This is a solid hotel for the room rates. It is very close to the naval base and convenient for attending boot camp graduation. The staff was very nice. I enjoyed the snacks that were available daily. Plus there was a microwave in the lobby and paper goods, plastic ware. Easy access to Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s and Subway. Also a convenience store nearby.

Stayed for RTC graduation. They ran a shuttle which was nice. Cost $10 round trip which wasn’t bad. Staff was nice and helpful. There is a few restaurants within in close walking distance. Which is nice if you don’t have a car.

I love how close it is to the base for graduation , they have shuttle to the graduation and were amazing with letting you decorate for your new sailors ! over all I was happy with the stay !

I went to my son celebration at the Navy recruit in Great Lakes. The drive from the hotel to the location was less than10 minutes, with out the ceremony traffic. This hotel is very peaceful with plenty parking. I enjoyed and would recommend this hotel to families that will be attending their child's Navy Ceremony.

staff & shuttle service was very friendly and convenient! when solo traveling with my 2yr old to my husbands graduation, the shuttle service ensured her car seat would safety be ready for us when time of pickup and they did! only thing to comment on is the limited breakfast: only cereal, waffles & yogurt. location was quiet and not too far from anything north chicago. would go to this location again!

This hotel was decent, it was mostly clean, the carpets could definitely use a good cleaning as our floors were stained and sticky. There were also some questionable stains on the bathroom walls. The website listed an indoor pool but when we got there, there was no pool or signage for the pool to see. But overall if you are looking for a no frills hotel, this is a decent place

We stayed on 7/26/25. Check in was great! Got to our room, left about 1/2 hr later to go to a concert. Got back around 11:30pm, left at 11:45pm. There was a live cockroach running around in the bathroom. Took a picture, went to the front desk. No one was there. We turned in our room key and got out of there. Called the next day on Sunday to speak with a manager. He wasn't in. Called again on Monday, no manager again and the front desk could not help me. I booked two rooms for my family last week. One of the rooms had a strong, unbearable odor that smelled like a rotten dead body. I immediately reported the issue to the front desk and asked to change rooms, but the staff refused. Instead of helping, they simply handed me an air freshener and told me to spray it myself. I checked out within ten minutes of checking in and requested a refund, but that was also denied. They still charged me $150 for a room I couldn’t even stay in. Average room, nothing special. I had dead bugs in my light inside the shower and my family member in another room had roaches in his 1st floor room. However, it was close to the naval base for bootcamp graduation. Area around seemed ghetto.

Front desk staff were never at the desk, you had to use the phone at the counter to have someone come to the desk. They were rather impersonal and unwelcoming. Room had an unpleasant (mildew?) smell, perhaps from the shower curtain. TV image was distorted, not really watchable. Just a strange place with an unfriendly and strange vibe. On the positive side: it was pretty cheap, and the room itself wasn't bad except for the odor and TV.

The second I walked into our room I noticed my sheets were dirty. When I spoke to front desk regarding the situation and showing her the photos she just handed me a new set of sheets and pillow cases. Our hairdryer didn't work nor the light above the shower. I guess I at least expected an apology for the state of our room or the opportunity to correct it. It was definitely disappointing and I felt that the hospitality was lacking. We drove 6 hours for my brother's naval graduation and I at least expected to have a clean room to sleep in

It was close to the Naval training center which was convenient. Hotel is outdated and beds are small. Otherwise the staff was great and we enjoyed our stay. Big plus they have slot machines if you are over 21.

Everything was fine except the water pressure in shower was really low not just once both times I took shower. Around 10:00 pm after checking in I took shower and next morning around 6:30 am same thing. Breakfast is just the plain carbs no protein options at all. Please at least add boiled eggs to breakfast. Overall I will give 3.5 star rating.

The area around the hotel was noisy and getting onto 41 was difficult due to traffic. The staff was excellent. We were there for our son’s graduation from the Navy. Hotel was convenient to the RTC. Again the staff was excellent. They helped us out by allowing us to change rooms when we realized he would have overnight liberty. Good place for military families to stay.

