The hotel was clean and the facilities were good. The hotel has a gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, indoor hot tub and outdoor hot tub. There are four EV chargers onsite, but two of them were out of order when we visited. It wasn't possible to access the EV chargers in the university area because access is gated off. One issue was that the hotel tried to make us pay £12 per day for parking because we'd booked through Expedia and not directly with them. It didn't state this in our email booking, so they took it off our bill.

Stayed one night on a business trip. Overall okay, but for £200+ a night I expected more. The hotel feels outdated and is probably more suited to the older generation. Excellent value for money when you consider that the pool, steam, sauna, jacuzzi (indoor and outdoor) plus all the items you would expect in a room are all included in the cost. Excellent location for coast and Lake District.

Would definitely visit again! We had a free room upgrade and it was a significant improvement on the room we had anticipated - thank you very much! The room looked a little tired and so were some of the corridor/stair areas too. Our wasn't perfectly clean - the windows, mirrors and a large crisp was fairly obvious but overall, it was good. The sound deadening was notably good even with a wedding party in progress. We had a meal in the Sandeman restaurant with our daughter and friend. We all enjoyed our meal, excellent service too. The leisure facility as previously, was excellent. Really enjoyed it. Again as previously, the staff were excellent, warm, welcoming and helpful. Mr Srees served us twice on reception, top marks!! Ok, needs some maintenance and a little extra attention to cleaning but overall, a lovely hotel. The entrance and reception area is particularly enchanting. Hope to visit again in the coming year.

The room was clean, modern & spacious. The staff were helpful & friendly. The breakfast was good. The only thing I’d have liked is a bit more water pressure from the shower. Everything else was spot on.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and all of the public areas and facilities were reasonably well maintained. Our room was comfortable, the bedding and towels were of a good quality. The bathroom needed some attention however to bring it up to date. There were dirty finger marks on the door which had definitely been there for some time as they were quite ingrained . I don't think that I have seen shower curtains used in hotels for some considerable time..... Dinner in the restaurant on our first night was ok but having been asked on arrival about allergies/intolerences and again on entry to the restaurant it was annoying to find that any choice was limited in fact only the soup was dairy free on the starters and the main course only some fish, unless I wanted sorbet there was nothing appropriate for dessert. Breakfast was good and well presented however the lack of Muesli surprised me. We travel for business and leisure several times per year and therefore use Hotels.com for ease and quality. I don't remember us being charged for, on site hotel parking as a separate charge because we hadn't booked via the group or hotel direct ever before......Fortunately we could afford to pay but some were shocked and out of pocket due to this.

Had a lovely stay, expecially how dog friendly the hotel was. The hotel was beautiful however i was slightly disappointed with to room, there was mold on the windows, cracks in the tiles in the bathroom. Over all i felt my room was dated. However would not prevent me from returning

The staff and food were both very good. The accommodation seemed a bit tired and the walls were very thin. You could clearly hear people in the next door room talking and unfortunately their conversation went on all night!!!

no instructions how to put the heating. crack in bathroom ceiling and a couple of the floor tiles cracked. the shower head not really any use - i am only 5ft 2ins and had to stand right at the back of the bath to at least get part of my hair wet to use shampoo. no bath mat and nearly slipped.

Nice property close to the university. Regular buses into town make it convenient. Expected more for the price - small things in room did not work; light above bed, TV remote needed new batteries, no tissues (box empty), tiny towels, very old fashioned shower / lack of towel rails. Oh and the £12 charge for parking seemed steep given paid for a room.

I booked a twin double but this was not available when I got here - they insisted it was the booking app’s fault that didn’t tell them it should be a twin- we were put into a students apartment which was big but not that nice and had to share a bed. They rectified the issue on the second night but made me feel like it was my fault for not checking with the hotel before arrival. Breakfast was not available when we wanted it and generally I feel that I have had better stays in a premier inn. This does not feel like 4 star service at all. Nice pool.

