Muir Woods Lodge

Clean room, but could have used a refresh on paint (there was chipping paint and peeling paint patches on wall). Rust stains in toilet. Glad we got a room on the back side, away from the highway. Room was very small, but good to get some sleep... don't plan to spend any extra time in room you don't need to.

The hotel property itself was OK. Obviously, because I was only there for one night, I wasn’t looking for a five star with amenities. However, I was agreed at kindly and given my choice of rooms, either upstairs or downstairs in the back; where it was supposed to be quiet. I chose the downstairs room. The issue… Whoever was upstairs had music going all night long and they were banging around. There was also an additional one or two units behind me that were being noisy until about 1 AM. I went to the front desk around midnight; no one was there. Then I went back around 1 AM and knocked on the door. Then again at 2:30 AM, I rang the evening buzzer no response. At the risk of getting involved in the confrontation, I did not contact the neighbor upstairs at 3 AM. But he did turn the music off, but the pounding continued. Finally, at checkout I told the staff about my lack of sleep adventures. They didn’t really seem interested. They basically said they will “let them know”.. They seem very disinterested in my calm complaint as they tuned and walked away. So I just said goodbye and left. Based on what I was looking for in a hotel for the evening, I would’ve given this place 4 stars had that problem been resolved and had my room been ready when I checked it at 4:00 PM. (no towels and final bed coverings). however, I will reiterate, the gal who stalked my room and check in person were very pleasant welcoming.

Each room has all the helpful items including microwave and a bathtub I enjoyed.

Old hotel needs allot of updating

I walked into my room and immediately book another hotel. The chair was filthy with stains everywhere. The bed was unkempt with dust bunnies in the bed coverings. The carpet and room was dirty and I did not want to be in the room at all. The front desk lady was very nice checking me in and I did not have the heart to tell her I was leaving. But definitely not a clean room.
