Charleston Creekside Inn

The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lackluster, and although we were there 5 days, never varied. The pool area was very unkept, and the pool was dirty, so we didn’t want to go in. The rooms were clean. Lovely, peaceful view from their dock.

This is a great little hotel for the money. Very relaxing sitting on the dock watching people fish.

The creek provides a nice place to relax, the pool was clean as well.

If you're budget conscious, this motel has a great blend of amenities and cost. Within its class, it's probably the best of the cheaper options around Charleston. The dock is a nice touch as well.

You can tell the new management is trying very hard. They are working to make a dive motel into a nice creekside experience. Our only issue is the shower dripped in room 204 allllll day/night, and the internet was very slow.

Stayed 2 nights. What I did not like was the ice machine was not working and they supplied ice using an ice chest in the lobby. Not very sanitary. Also, I reserved double beds and the key would not work (2x) so they only had kings available. I did like the location and the price was reasonable.

Bed was comfy. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. The property is nice but needs some maintenance. The people working there were very nice. The floor in the room needed better cleaning but everything else was clean. They had no internet I’d stay there again.

Stayed for 3 nights. Beds are comfortable. Pool is clean. Loved the dock. Caught fish and blue crabs. Staff was friendly and front desk person is knowledgeable about the area. She told us about good seafood restaurants in the area. Love that it was pet friendly, as we had our dog. Note: There is an extra fee due when you get there. Overall good stay. Would recommend.

There were some cockroaches running in the room and AC was leaking badly

Breakfast rated 2 stars out of 5. It's what I'd expect at a one star or less hotel. Bathroom bottom molding with black mold. Bathroom Paint job incomplete & messy. Bed mattress not comfortable. Had group of guys linger outside my room from 5 pm to around 9 drinking & talking loud. Nothing done to protect paying persons peace.

We have stayed here several times over the past two years since our son moved to the area. However this time, the conditions have drastically gone down hill. We were room 101 and the room had dirty floors, the walls around the toilet and sink had splashes and drips on them and there was clear mildew and mold growing on the baseboards, and the whole place could use a deep clean- dust piles on top of the ice bucket, lights etc. it smelled musty like there had been a flood. I don’t know if we will be back after this- the place was full so no real options to move to a different room. Your claim to being a filming location on Netflix can only take you so far if you aren’t keeping up with the Maintenance! Bummed because it was so cute when we stayed here starting two years ago and it’s just gotten more expensive and worse. Two thumbs down.

It was nice, staff was great, quiet and peaceful. There was unfortunately a good amount of mold on the ceiling of our room.

Our first room was not clean at all. Wasn't vaccumed, looked like animal hair all over the floor and bed. The sink was gross, the bathtub was dirty and worse of all there was poop all over the door and walls. We were given a new room. Thankfully this was qas better, but still not very clean. Still had hair that wasnt ours in the bathtub. The housekeeping never changed sheets nor was the bed fixed. It looked like a 7 year old "tried" to fix the bed. We would never stay here again, nor would we recommend.

They really make you think this is going to be such a great stay at a boutique hotel and advertise that a popular tv show was shot here. Room was filthy. Weird stains on walls. The floors had dirt all over them, the small amount of carpet under the beds didn’t looked like it had been vacuumed in months. Candy, an AirPod, crumbs and dirt were all under the bed. There was no toilet paper holder - so you have to leave on the back of the toilet. AC unit has a towel under it because it leaks. The ceiling leaks in the bathroom. There are no curtains on the windows so the hall light shines in all night. The door doesn’t have a deadbolt, only the top catch latch and on more than one occasion, friends of my daughter just pushed the door and walked right in because the door didn’t lock on its own (a key should be necessary to open). Extremely unsafe! Dogs barked all night. Woke up to same dog dropping his ball on repeated above us at 6am. Requested compensation for a horrendous stay and was told it was denied by the hotel. Don’t stay here.

Bedroom area was clean; bathroom corner had piles of hair, bathroom smelled like urine; shower curtain was dirty, sour, and had black mold; no closet, no toiletry amenities. Two reading lights by bed and one floor lamp that had to be plugged in to turn it on. We concerned about our safety as there were many men loitering in front of apartment doors. The walkways to the room were covered with dropped seeds making it impossible to roll suitcases. We cut our stay to one night.