My hotel review I had to go Karen on these folks bru I paid $236 for my stay here, but somehow my card was also hit with an extra $122 charge and another $113 charge. When I called to ask about it, instead of helping, the front desk lady decided rudeness was the policy of the day. Apparently, hospitality isn’t included in the price. For nearly $500 total, I expected at least basic courtesy, but I guess that costs extra too. If you enjoy surprise charges and staff who act like answering your questions is ruining their afternoon, this is the hotel for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. please train your staff that answering the phone isn’t a personal inconvenience. And maybe fix your billing system so that I don’t have to play “Guess That Charge” after checkout. A smile and a correct receipt aren’t luxury amenities, they’re the bare minimum. The hotel lady really didn’t have to be rude. I tried to ask calmly about the random extra charges, but her attitude made me feel like I had no choice but to try to get her fired since she’s no help.

Property is okay. The breakfast was limited very limited. The staff were very friendly and nice. It is very convenient to stay close to the base for graduation. I had a bad experience waiting for my Uber at 4 AM. Car with tow guys inside driving by several times by front door and yelling out of the window for no reason disrespectful words at me. It was scary and no one at the front desk. It felt unsafe place.

I had to cancel my stay due to change in plans that were out of my control. The stay was cancelled days in advance and Expedia contacted the Sleep Inn near Great Lakes on my behalf to ask for a refund. Although it was cancelled days in advance the hotel refused to provide a refund. Be wary of these people as they are crooks and will steal your money.

The area around the hotel was noisy and getting onto 41 was difficult due to traffic. The staff was excellent. We were there for our son’s graduation from the Navy. Hotel was convenient to the RTC. Again the staff was excellent. They helped us out by allowing us to change rooms when we realized he would have overnight liberty. Good place for military families to stay.

This is a solid hotel for the room rates. It is very close to the naval base and convenient for attending boot camp graduation. The staff was very nice. I enjoyed the snacks that were available daily. Plus there was a microwave in the lobby and paper goods, plastic ware. Easy access to Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s and Subway. Also a convenience store nearby.

The Sleep Inn was just fine. Economical, convenient to my location, Abbott, and quiet. The area is pretty much underdeveloped and there are limited dining choices under a 20 minute drive. I had hoped they would have cleaned my room during my four night stay. I guess one has to ask these days.

Property is okay. The breakfast was limited very limited. The staff were very friendly and nice. It is very convenient to stay close to the base for graduation. I had a bad experience waiting for my Uber at 4 AM. Car with tow guys inside driving by several times by front door and yelling out of the window for no reason disrespectful words at me. It was scary and no one at the front desk. It felt unsafe place.

Stayed one night and it was good. As in every hotel you have the inconsiderate people slamming their doors to their room as if they’re the only ones there! No real hot choices for breakfast other than waffles, which were good. Price was reasonable on Orbitz.

Breakfast had only waffles and coffee for couple days, honestly this property shouldn’t even claim they serve breakfast. When they eventually had eggs, it was a cold boiled egg. Room was no quite clean. The side of the bed on the floor was dirty. Asked for room service and it still wasn’t cleaned. Staff was pleasant at check in.

staff & shuttle service was very friendly and convenient! when solo traveling with my 2yr old to my husbands graduation, the shuttle service ensured her car seat would safety be ready for us when time of pickup and they did! only thing to comment on is the limited breakfast: only cereal, waffles & yogurt. location was quiet and not too far from anything north chicago. would go to this location again!

Everything was fine except the water pressure in shower was really low not just once both times I took shower. Around 10:00 pm after checking in I took shower and next morning around 6:30 am same thing. Breakfast is just the plain carbs no protein options at all. Please at least add boiled eggs to breakfast. Overall I will give 3.5 star rating.

This was my second stay. The hotel and rooms were pretty, clean, and comfortable. The prices were reasonable. The complimentary breakfast( waffles and coffee) were very good! Staff was cheery and friendly. Short walk to McDonalds was nice. Will stay again and again!

Went for my daughter’s Navy graduation. Was given a QR code with helpful information. Breakfast opened early so we could make it to graduation with time to spare. They decorated the lobby which was thoughtful.

Staff was great. My biggest issue was the elevator wasn’t working which was really inconvenient when having to lug suitcases down stairs. It’s a good location for the Navy boot camp graduation and I would stay again.

The staff were all awesome!! The bedding and towel were clean. The rooms need a deep cleaning. Carpets, corners and woodwork, doors and handles. The people working here made up for the shortcomings. Superb staff, especially young lady working Wednesday, July15,2026. She was extremely helpful in guiding us on protocols for getting tickets for grandsons U.S.Navy graduation boot camp. SO helpful.
