The water was green in the pool and could not be used. I chose this hotel because of the pool and could not use it. The water was so green you could tell it was like that for quite some time. They should have let you know the pool was out of commission before you booked it.

It’s a super 8, so don’t go in with high expectations and you’ll be satisfied. It’s an older hotel, but overall pretty clean. Beds are pretty firm but fine, good breakfast, and good pool/hot tub. Works great when you need a place to sleep for the night and there’s no other options!

Really dirty hotel. Room was not as bad as hallways, stairways, and pool/hot tub area. Public areas were not vacuumed or swept. Multiple used bandaids on floor of pool room along with other trash. Elevator was sketchy and quit working during our stay as well.

I got to.my room and it was full of water ,a leak from air unit. The staff moved us to another room. This new room.had a tv and phone that did not work. Staff said sorry there is nothing more we can do. The pool had green dirty water and the hot tub only had half the jets working and was cold. The gym.had no access was told key pad is broken.

The entire first floor of the buildimg reeked of pot. The outside of the building was nothimg but garbage, broken beer bottles, empty beer cans and filth. We were there for the dog show and used the sude entrance to go out to exercise dogs. There was so much garbage and junk all over. It was disgusting. The carpet in halls was filthy. The staff was friendly but that was the only good thing. Would not stay again

hallway reeked of pot, hallways clearly not vaccumed; rooms were oddly laid out; staff was cleaning carpet in front of our doors at 2 am. Loud children in adjoining room we had a dog which was quiet all night until those kids were making noise, then he barked. Outside my window tons of litter scattered on the property; it is like no one cleaned. the rooms were clean for the most part but everywhere else was dirty. I booked this base on an 8/10 rating and I was extremely disappointed.

Perkins next door was convenient. Our room was dingy with stained walls, tub, towel with a burn hole, parts of bathroom not cleaned, the hair dryer had layers of dirt, wrinkled sheets, not enough blankets. There was a very strong smell that seemed like an undiluted antiseptic had been spilled. It was gross. The only nice thing was a newer mirror. Everything else needs replacing.

Went to Madison, WI for 2 days worth of medical testing. Got a diagnosis that is less than favorable and now discovered I brought home Bed Bugs from this hotel. So now I not only have to navigate a serious health condition but bed bugs as well. The room appeared to be clean so I didn’t wash all the clothes I didn’t wear while there, I know stupid. I have had to wash everything in my dresser and closet, rugs, bedding and basically my entire house. Definitely will not be staying there again when I go to Madison over the next 6 months for treatment. I’ve told my family not to stay there as well.

Dirty nasty place....dirty floors, dirty towels...used to stay here all the time for business trips and it was in great shape but it has just nasty now. Will never stay there again! Also nails all over the parking lot! Ended up with a flat tire!

Cleaning staff were extremely diligent with their cleaning but the property was extremely rundown. The gym actually smells and has black mold. The pool should have been refurbished 10 years ago. Hallways and rooms are rundown and smell old. Liked the staff. But the property will keep us away.

The pictures are not accurate for this hotel. The hotel could use some work. The carpets in the hallways and stairwells are very dirty and not maintained. Our tub had a hole in it and they put an anti-slip mat over the top of it. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Yes you could hear the TV on next to us but you can at most hotels. Our room was dirty. Maybe my level of cleanliness exceeds the housekeeping department. The homeless like to hang out in the stairwells and come in for breakfast. Kind of a sketchy place!

It’s an older hotel that needs some updating, but the bed was comfortable and overall very quiet. Pool is not the cleanest. One of our rooms was overbooked, which was frustrating because someone knocked on our door at 7 o’clock in the morning because they thought our room should be there. That was very frustrating. Staff is friendly.

Breakfast menu was limited- only one item of fresh fruit and that was marginal apples. Rooms air conditioning unit sounded like a jumbo jet whenever it kicked on and ran. Positively, staff were polite. Location was close enough to city centre to make the stay convenient.

The room was ok. After shower I noticed water all over the bathroom floor despite having pulled curtain all the way shut. Room 315 needs new shower head....can't adjust flow. Smoke alarm had been removed and wires hanging. Other than that, I like the location and the speedy check-in.

This was the only available hotel for under $250 at the time I stayed there. I travel a lot and this is the worst hotel room I have been to. The room looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1990s, it smelled (not bad, just an old room smell), there was mold in the shower. The door connecting my room to the next room did not lock on my side, so that anyone from the adjacent room could have come into my room during my stay. That made me very uncomfortable. The bed was okay, the pillows were small, hard and uncomfortable. The room temperature was comfortable, the noise level okay. I could hear people in the next room watching TV, but it was not loud.

Our check-in process went smoothly and the clerk was friendly and courteous. Room was comfortable, except there was a fair amount of noise from other rooms that interfered with sleep. Breakfast on the first morning of our stay had eggs and sausages that were still frozen. Tables were dirty, and no attendant present to check on food levels. The second morning, there was an attendant, and our breakfast experience was much more positive. The one issue that wasn't resolved was 2 local TV channels that didn't work, despite being listed on the program guide.

Our reservation was for two rooms, 3 nights. Check-in and first night were normal. Left for tourist events. When we returned, 9:00 pm, neither room was made up. Went to bed. Shortly someone with a key attempted to enter our room. We were all startled; manager phoned immediately. Said we weren’t in the system; couldn’t find us by name so both rooms had been cancelled/erased. She had me spell our name THREE times, then told me to go to sleep, she’d take care of it. I immediately phoned our second room and cautioned them to flip the security bar. Around 2:00 am someone with a key attempted to enter their room. In the morning, new manager knew nothing about it. We started over and she had to phone the night manager. Eventually, we got new keys for both rooms. NOT a good experience.

