Harborline Hotel

CAUTION Undergoing reburshment. Check your room before signing in. Our room had just been finished so it was OK but missing phone, hair drier, etc. There may be a person at the desk or not. It looks like they are setting up for a kiosk check-in which, in my experience, really sucks and you should choose another place to stay. The room seemed small with very few available outlets.

We did not get a water view which was sad, but could see it from the streed and the restaurant across from the hotel which had a deck and great food. There was no pool. Disappointed about that.

The property was under construction. No elevator. Had a view of construction equipment. Extremely limited services. Expedia gave no forewarning that the original hotel we'd booked had split into 2. Nor did Expedia give any forewarning that we were being moved into the under construction hotel rather than what we had originally booked.

Initially, GPS got me there, but signage was a banner at ground level near front entrance. Checkin was a bad experience. Elevator was out and we were given a third floor room at the be try back, room 350. My mother has a very difficult time with stairs. There was no offer for assistance or move rooms. The young man who checked us in can best be described as unhelpful and uncaring. I carried luggage up and down three flights of stairs dodging construction crews and equipment. Construction and cleaning were occurring on our floor. Blocked hallways, equipment in floor, and had to step around workers. Our balcony looked over a parking lot of piled up construction supplies and a dumpster. There was no notification on the website before purchase that a remodel was in progress. This was the worst experience I ever had in years of travel. I would not stay here. Future travelers be warned. Better planning of work crews and assistance with luggage up the stairs would have been appreciated.

Apparently the hotel is under renovations of some sort. The parking is limited and the lot in poor shape. The floor in the room was very dirty, no coffee maker, and we were next to the laundry room which could be heard all night. The room looks very much like a cruise ship cabin, including size. It is near the harbor which can be seen from the parking area.

Pool was closed

Property was just okay. The elevator was out of order. There was dumping beside the building right outside our slider. There was supposed to be blow dryers in the room but we didn't have one. They kept them at the desk but it was too late by the time we found out.

deeply disappointed. no working tv. no hot water it was barely Luke warm to shower. no working air conditioner only the fan worked. paid $400 for one night.... testing the buildings smoke alarm system so we were not allowed to even enter til after 5 pm... mini refrigerator was unplugged upon arrival so we had to wait to use that as well...entry area had a bucket to hold a leak from a dripping ceiling pipe

Hotel was undergoing a bad renovation. Elevators didn’t work. Carpet was dirty & smelled like old wine. It did have free parking, a decent location & laundry facilities. Guy at front desk was nice. Room was clean.

We reserved a room with a balcony, the balcony was enclosed with the air conditioner condenser in it, it was unbearably hot to even open the door from our room to the balcony, so hot we couldn't sit out there. We arrived at 3:45 , was told the room would be ready at 4. We came back at 4:30 and was told try again at 5. Check in is at 4pm. I asked to use a bathroom and was told to walk across the street to the restaurant. Construction started every morning in the room under us and lasted all day! The sound of drills and hammers. Also noticed a few ants in our bathroom.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night thank goodness, unfortunately we arrived at the hotel in late evening or we would have left and not stayed. The floors were sticky and not clean. You could here other guest snoring in other room all night long and on top of that there was a loud leaking pipe that started halfway through the night into the early morning and it was constantly dripping, so needless to say there was no actual sleeping that took place just tossing and turning in the bed. The curtains did not cover the window all the way and room faced the east side of building and when the sun came up it was beaming through. We complained immediately - have pictures and video recordings that we shared with front desk and was told we would get a refund and that has not happened. On top of that my friend drank the apple juice from their morning breakfast set up and ended up having a stomach ache and getting sick from it that day. Thank goodness I just skipped out completely on the breakfast bar food/ drinks. I would not recommend staying here at this hotel unfortunately. All the other hotels we stayed at on our road trip were great thank goodness.

Ok, so this is a hard review to write. I had a total of 2 rooms. First room had toilet paper holder broken, soap dispenser in the shower was on the floor, the whole room smelled, paint (?) was all over the carpet and the tv did not work. I was moved to another room which was like day and nite. The whole place was spotless, smelled good and everything worked. So if I had to base my review on the first room it was be a very low 3. The new room was definitely a 5. While I understand they are redoing the rooms, they shouldn't rent out a room which is not up to par

I had to wear my shoes until I was in bed because the floors were not that clean. We also had to buy a fabreeze air fresher. The back corner we were in smelled like cigarette smoke.

