The kids really enjoyed the pool and states it could use a good cleaning.?The atmosphere was really good.

Please make it now that you are electric vehicle chargers are not free. In fact, they are quite expensive, more expensive than tesla Supercharging which is 10x better anyway. $0.40/kwh is absurd. More expensive than gasoline. Also the pool was closed. Need to warn people.

Checked in at 3pm. Checked out at 6pm. Was told pool was open. But then told it had been closed all day from next staff member after they had a laugh about it. Rooms are dingy and the soaps was empty.

It was a little run down. Rhe laundry room costs $3.25 to used the washer and another $3.25 to use the dryer. Very expensive to clean 1 load of clothes.

Power went out. Not a big deal but no backup generator. So rooms were just far when sun went down. Hallways dark. Free breakfast had to be skipped . From all of this no discount no let’s bring in coffee and bagels for these folks just meh. Could have been an OK experience if power never went out but they put the problem all on the customer.

The breakfast was good, the indoor pool was nice and even had towels, which i didn't expect. It felt and smelled clean, but i booked through hotels.com and my credit card was charged by both then and the hotel, so i had to wait a week for a refund from the hotel. The kicker? The hotel was only $65 while hotels.com was $155

The staff was polite and professional. The location is very close to tmajor highway, which makes it appealing to travelers. The property exterior, both the building and pavement outside the lobby need to be cleaned and refreshed. The elevator is frightening. The floor buttons are worn, the elevator door is creaky and slowly closes and then jerks closed. There is no elevator inspection notice or any holder to display the inspection report. I think it's a requirement to have elevators inspected and report displayed. There is an unclean odor in the bedroom corridors. Although the overall bedroom and bath appeared to be clean the bathroom shower had stains in the corners and on the floor. There is a separaton between the frame of the access door to the room and the door,causing the hallway lighting to shine directly into the room. Sidebar: As I was waiting for the clerk to finish my reservation process I noticed an annoucement notice on the counter. Parapharse: "Due to recent circumstances locals will be required to pay a $300.00 deposit refundable once your have checked out and your room has been inspected prior to leaving." Rather an unnerving statement. I did consider leaving. However, I had just driven 11 hours and very tired. I am a busines strategy coach by profession. If you were my client I would suggest you close the hotel, refresh it from foundation to roof and exterior to make it more appealing and then have a major marketing campaign.

Easy access to Claytor lake state park and highway 81. Staff was great especially Stephanie at the front desk. Only thing needed was their pool needs an upgrade. All else was excellent.

The building is fairly new so everything is up to date. Every area especially our room was very clean. The bed was over the top comfortable. I have a bad back and normally hotel beds kill me. The shower is large enough if your spouse wanted to join there wouldn't be any issues. Food was not a continental breakfast. Pastries and waffles didn't cut it. Got breakfast out. But like I said everything else was 5 stars

Room and bathroom were very clean

The floor in the first room was dirty everywhere….crumbs….yuck. The shower had hairs in it. They gave us another room and it was much better. I have a little one so I wasted half a pack of wet wipes doing my own mopping. I didn’t want him crawling around in crud. There were no crumbs but the wipes were so black it was clear they just sweep the room and not mop it. The wash rags and towels are also stained….they need help getting some of these things worked out.

The bathroom floor was not cleaned at all; there were hairs and dust everywhere. Additionally, the toilet was clogged from the moment we arrived, and the receptionist provided us with a plunger to fix it. None of the staff members apologized for these issues. While the hotel has been renovated, it is poorly maintained. The beds are comfortable I must add wich is a plus.

Great, friendly staff and room was clean

There was a wash cloth left hanging on the shower bar from the previous guest. The floor under the sleeper sofa looks as if it wasn't cleaned in a while. There was no coffee pot or alarm clock. It felt a bit forgotten. Not horrible, but less than expected based on the reviews.

The room seemed so sparse. No lounge chair and no drawers to put clothes in. No pictures on the wall. The room just seemed empty. The bed was very hard and I used my pillow because I did not like the ones on the bed. The breakfast was not that good. The biscuits were cold and hard. The silver dollar size sausage were terrible. The link sausage was okay. The eggs were only out on the last day and were very runny. I was disappointed as this is a Wyndham.

The room seemed clean but only offered an office chair. The room had a huge amount of empty space with no chair of sofa.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Pull out couch was in great condition.

The air conditioner in our room did not work. We told the front desk it didn’t work. I sent a young man up to check on it. He said he would talk to his boss and get us a new room. We waited for a couple hours we were on a tight schedule so we had to leave and told them that right now it’s OK even though it was only blowing in cool air. It was very hot and humid. That was that was Saturday- we came back that evening and it was worse, but we opened out the door to the hallway and let the cool air come in from the hallway. Very humid and very uncomfortable on Sunday since it was raining out we thought it would be better and I had a fan we went in the room. It was worse than the day before. It was blowing out warm air, and we had to open the door get my fan and have it blow in the cool air. I really would like my money back or a credit for this place. I won’t use them again.

The hotel was clean and spacious. We had a very comfortable stay.