Awful. What a trainwreck it’s been to try and get someone to take responsibility for booking a reservation through Expedia and ultimately I had adjusted it down to one night and the front loaded almost the entire two night original charge onto one night to benefit them. They never sent me an updated amount or an agreed-upon nightly rate for me to be able to know ahead of time that they were frontloading the reservation, far far above the average price per night. This was already a premium because of an event going on in town. They ended up charging me $356 for one night at a grimy disgusting super eight motel. It was so gross that we opted to drive the five hours home that night rather than to stay there. Number one advice don’t book through a third-party vendor, number two advice don’t stay at this disgusting hotel. To top it all off when we were checking in the front desk person had their AirPods and the whole time talking to somebody in the language that we couldn’t understand and told me they were only taking my credit card to have on file for damages and ultimately, I never signed anything agreeing to the incredibly inflated nightly rate. Just bad customer service all around.

I asked the front desk woman who is Indian. Not that that matters but she spoke so quickly that I couldn't understand her and I asked her. Do you have a laundry service? And she said yes and I asked how much would it cost for a load of laundry and she said $5 and I asked. Do you have an ATM on site? And she said don't worry I will give you the quarters. So I went upstairs. Got my clothes. Came downstairs And ask for quarters to do laundry and she said do you expect me to charge this to your room? And I said no. You said you were going to give them to me..... She said I can't charge them to the card and I asked her when I asked. Do you have an ATM to get cash? You said you would give me the coins and she said no. You have to go get the coins from the ATM. You have to get money from the ATM then I will give you the coins and then I walked over the ATM and it was out of service. I had to take my laundry to another facility and they were not even sorry about the time that I drug my laundry up the stairs down the stairs up the stairs they could care less.

They have daily housekeeping. Yet, sometimes they come in the room and do nothing: bed not made, bathroom not cleaned, lucky if you can get a new towel. They are always away from the desk. It's just over sketchy area. But the gentleman who checked me in was really nice and accomodating when I asked about room with more outlets. Overall it's just a dated building that needs to be rebuilt to today's standards.

The night manager was awesome, very helpful, willing to help us out, friendly to us and our 4 year old, just overall great. Property and room was very nice. The carpets did look a little old and probably could use a cleaning from room to room, but nothing horrible at all.

Horrible service. Checked in around 9 pm, requested extended check out. Check out was approved, told to call the next morning and tell front desk a time. (Weird for me to have to go out of my way to do so, but I agreed) returned to our room at 8:30 am, Cale’s front desk, gave them a time. Told to call back at 9 am and discuss this again. I explained that we had just gotten to our room for sleep, and that I would try to call but that this was their notification and my request. At 11 am a knock came to my door from housekeeping, telling me to vacate the room, I explained we had a late check out for 1 pm. Even offered to pay extra. And I was told that was not his problem, and that late check out was 11:30. At this point I said fine, give me 45 mins to get myself together shower and I would vacate. Instead I was told that it was now 11:30, and he would not allow further time and we needed to leave right then. I went to the front desk, explained everything. And was refused a refund. So we did everything right by them. Paid for a room with a deposit. That both were not returned to me. And we only utilized the room for 2.5 hours of sleep. At the end of the day- very unprofessional and even if I was in the wrong, which I was not, it’s never okay for staff to speak with someone the way I was spoken to.

Do not stay here. I was flying in from South Carolina for game day. I booked my room 5 months in advance. As I was pushing back from the gate at the airport I called them to let them know I would be landing at 10:30 pm and would be checking in around 11:00. I got to the hotel at 11:10 only to find out they cancelled my reservation and gave my room to someone else and no longer had any vacancies. Because it was a football weekend I could not get a room. I never write reviews but under the circumstances I felt the need to.

We chose the Super 8 by Wyndham Madison South because we stayed here three years ago to attend the horse fair at the Alliant Energy Center. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean, whereas the hallways and stairwells looked like they could use more cleaning. The pool area was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was also a bonus. I was disappointed that there was no fitness center available as I was hoping to utlilize it while we were there.

The photos seemed nice, but upon arrival I learned looks were VERY deceiving. I arrived around 1 a.m. and by that that time it was too late to try and find a different place. Staff were nice, and helpful at check in. I forgot my tumbler on the counter and it was still there the next morning. Interesting demographic of individuals staying there, and various odors permeated the air. The carpet had stains, not sure from what exactly, but quite possibly bodily fluids. I slept in my street clothes on top of the covers. The shower had nice water pressure. Dry cereal and toast for breakfast. The coffee was hot and the ice machine worked - so I considered that a win. Conveniently located on Madison’s South Side near the bus line and a several eateries.

I deliberately booked the hotel for the hot tub, which was broken. There was also no decaf coffee. At breakfast many of the food stations were empty despite it being a Thursday. No fruit loops, hash browns, etc. No one looking after the breakfast station. Disappointing.

Toaster not working well, eggs lukewarm , potatoes lukewarm, English muffins a little stale. Coffee ok. Apple juice only no orange juice. Oatmeal but didn’t see any milk. Upstairs travelers sounded like they were bowling or lifting and dropping weights for about a half hour at 2am. Crazy noisy!

Clean and comfortable. Much better breakfast than any Super 8 I have ever stayed in. A few of the guests were noisy in the hallways and constantly coming in and out of rooms, but overall it was a relaxing and pleasant stay. The staff were excellent.