You can tell they are trying to give a fresh look to the hotel, with cute shutters, nice comforters and towels. However, the room was dirty and smelled. Your feet stuck to the floors. After mopping the floor with a room towel, I showed it to manager, she wouldn’t take it to have it cleaned but had me throw it away, it was that bad. She did offer to come clean the floors, but by then it was 8pm and they were mopped by me. Carpet and baseboards just as bad, but I wasn’t going there. Cute place, but needs more work.

The rooms were far from clean and the air conditioning unit was pulling off the wall to the outside.

The area was convenient for my husband and I as we were traveling back and forth to Kiahaw. The only critic I have is that the bed and sheet felt damp/wet and I think it’s due to the air conditioner and the weather from outside coming into the room, I hated that feeling and no matter how much i lowered the temperature and made cooler, its the same. There is also a light outside each room, if you like a dark room, not going to happen, feels like day time at night. It is a pet friendly hotel so you will get a shall stench of pet. Otherwise, it was an ok stay.

The bathroom and shower room are out of date as far as the fixtures go in the shower along with zero water pressure and the exhaust fan didn’t work. The ac unit wouldn’t cool off a 5’x5’ area but all in all it was a safe location to stay for a night.

Room was clean and spacious. Heating/AC worked very well. The best TV channel selection of any hotel that I have stayed at to date.

No curtains, uses shutters, too bright sleeping, no hair blower, no room coffee maker, few lights inside, Had too few towels. no TV instructions way too complicated. Brfst was good except cold eggs.

The condition of the room was poor. The toilet wasn't fixed to the floor and lifted off the floor with leaning. Be prepared to rifle through your suitcase. There are no drawers in the room. The room didn’t have a coffee maker. So guests have to go to the office for coffee. The grounds are nice. The price was more affordable than other places. There was no coffee maker in the room. Guests had to go to the office to get coffee.

The place has no closets, no curtains and the furniture is very sparse. But it was very clean.

Beautiful grounds next to creek where folks try fishing and even has a fishing pier. Beds are fantastic, shower is great except no place to put your soap n shampoo which i find very strange. Also no towel bars to hang towels, just hooks. Small rooms, ok for 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast was good. Nice pool.

Although room was very clean, my husband had to unscrew the light outside our window due to it being so bright. There were no curtains just shutters on the inside windows and light was blaring. We left on Sunday night instead of checking out Monday.

The rooms had been redone but they left the old shower heads that barely sprayed so not pleasant at all. Also it was very loud. Our room was right next to the office and it sounded like people were standing in our room talking. We didn’t sleep well the whole trip from all the noise. It wasn’t muffled noise it was full blown conversations where you could hear every word, laugh, etc from the office workers and people eating breakfast, etc.. the room was at least clean so I gave it 2 stars.

The location was great but the air conditioning in my room sounded like a big truck running very loud all night.

The check in person was unnecessarily rude. Asked for a refund to stay somewhere else, and she chased me off the property. For your safety, do not go here alone.

The room is certainly comfortable enough, but it was disappointing that we had reserved months in advance, and they could not accommodate the room type we reserved. No consideration was provided such as a small discount, a bottle of water, or even an apology! But other than that service issue, it was a fine brief stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Property is old, but generally in good condition.

What I liked: room was good sized. Shower was hot and had great water pressure. What I didn’t like: I was charged twice for room, took 3 tries to correct. The last person was extremely helpful though. Extra fees if you pay for your room with a credit card. Room smelled musty.

I gave this place a 5 on everything except the customer service. Checking in was a breeze. The room was nice. Very clean, quiet and bed was comfortable. Bathroom a little outdated but VERY CLEAN! My only complaint would be the pricing and checkout. I was solo traveling with my dog. The room was $185 then pet fee $35 then $100 for room security. I was told I wouldn’t be charged the $100 it’s just a hold in case and it would come off my account upon checkout… well at checkout I had to wait 15 minutes for the girl to show up. I asked about the hold and she told me..”how am I suppose to put the money back on your card”? It’s Sunday, banks aren’t open. It will take 5-10 business days… (well they charged my account) she took my room keys back and walked away…not even a have a great day…

Older motel but it was clean and staff was very friendly. Motel is small and full but it was very quiet and respectful. Great for a couple or someone on business. Location is great too. Just close enough to get to everything but far enough to avoid major traffic. Definitely recommend and, like the name says, you are very much on the creek or marsh. Love the low country!