New renovated room, very confortable

Don’t stay here! Our concerns to the hotel in the form of a response to their text from them on the first night went ignored. This hotel was represented to be renovated and our room was somewhat but there was a large soft spot in the bathroom floor (room 305), the bathroom fan was quite loud (it comes on with the light), the room was spacious but there were no chairs other than a flimsy desk chair, no clock, and no wall decorations (sound echoed in the room). At their weekend price point this was a huge disappointment! Admittedly the tv and bed were nice and the room was clean. Having stayed in many hotels in the past, this falls way short of the Holiday Inn Express and Drury Inn standards I have become accustomed to.

Room smelled like cigarettes and shades were broken street light kept us up. TV did not work. Bugs on hall wall and ceiling. Pool was green and breakfast was not appetizing. The morning staff at front desk was friendly.

The receptionist threatened to charge me for items I didn’t steal (in front of two other guests)—she wanted to charge me high rates for dirty towels that had been removed by housekeeping staff. I asked for extra washcloths, but I simply wasn’t allowed to have them. I didn’t enjoy my stay because I was focused on how much they were planning to shake me down. What a terrible vacation for the holiday.

Check in was quick and easy. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast! Enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend it to others. Thanks for awesome hospitality!

When checking into the hotel could not find our reservation, then after about 15 minutes, they found it and the room choice we selected and pre-paid for was not available. If we wanted the type of bed we paid for, would have to pay an additional cost. Then we were put on a floor where there is no ice machine. Regardless if this was Expedia or the Hotel's issue, we should have been comped for the room type we selected. Not a happy camper!!

Night staff was wonderful when I arrived. Day staff was absent and rude when they finally showed up. I had late checkout and I received a threatening call from the morning staff telling me to get out or be charged. I was shocked. I've never been treated so poorly in a hotel.

Check in was a breeze and the front desk clerk was awesome! He made sure we had everything we needed and he even remembered my name at breakfast the next morning. Very personable and friendly.

The front staff Rick & Stephanie were friendly, accomodating and always attentive to the our needs. This was our 2nd stay in this location. Will be back again.

It took two hours to check in. Not an exaggeration. Stood in line for 2 hours to get checked in and WE WERE GIVEN KEYS TO ANOTHER FAMILYS ROOM. When it was brought to the front desks attention she laughed about it! It was not funny at all!! My kids could have walked in and seen things they definitely shouldn’t have and it wouldn’t have been anyone’s fault except the front desk clerk! Upon finally getting keys to our room the sink was clogged and it took over 24 hours for someone to come and fix it! The beds were hard as rock and the breakfast was disgusting. We tried to find somewhere else to stay but short notice and $450 invested into this hotel it wasn’t a viable solution. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel! STAY AWAY!!!

I like that it has recycling bins in the rooms. It is so close to Claytor Lake but there is not a lot of room for parking with a boat on a trailer. There is also no way to charge your boat batteries with an outdoor outlet. There is a couple electric car chargers but that doesn’t work for the boat. The check in person was nice. The first morning we were getting our breakfast a lady working there didn’t ask how we were or good morning. She asked if we were registered guests. It was upsetting and insulting and quite rude. My iusband and I just let it slide but were upset and tried to forget about it. The next morning the same hotel worker saw us coming in the front door and asked to see our key card for our room. I agreed and quickly showed her. I have never been asked to show my key card at a hotel in my entire life. We were treated disrespectfully and rude and it was very insulting. We don’t even stay for the free breakfast today. It was as if we were just two people off the street trying to get a free meal or something. I laid down my key cards and we left. We won’t be back. She wanted to explain herself when we left but I told her there is nothing to say. We should have been respected and treated well due to being paying customers. There was also no regular coffee the first morning available either. So disappointed!

It was clean, quiet and comfortable. There are few to zero places to eat around it. But very convenient to Interstate 81.

Good location, just off I-81 Exit 100. Currently being renovated and the potential to be much better on the next visit. Good free breakfast ! Best rates for New River Valley most times.

Was good, the room was clean, enought soap. The breakfast was basic. No choices. And the coffee was Cold in the evening and nobody at réception.

Clean room and attentive staff. Nice facility that must be especially pleasant in warm weather. Surprisingly good breakfast. But…a $50.00 pet fee was charged that wasn’t revealed in any of the registration. Steep for our small dog, and might well have stayed elsewhere if had known. Felt like a scam, which sullied an otherwise pleasant stay.

Front desk was great. The lobby was clean, staff was friendly. Requested a handicap assemble room. The room was large with plenty of room however the closet didnt have a place to hang longer clothes. Mybonly complaint would be the cold watered down coffee. It was cold at breakfast it was cold in the afternoon and cold at night. I finally decided to go to dunkin.

No shampoo, Conditioner or lotion. Pillows very small and uncomfortable. Towels have stains. Very poor breakfast. Many guests were waiting for coffee for almost 40 minutes. Coffee was watered and very few option for breakfast. Staff for check in were very nice and in the morning after the staff were no helpful. However, Price was convenient for 2 rooms. It’s an option for a one night stay.
