We love the Gold Miners Inn! Dog-friendly; clean, comfortable room; nice lobby lounge with complimentary happy hour and hot breakfast buffet. Convenient location easily walkable to downtown Grass Valley restaurants and shopping. Friendly, helpful staff. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back.

This hotel is conveniently located to the hwy, downtown, and is safely walkable. I grew up in Grass Valley and was visiting family; I chose this hotel because it’s the perfect place to stay if you want a nice, practical, safe, clean place to stay. The parking is free and easy, check in was fast and the staff is welcoming, they offer coffee and breakfast in the early morning, the room is even set up in an efficient and useful manner. Shower had nice pressure, bed and linens were comfortable, and it was quiet despite being close to hwy. It’s older just like everything in town but it’s clean and feels cozy and nice. I’d stay again and recommend.

From check in to check out everything and everyone was very clean and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was great along with the 5p-7p drink time they offered in the lobby. I would definitely book here again.

I've stay at this location a couple of times now, rooms are clean, staff is friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast is pretty good. They always serve scramble eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage. Parking feels safe. I would highly recommend staying here. Frequent Traveler.

This is the second time I stay at the Gold Miners Inn. The first time was about 4 years ago and I had a great experience. I didn’t expect it to look the same 4 years later. A lot of hotels deteriorate throughout the years but you can tell this one is taken care of. It’s one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at and I’ve stayed at A LOT. The staff is friendly, there’s easy parking, and it’s quiet. Loved it.

The room was a great size for my husband, toddler, and me. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the breakfast was hearty and tasty, the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location - we could easily walk to several restaurants and coffee shops, and it was just a short drive to local sites (and Target). We’d absolutely stay again. Overall a terrific value!

TEN STARS!!! First of all, I rated them not very well BUT it was the wrong hotel! From the reception desk to the parking lot we couldn’t have been more delighted! Liza and the front desk manager were absolutely delightful. This hotel is nicer than many more expensive places we’ve stayed. The evening free happy hour will leave you feeling cared for. Breakfast? What are you hungry for…..I’m sure it’s there. Best scrambled eggs! The rooms are very clean, quiet, updated and comfortable. The lobby is just beautiful. They have a little, ‘corner store’ in case you need something to snack on, drink or anything you might have forgotten. They’re dog friendly and it won’t break the bank. We planned on staying one night but after feeling so cared for we extended for another night.

We stayed 2 nights. The room was very clean and well appointed. The staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good, we enjoyed the variety, and appreciated the healthy options. The only thing that wasn’t so great were the beds—while the bedding was clean and comfortable, the mattress was very firm. Too firm. It felt like we were sleeping on the floor and made it difficult to get a good sleep. It’s unfortunate because other than that, we were happy with our stay.

Last time we stayed in a king suite, we had a tv in the couch area and one in bedroom area. We only had one tv and it was very small and it did not have an arm to turn it to sit on the couch to watch tv. Since we were staying to get away and relax it was a little disappointing to upgrade to a suite and not be able to use it all. Couldnt sit at couch to watch tv. we have stayed three different times and have been comfortable, just could use a little uograde in this room.

Hotel room was clean and good size. Parking lot was large and easy to navigate. Staff were friendly. They give you drink tickets for 2 free happy hour drinks, which is nice, and there's a full hot breakfast. Hotel has some cute historic decorative touches related to mining. Dinging by a star because 1) it was a little noisy. We could hear neighbors all around us - TV next door, things getting dropped upstairs. We tried to use the AC to drown out sound, but it was itself really loud. Eventually we turned it off and then we were awakened at 3am by construction across the parking lot that was pretty dang loud. Also 2) the dog policy/fee is unclear. The FAQ says that having a dog adds a $65/week fee, and I incorrectly assumed that it would be prorated nightly. The policy is actually that it's $65 for any stay 1-7 nights. So, if you are staying multiple nights with a dog, that's a great deal. But if you're staying only one night with a dog, that's a pretty hefty add on. Front desk was friendly about it and it's great to have a dog friendly property, so not the end of the world, but just wanted to flag for other travelers and/or maybe update the FAQ.

First time in Grass Valley and the Gold Miner's Inn was a very nice hotel with friendly staff, very clean rooms, great breakfast variety and loved the free coffee / hot water in the lobby. The mattress was a little too firm for my taste but I slept well both nights we were there.