Nice stay. Our room was too close to main road and i could hear the traffic all night. If we stay again i would requesr room further from road.

This property is on busy US17, and traffic was often heavy and fast. It is convenient to the road and freeway system, but Charleston is traffic choked. The tourist district is 15 to 20 minutes away. The staff was friendly and the service excellent. The rooms are small. There is no closet (4 stout hooks on the wall next to the sink), and it requires some movement to close the door to the bath/toilet area. The property has obviously been upgraded relatively recently and is quite pretty. It sits next to a marsh that is quite lovely.

Easy access to highway. Nice scenery from room over to waterway.

The location was great for us as we were traveling to see the plantations along the Ashley River Road and we were traveling by motorcycle so we did not want to go the interstate. 61 is a great scenic route and was very close to the hotel.

Loved the location of this hotel ! Clean and comfortable. It is close to the busy highway so you will hear the cars all night long but it didn’t bother me.

First time visiting Charleston, and I realized just how high hotel rates are. The Creekside Inn was still higher than I prefer to pay, but in comparison, it was on the lower end. The hotel itself is outside of the main touristy part, but it's an easy direct-shot drive to downtown and the French Quarter. It's also an easy drive to/from the airport. It is old fashioned with the doors facing outside, but they've done a good job remodeling the rooms. The room itself was clean with comfortable beds. And the AC works well, which felt great after being out in the heat and humidity. I'm not sure if the bathrooms were part of the remodel -- that's where the room looks a little more worn down, but it was fine. Like a lot of hotels, the towels are really thin and cheap, so that was disappointing. We were offered towels mid-stay, but we were caught off guard by the employee coming into our room around 8:30am. I also had a situation where I got back after midnight and the lot was full, but I saw an employee sitting outside and he moved his car to the grass so I could take his spot. The setting on the creek is unique. We didn't spend too much time exploring, but it's worth walking over to the creek. The pool was also busy, although we did not use it. Overall, it was a good stay and I'd recommend if you don't want to pay big bucks to stay in downtown Charleston.

The Inn was in a pretty setting. But the traffic getting in and out was terrible. There are no restaurants within walking distance and the traffic made it difficult and dangerous to find a place. Not many options for breakfast. Honestly, I thought it would be a little better,

Property and rooms could really use a good cleaning and breakfast is awful, very limited with eggs that sat around for hours and watery waffle mix. We won't be trying breakfast again. Don’t trust the positive reviews. There are signs on the road boasting about contractor rates. There is a reason they are doing that.

This recently renovated property was a gem… clean renovated rooms, friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast buffet and well-maintained pool and lawn area adjacent to a lovely marsh creek make this a winner given the relatively low cost. I will definitely stay here again!

This was an older motel….as noted by pics & previous reviews. I like to stay places based on price & property grounds. I enjoyed the view right beside me. I noticed other people enjoyed the pool, I did not use this amenity. The breakfast was modest, but I made a waffle & put on some Nutella. This is not a fancy stay. We used the room for sleeping & showering, so upscale isn’t necessary for us. It seemed clean & the bed and pillows were comfortable. Everything worked & I didn’t see any kind of damage to the room. I noticed most other people were young families or couples.

Clean well maintained rooms, couldn’t hear street noise. Nice grounds. Great for the price. Breakfast needs improvement with choices fresh fruit varied baked goods and cereal

It is right off the highway. The breakfast was good. Hot items and cold items.

The front desk staff was nice & often respond promptly to your request. However, the room was not well maintained. The AC was so noisy & dirty with some dusts flying out whenever its fan was running. None of us could sleep well throughout the night due to the intermittent noises from the AC. The pillows were old & kind of smelly, so we didn’t use them. There was only one chair in the room & it was placed in a narrow area of the walkway, so we cannot sit on it anyway. The breakfast was so bad with sour coffee and old eggs. There was a waffle maker, but the waffles we made were sour too; not sure how long the waffle mix had been there that make the waffles sour. I would rather them not offering any breakfast than giving us bad breakfasts every morning. We stayed here for 4 nights & rented 3 rooms, but every single room seemed to have similar issues according to complaints from other family members.