We loved being able to walk across the street to the water. We saw some of a sunset and walked down for the sunrise one morning. The rooms were clean and nicely updated.

We had 2 rooms here. One room was ok but the other room was dirty. The floors were dirty and the shower was really dirty!

Looks good but needs cleaning

The room was very basic. More shelf/storage in the bathroom would be helpful. More hangers on the clothes rack too.

Decent room in a convenient location. Did not have curtains to cover the windows, so we had to use towels. Manager explained that new curtains were ordered, but delayed. They really should have left the old ones up until the new ones arrived. The sun streams in at 6:30 every morning.

Great location but this place lacks soundinsulation . Unless you are on the top floor you will hear your upstairs neighbor walking .

The hotel appears to have very thin floors, and if you're unlucky enough to not be staying on the top floor, you'll hear the floor creaking and squeaking as the people above you thump around. It sounded like a heard of elephants were above me. My room had a refrigerator placed right alongside the bed - about 4ft from where my head would be on the pillow. This meant I'd wake up every time the refrigerator would start up. This also made it quite narrow on my side of the bed - it would have been easy to stub a toe on it at night.

The room window overlooked the carpark which was not a problem. However, the curtains were only 1/4 width and when fully drawn only covered half the window. Discussed with reception but they were unable to help! The room was also poorly provisioned with lighting. Just one lamp between the beds and one in the entrance way. Breakfast was served at just 3 small tables in front of the reception desk. We just grabbed a muffin and a coffee and left.

Room 243 was too have had a harbor view, as per Hotels.com listing, it did not. Room 243 was very small. Walls/floors very thin, thus noisy. Shower was excellent. Breakfast was OK, but 8am is way to late for travelers that need to hit the road. Refrigerator/microwave was placed next to bed such that it was a tripping and potential death hazard in an event of a night fire. I provided this feedback 3 times to management, w/ no resolution nor response

Location perfect but room just okay and porch was full of hvac equipment and not as pictured on website- staff was very helpful.

I had a problem with the first room but the check in associate was able to get me a new room and it was comfortable. The biggest downside was minimal window coverings. And if there was no city light posts, the non closing curtains would not be an issue.

Pictures are not even close to what you get. Hotel is old and way overpriced. The noise from the room above us was loud they kept walking around and woke us up several times during the night. Our balcony was right next to the road. If possible stay somewhere else

Barely visible ocean. Room was very clean. Spray Cleaner left in bathroom. Only 1 chair on porch for 2 adults staying. No coffee pot in the room. No coffee in lobby till almost 8 am on saturday. Very flat pillows. Weird extra sink in the room. No place for power plugs. Stayed a few years ago. That Room was more welcoming. This one almost clinical. No instruction on the heat pump. Lobby too small for breakfast. Snotty front desk woman.

The plus here is the location! Parking is a nightmare during festivals which is the main reason we came for the Lobster Festival (limited reserved parking for guests). Not the friendliest of services, not the cleanest either. Again, location is the meat and potatoes of this place!

The main problem was that breakfast did not start until 8am. They would not open early for us. We had used Expedia to look for a hotel in the area that had breakfast, as getting a proper rest and a proper breakfast are important to having energy for traveling. All other hotels on our New England trip started breakfast at 6am, so we were able to get on the road at a decent hour on those days. But, a delayed start of 8am for breakfast at Harborline cut significantly into our day / travel plans, so we had to skip the breakfast at the hotel. Very disappointed. There were other minor problems -- with the remote for the heat, and the drapes did not cover the window properly, so there was a privacy issue. When you check into a hotel after a day of travel, you just want to relax and go to sleep. Instead, we were dealing with these logistical issues while very tired. We interacted with 3 staff members. One was very kind and understanding. The other 2 had an attitude problem. But, if the breakfast had started at a reasonable hour, I probably would not have even bothered to mention any of this.

The best part about this hotel is the location and during Lobsterfest the festival entry is right across the street. Upon entry the girl at the front was nice, but no early checkins. When we did check-in the guy was brusk and not very friendly. No electronic entry keys, all doors are keycodes. No amenities, no coffee machine. Parking is limited and you need a parking pass. I would stay again if I couldn't find anything else, but it won't be my first choice.

Nobody at front desk. Had to wait, call, search for an attendant. Code to the room door did not work 3 times.

