. Third room finally unoccupied and keys work. Hallways smell nasty. It seems front desk attendants have their friends come and hang-out in lobby. Seen this on two separate stays. Strange characters out front.

The only reason i gave this anything but one stars is because the staff were very helpful and kind. Other than that, i have nothing nice to review. I will never stay here again. There were stains on EVERYTHING; towels, sheets, carpet, chairs. It felt like i was sleeping on straight up rusty metal springs, heard arguing all over the place, and the "breakfast" was just a pre-packaged danish thing with a small juice. Not worth any of the money we spent.

My stay at Super 8 Hotel was amazing, and the staff were very friendly. Ms. Kate was extremely kind and understanding when I inquired about information in reference to my stay. My room was clean and comfortable and I was able to accomplish some of my work goals because my room was also nice and quiet. There was a supermarket across the road and other stores close by, which made it easy for me to get around on foot. I would recommend Super 8 Hotel, on Route 211, to my family and friends because the price was reasonable and my stay was GREAT!

Ehhh it was a room and a bed no bugs and fairly clean. Don’t expect even an inclination of a smile from anyone at the front desk. But hey maybe they were just having a bad day, right…..

This is a dirty smelly and at times scary hotel... if it has been updated at any time it sure doesn't look like it. But i guess safe at times since police were were there often.

Close to a lot of stores and mall

The desk person on check in was fabulous. She really made a friend with my 10 yr old. She was super helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the shower curtain rod wasn't properly anchored. Had no effect on shower though. The 10 yr old loved the pattern on the bedspread.

I think the staff is all around awesome always with a smile and nice attitude. The hotel itself is good but Wyndham has to do some updating here especially for the housekeepers they deserve new things instead of out dated carts and items they use. Other than that the staff and hotel is all around awesome great location great prices I’ve stayed at high end hotels and I go to this one instead because of how friendly nice and kind the staff is always willingly to help and answer questions just wish Wyndham would take their time to update super 8 as it is a great hotel with awesome staff the staff deserve it would and have recommended this super 8 and it’s location and every time someone I’ve known stayed here they say the same thing it’s just outdated and needs to be updated especially for the staff and not one complaint sad to leave as I’m here for training but if I ever come back to Middletown ny I won’t stay at any other hotel but this one. It’s safe convenient location priced at a very decent price and the staff are always a joy to be around and helpful especially with not being from around here and they suggest what places to eat which is a plus love the staff all together please Wyndham do super 8 some justice and update it especially for the awesome housekeepers! They deserve it!

I paid for breakfast they had no breakfast. They gave me a muffin in a bag and that false advertising.

Only had a jail juice a tiny muffin and a small bag of goldfish in a btrown paper bag as breakfast

The place was overall pretty good. Our room was pretty much clean and everything was put together. One thing is that they advertise that they have a breakfast in the morning but they don’t so don’t expect anything when you wake up. There are some good diners in the area to make up for this at least.

It was nice but there was no breakfast

I booked on hotel.com a few months earlier but later it became cheaper on the hotel’s website. Breakfast was included but they gave us snacks (a muffin and juice). The request submitted on the hotel.com was not received by the hotel itself. So make sure everything before booking.