Lovely hotel. We had a room upgrade as it was a birthday which was great. Customer service when we arrived on reception was not great. There was no enthusiasm to see us or smiles from the man. I think he was new as unsure in himself. But even so he could be more welcoming

Would definitely visit again! We had a free room upgrade and it was a significant improvement on the room we had anticipated - thank you very much! The room looked a little tired and so were some of the corridor/stair areas too. Our wasn't perfectly clean - the windows, mirrors and a large crisp was fairly obvious but overall, it was good. The sound deadening was notably good even with a wedding party in progress. We had a meal in the Sandeman restaurant with our daughter and friend. We all enjoyed our meal, excellent service too. The leisure facility as previously, was excellent. Really enjoyed it. Again as previously, the staff were excellent, warm, welcoming and helpful. Mr Srees served us twice on reception, top marks!! Stayed one night on a business trip. Overall okay, but for £200+ a night I expected more. The hotel feels outdated and is probably more suited to the older generation. Food was overpriced and disappointing, £70 for four small plates with chicken, sausages and cauliflower steak tasting off. Service was quite slow due to staff shortages. The room had stains on the carpet, a patio door letting in water, and faulty doors that felt like they could come off the hinges at any point. Pillows sank in the middle but puffed up at the sides, leaving me with a sore neck. Positives were the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and the cosy fire in reception. Fine for a quick trip, but I’d eat in Lancaster town instead. Would recommend a decor update.

Appalling booking out procedure. Attempted to charge me twice for breakfast plus automatic charge for plant a tree and would not have charged me the car parking fee if i booked direct - told it was in the small print. Very rude money grabbing hotel with staff attitude of "Nothing to do with us"

The hotel has a very homely feel; warm and inviting. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The only negative is the location outside of town, so you pretty much need a car to get around. Otherwise I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Hotel is very nice in a good location. Staff were all excellent (young Katherine in the restaurant was brilliant!) Breakfast was really good. Food in the restaurant was lovely too. Don’t like having to pay (£12.00) to park in the hotels own car park, if I’d noticed this when booking I would have booked elsewhere. Also there was only one bath towel and one hand towel for the two of us……. Otherwise it was good..

Great location. Couldn't connect to Internet, followed instructions eg room number 0?? . Staff member came to room to check. Apparently wrong information was given to us. Hope they change the paper slip on which we followed.

It was very nice, cool interior, staff was very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean. There was construction in the room next to me so that was a bit loud at times but not a big deal. Not easily accessible on foot.

A lovely hotel with great facilities and excellent location next to the University and stones throw from the City of Lancaster. What stood out for us was the staff. The customer service was of the highest quality and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We highly recommend this high quality hotel.

Excellent value for money when you consider that the pool, steam, sauna, jacuzzi (indoor and outdoor) plus all the items you would expect in a room are all included in the cost. Excellent location for coast and Lake District.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and all of the public areas and facilities were reasonably well maintained. Our room was comfortable, the bedding and towels were of a good quality. The bathroom needed some attention however to bring it up to date. There were dirty finger marks on the door which had definitely been there for some time as they were quite ingrained . I don't think that I have seen shower curtains used in hotels for some considerable time..... Dinner in the restaurant on our first night was ok but having been asked on arrival about allergies/intolerences and again on entry to the restaurant it was annoying to find that any choice was limited in fact only the soup was dairy free on the starters and the main course only some fish, unless I wanted sorbet there was nothing appropriate for dessert. Breakfast was good and well presented however the lack of Muesli surprised me. We travel for business and leisure several times per year and therefore use Hotels.com for ease and quality. I don't remember us being charged for, on site hotel parking as a separate charge because we hadn't booked via the group or hotel direct ever before......Fortunately we could afford to pay but some were shocked and out of pocket due to this.

Staff were very friendly. Leisure club was very nice with the outdoor jacuzzi and all included in the room price. Breakfast was part buffet and hot food on order - food was fresh and good quality. Lancaster House is a fantastic place for a stop off heading down the motorway. The staff were able to accommodate us even although there was a large group being welcomed. Our room was first class with much appreciated air conditioning on a sweltering day. Our meal was excellent and staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs within a very nice environment.
