Security concern -- a side entrance door was unsecured with a bag in the door latch. I notified the manager; he said he was aware but didn't seem too concerned about it and didn't rectify it. Otherwise, easy access, good parking. Staff was somewhat friendly and sort of helpful....I had requested rooms next to each other and they gave us rooms down the hall from each other. he did move us. the place is definitely in need of a major overhaul, from paint and carpet to furniture and appliances. everything is shabby and old, but at least it was semi dirty and moldy. The mattresses are from the 90s, i would say--the most uncomfortable i've slept on in a long time. Don't waste your time on the breakfast, head out to Dunkin Donuts. Pros-- the pool is very nice. Basically it's a cheap hotel. Don't set your expectations very high, and you won't be disappointed.

Outside looked very dated. Inside was very clean. Everything was functional. Room was very clean bed was comfortable and quiet. Pool was clean and warm.

The bedding was excellent and the pool was spotless! Also, the mattress was very comfortable. The only downside was that the carpeting in the room was filthy. My feet and socks would be brown after walking across the floor. The staff was working very hard there, so hopefully the carpeting will be cleaned soon.

It was my first time staying there this weekend and it was calm and peaceful. The pool and room was amazing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the parking was good too. I just wish I could have went to the gym but due to remodeling it wasn’t open which was understandable! I’ll definitely be going back to stay.

The tv we had in our room kept glitching in and out. One minute the volume was okay and then it was lower for no reason. Then the pool didn’t open until 3 pm the next day. It was suppose to open up at 9 am.

We arrived at night, and there was no signage where the lobby was located. There were people hanging around in the parking lot watching those pulling in that made us feel very uncomfortable.

They are updating rooms and property now! Staff including housekeeping is fast kind and efficient! Pool is warm and clean! The breakfast was as good as any…. Sausage, eggs, gravy and biscuits, waffles, cereal, white/wheat bread, bagels, muffins juice and milk! We’d stay again! Great nightly rate!

The rooms were very dirty. Hair in the sink and tub. The bedding had stains all over it. Not just a few spots. Dead hornets in the bathroom. It had obviously not been deep cleaned in a while.

Friendly staff, but our room was dirty. Tub had red stains and hair in it, bathroom mirror filthy, bathroom counter dirty, window in room covered in filth, floor had things all over it, fridge had food on bottom shelf. Check in was good, very friendly young lady. There’s a breakfast offered in the morning, but I checked out within a few minutes of getting into the room. The bedding was clean and the beds were made.

Extremely dirty - mold in shower and stains and bad smell throughout the room. The first non smoking room we were given reeked of smoke - they changed our room so that was slightly better but it was still very dirty. They also said there was breakfast until 9am but when we arrived for breakfast at 8:30 there was no food

The hotel was very clean and the staff were absolutely amazing. The smell was not so good. It smelled of stale cigarettes and marijuana. The room was super clean and the wifi was great. The pool was super clean and very well maintained. Not a lot of outlets but if you bring an extension cord it is doable.

Room was dirty it looks clean on the service but the carpets are dirty and you can feel it when you walk on it the same st the floor in the bathroom. The bath looks like it has never been washed. You can see there was a non slip mat in the bath at one stage and it is as if was never removed to be washed after guests. The wall around the bath also dirty. Overall won’t recommend to anyone.

The people working at the hotel were eonderful, but that did not hide the obvious faults of this hotel. First, the good: When I checked in, the young lady at the desk noticed I was using a cane be ause of having back surgery 5 weeks ago, and she proceeded to change our room to one with a walk-in shower. Such kindness! Also, the breakfast was good, with a wide variety of food and drinks. Now, the bad: It was impossible for me to get comfortable in the bed. The mattress was hard and lumpy not only for me, but for my wife and daughter. Also, there was a very putrid smell on our hallway for the entire night. Finally, the shower was cold and there was very little water pressure. Overall, it was meh. I am unlikely to stay there again.

