Staff is helpful, but very rude at the same time. Lot of attitude among most. Seems like they are not use to many tourist around. Heard the same complaint from other guests. Only parking to download your bags is the worst of the 4 they have, a is very tough to park.

This centrally located hotel is superb. It’s old world charm with comfy beds and modern bathrooms. Breakfast is included and is cooked to order and was delicious. We also had an evening meal in the dining room and that too was excellent. The menu is very varied and definitely offers something for everyone. Would definitely recommend and will certainly stay again.

However, the mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, and the dated bathrooms/ rooms are a little sad considering the caliber of the place generally.

Everything was made very easy, staff were friendly and very helpful - I couldn't carry bags easily but they took them up for me. A flask of fresh milk in the room was brilliant, real coffee-making (pod) facility, coffee bags (decaf and normal), good tea - all lovely. Clean, comfortable, great breakfast. Nothing at all could be faulted.

Great spot to stay in Lancaster and have stayed twice in the last four week. The evening meals are excellent as is the evening service. the food at breakfast is also great but the service at breakfast time on both occasions as been a bit slow and not really attentive

This hotel is simply perfect. The rooms were clean and well-apportioned. They contained everything travelers would need. The breakfast was exceptional and the dinner menus delicious. The location is great for getting about and no noise at night. Absolutely recommend.

This centrally located hotel is superb. It’s old world charm with comfy beds and modern bathrooms. Breakfast is included and is cooked to order and was delicious. We also had an evening meal in the dining room and that too was excellent. The menu is very varied and definitely offers something for everyone. Would definitely recommend and will certainly stay again.

Very attentive staff and the restaurant is top notch. Quite expensive drinks, but no more than any central hotel of this quality. Bed very comfortable and rooms clean. However, the mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, and the dated bathrooms/ rooms are a little sad considering the caliber of the place generally.

Was lovely and welcoming! Reserved parking and quick check in. Booked a table for evening meal which was delicious. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast! Was a great overnight stay definitely revisit

Great spot to stay in Lancaster and have stayed twice in the last four week. The evening meals are excellent as is the evening service. the food at breakfast is also great but the service at breakfast time on both occasions as been a bit slow and not really attentive

This is a beautiful period property with lots of original or sensitively restored features, and is in a great central location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food at our evening meal and included breakfast were very tasty with a good amount of choice. My reason for knocking down to 4 stars was the overall attention to detail that was lacking in the room. Certain areas were dusty, the bed was hard and uncomfortable and it was all in need of a general spruce up. Paintwork was looking tired, scuffed and peeling in places and the bathroom needed a more thorough clean in the nooks and crannies! Having said that towels and sheets were exceptionally clean and soft and the provided toiletries, little box of chocolates, coffees, etc. were a nice touch and of good quality. I was slightly disappointed on arrival, as it wasn’t a particularly cheap stay. Just need the rooms redecorated and more thoroughly cleaned to be 5 star!

We arrived early by train and dropped our bag off at the hotel,the staff were very obliging. We had checked in on line the day before so it was just a case of picking our key up. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and was well stocked with tea and coffee, good quality soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There was the added bonus of air conditioning which saw a lot of use as the temperature was in the 30s. We dined in the hotel that night and the food was excellent. A very good selection of food at breakfast in the morning.