It took awhile to find someone to check in but turns out he was helping someone to fix the tv in their room. Very nice room. Would definitely stay there again.

The bad first: Piping hot water at night, not even lukewarm at 8:30am the next day. I’m guessing housekeeping had began laundry etc and their system can’t quite keep up The good: I stayed here when it was Tradewinds and had a horrific experience. Filth, strungout front desk etc so I was VERY nervous. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely/ clean lobby and was greeted by an amazing employee. She was clear, kind and just the right amount of sociable. The room was no frills and basic but clean and fresh. The view was just a parking lot but really I wasn’t there to look out my window. I did like the passcode on the doors vs trying to keep track of the traditional card. It’s June so maybe prices will change but it was VERY affordable for Rockland. Park Street Grill is a stones throw from the front of the building and what a fun and delicious place. I will say don’t forget to put your do not disturb in the door. Housekeeping came knocking at 9 and again at 10:30. My bad for not putting that out but it was annoying for sure

The Harborline Hotel welcomed our sweet elderly dog for a small extra fee. Alaina checked in with us and made sure that when we arrived (2 1/2 hours later than expected) we had what we needed. Very conscientious and considerate. That alone would bring me back. Simple, clean and quiet accommodation…just what we wanted.

When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, which was closed earlier than listed, and an envelope was left with our personal information, room number and access code in plain view and accessible to anyone as the front door is not locked. We booked a harbour view room and got a view of the back concrete grounds of the hotel. The breakfast was inedible and consisted of powdered scrambled eggs, generic sausage and only a few instant coffee cups of flavoured coffee. Other listed amenities such as hair dryer and vending machines were not available. When we expressed these concerns to the staff in the morning, we were offered no compensation. The hotel is clean but not worth the price.

staff was helpful and courteous

This place served us well. We stayed at this hotel which was in a quiet location and away from the busier harbors. Good local seafood options along with a great Italian restaurant around the corner - Rustica Cucina Italiana. It was excellent. We stayed at the Harborline as a central location and drove to other harbors and sites during our stay. We ate at the Park Street Grill our last night. It was also great and had a pretty diverse menu. Staff at the hotel were great, and the room was clean and recently updated. They were in the process of updating other rooms during our stay. The only way we knew anything was going on was due to the storage and construction debris behind the hotel. I would recommend this hotel as long as you expect a hotel experience in a low key quiet town.

I unfortunately had a view of the rear parking lot. It didnt matter much because i felt safe enough to take a long walk around town before bedtime. I slept well on the comfy king bed. Very accessible to docks and town. Several restaurants nearby.

It was centrally located.

Stayed for lobsterfest which was conveniently right next door. Plenty of delicious local foods/restaurants/bars. Right by the docks where you can sail the Morning in Maine sunrise/sunset tour. Also very close to Owls Head for lighthouse about 10 min drive and a sandy beach for swimming about 10 min walk. 30 minutes from Marshall Point lighthouse if you want to visit Forrest Gump site. Accomodated for very late check in due to flight changes and understanding of medical emergency for late check out. Wonderful staff. 100% would stay again.

The email check-in process was redundant as we had to check in again once we arrived. I would rate this place an overall 2 stars at most. Service was slack, the breakfast was only take-out and consisted of sugary processed cereal and rubber eggs. Parking was chaotic, crowded and on gravel lots. The bedsheets were scratchy fabric and pillows were more rubbery than the eggs.

The location was convenient to the main street near the shops. I had a room with 2 queen beds, there was not a lot of room to move around in the room, the furniture should have been arranged differently or less of it. The breakfast room was a small table set up in the tiny lobby with no place to sit to eat, you had to take it back to your room. There eadnt much parking, part of the lot had construction material in it.

Breakfast options were not what the front desk said they would be. No bacon or sausage available either morning and the biscuits were hard as rocks. The worker in the cafeteria rolled her eyes as she walked away telling me we could take the sausage off of the Jimmy Dean sandwiches if we wanted sausage. We should have been rolling our eyes at that.

Breakfast was very sparse

The room and beds were fine. Very clean. The breakfast was terrible. Eggs were cement--sausage was grey, coffee unacceptable. Very disappointing and very few options in town on a Sunday.

Breakfast could be a bit better and the shampoo could be better . But overall everyone was very nice and helpful !