Positive: The front desk staff and housekeepers were fantastic doing everything they could to meet our needs. Mixed: the breakfast buffet was quite tasty. One negative was it was only stocked once, so if the early diners ate all the yogurt or fresh fruit, later diners missed out. Poor: communication. The website listed a laundry as a feature and we chose this property based on that, but it is inaccurate. No laundry. Also they told us the front counter that we could come each evening to get 4 drink coupons to be used at the evening reception. Since we were going out one evening and driving, we decided to use only two one evening and then use the remaining six the following evening when we were not driving. We went the bartender to get our third glass of wine, placing a tip in the jar and giving him the tickets. He took the tickets and told us we had already had two drinks. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Date the tickets or post a sign, etc., although not sure why they care if we use them equally everyday. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable, but soundproofing between rooms was not up to the boisterous guests and the shower strangely could not be regulated for pressure.
Positive: The front desk staff and housekeepers were fantastic doing everything they could to meet our needs. Mixed: the breakfast buffet was quite tasty. One negative was it was only stocked once, so if the early diners ate all the yogurt or fresh fruit, later diners missed out. Poor: communication. The website listed a laundry as a feature and we chose this property based on that, but it is inaccurate. No laundry. Also they told us the front counter that we could come each evening to get 4 drink coupons to be used at the evening reception. Since we were going out one evening and driving, we decided to use only two one evening and then use the remaining six the following evening when we were not driving. We went the bartender to get our third glass of wine, placing a tip in the jar and giving him the tickets. He took the tickets and told us we had already had two drinks. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Date the tickets or post a sign, etc., although not sure why they care if we use them equally everyday. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable, but soundproofing between rooms was not up to the boisterous guests and the shower strangely could not be regulated for pressure.

This is the second time I stay at the Gold Miners Inn. The first time was about 4 years ago and I had a great experience. I didn’t expect it to look the same 4 years later. A lot of hotels deteriorate throughout the years but you can tell this one is taken care of. It’s one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at and I’ve stayed at A LOT. The staff is friendly, there’s easy parking, and it’s quiet. Loved it.

The room was a great size for my husband, toddler, and me. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the breakfast was hearty and tasty, the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location - we could easily walk to several restaurants and coffee shops, and it was just a short drive to local sites (and Target). We’d absolutely stay again. Overall a terrific value!

TEN STARS!!! First of all, I rated them not very well BUT it was the wrong hotel! From the reception desk to the parking lot we couldn’t have been more delighted! Liza and the front desk manager were absolutely delightful. This hotel is nicer than many more expensive places we’ve stayed. The evening free happy hour will leave you feeling cared for. Breakfast? What are you hungry for…..I’m sure it’s there. Best scrambled eggs! The rooms are very clean, quiet, updated and comfortable. The lobby is just beautiful. They have a little, ‘corner store’ in case you need something to snack on, drink or anything you might have forgotten. They’re dog friendly and it won’t break the bank. We planned on staying one night but after feeling so cared for we extended for another night.

I grew up in Grass Valley and was visiting family; I chose this hotel because it’s the perfect place to stay if you want a nice, practical, safe, clean place to stay. The parking is free and easy, check in was fast and the staff is welcoming, they offer coffee and breakfast in the early morning, the room is even set up in an efficient and useful manner. Shower had nice pressure, bed and linens were comfortable, and it was quiet despite being close to hwy. It’s older just like everything in town but it’s clean and feels cozy and nice. I’d stay again and recommend.

Easy on/off freeway access. Comfortable rooms. Excellent mattress. Friendly staff. Free parking. Excellent buffet breakfast. My ONLY disappointment was that the oatmeal was always gone if you didn't get down to breakfast within the first hour (this happened 4 days in a row).The gal was "happy to make more, but it will take 25 min." Why not just have another batch ready to go ? Like you had with the eggs and other dishes? Other than that, our 4 day stay was very pleasant.

We had a very nice stay. We love the gold country, and this was a good spot for exploring the area. Our room was very nice, fine shower, fine bed, fridge, k-cup for coffee, microwave, glass tumblers (plus plastics if you prefer), and ceramic mugs (plus take-out style cardboard, if you like). Breakfast is okay, no more than that, but the evening "reception" is a nice touch, very welcome. Only two quibbles, really, and one is personal. The breakfast ended at 9:00, earlier than we like. We skipped it the second morning. Also, the tv got a beautiful picture, with plenty of channels, but a premium channel or two wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately, there is no way to know what's on, as the cable/satellite provider doesn't include a programming guide. Not the hotel's doing, but still frustrating. We had a suite, so plenty of room, good for our board games. We would happily stay here again.

I have traveled all over the world and country and this was by far one, if not the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Attention to detail was perfect. The two cocktails per day were a hit. The staff was very friendly. The location is prime and so close to everything. Also we went to Bridgepoint and the distance from the hotel was about 25 minutes and easy and scenic drive. Breakfast was okay, we did not enjoy it, but hey it was free.