No issues with front desk staff, they were friendly and capable. Outside looked run down, not sure if renovating or not. Room door was difficult to get into, looked like it was broken. Carpet in hallways old and had paint splatter all over from bad paint job on walls. Popping noise all night, not sure if it was refrigerator or not. I should have unplugged it. Room itself was reasonably clean.

The hotel's exterior areas show wear and tear. In my room, the desk lamp didn't work and the TV had sound but no picture. Electrical outlets were limited. I couldn't figure out how to adjust the fan speed so that it didn't periodically turn on and off. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and it was mostly very quiet. It was good enough for my work trip.

Cheap place to crash for the night, if you're looking for five stars, this is definitely not it. The facility looks as if it has never been updated, everything is very worn, but it was cheap and the room was clean.

This is a budget hotel so don’t expect the Ritz but new owners are cleaning it up and doing a good job. The linens and mattress were all brand new and very comfortable. New vanity tops and shower walls in bathrooms. All halls and walls freshly painted. Basic free breakfast had sausage and gravy biscuits. They have a few more rooms to finish and I wish them success.

So when we arrived the person behind the desk told us there was no room available, even though we booked this room online and paid for it days in advance. When I asked how this was possible they blamed it on the fact that I purchased the room using a third party, and when I asked for a refund they firmly told me that there was no way for me to get one from them. Only after waiting for half an hour and insisting several times that we needed a room (every other hotel in town was fully booked for this weekend) did they say they could "see if [they] could give us one of the \'dirty\' rooms." They searched for one, said there wasn\'t one, then another employee came through and found one for us, claiming they had quickly cleaned up a dirty room in the time it would take to walk up and down a flight of stairs. The overall state of this hotel was pretty dismal. The bed sheets were discolored, the floors were incredibly creaky and covered in stains. The guy behind the desk was eating fast food the whole time I spoke with him, and he seemed to be about to fall asleep standing up.

Very clean and quite room. The staff was very polite and helpful with directions. I was a little disappointed in the parking at night, i am handicap and had to park in the alternate lot, but hotel was full and couldn't be helped.

The hotel was up on a hill away from most everything. It was an isolated location and other buildings on the lot were abandoned. Our room was only reasonably clean but the bathroom could have been cleaner. It was quiet and we were able to sleep comfortably.

It’s ok for a hotel. A few questionable people outside. The receptionist was very friendly and sweet. The pool is nice. The room was ok. Beds are comfy enough. You do have to drive about 10 min to get to any considerable amount of shopping and dining. A few places close by. Ok for a road trip pit stop for the night. Maybe. I’d probably pick a different place next time.

The free breakfast--the 1st morning we couldn't find any plates, the 2nd morning there wasn't any eggs left and there was a female worker walking around talking on her cell and as we walked out I over heard her say that she had to take the egg pan out or it keep burning. So we went to Tudor's for breakfast. This morning we decided not to eat there.

The room and public area in the hotel, are really need TLC. The hotel room door was damaged, and the lock is broken. An air conditioning unit is really loud. The breakfast foods were not good. Only waffles tasted ok. The beds and bathroom were clean.

Hotel is currently being renovated and it shows around the property. The room was spacious and was good for what we needed but the breakfast was less than expected. The “hot” breakfast was some anemic sausage, thick gravy for dry biscuits, and “hash brown potatoes” that were not crispy at all and more like mashed potatoes in ribbons. Also no fruit or packaged yogurt to be found anywhere. They do have one waffle maker but be sure to get there early or you’ll be waiting in a long line. Overall it was good for the price we paid and it was close to New River Gorge National Park, but probably would pay a little more in the future and stay somewhere else.

The hotel itself is nice if a little dated (not something I care about but I know others do.) We checked in late last night and the maintenance guy ended up helping us get checked into the system. He was awesome. The lady who checked us out in the morning was very friendly (while also running breakfast at the same time.) Breakfast itself was very subpar, but if you like waffles you should be good to go!!
