Nice pool area but in heavy demand so choose sun loungers wisely as the sun moves and once lounger in the shade then you are done as packed too tightly to move them.

I chose this hotel precisely for its location, close to all forms of public transport as i have reduced mobility and can't walk far. I would say that it is perhaps best suited to either people travelling for business, or for long weekends, rather than a longer holiday - we were there for a week. i say this primarily because in the entire room there were 2 very small drawers - between 2 people - see photo. having hung as much as we could, had to live out of the suitcase for the week - bedside drawers for things like medication/chargers etc wouold have been good. (First world problems and all that, but bear in mind when packing!). The rainfall showerhead was a bit hit and miss and the hairdryer was a bit temperamental too. Some maintenance is needed around the terrace and swimming pool area - the metal ladder rail came out of its housing as i went to get in the pool - another swimmer said had happened to him too and some of the non slip composite decking is not fixed down too well - potential trip hazard. Pool was lovely and warm. On the plus side, it was good to note that the pool does have some shallow steps at one end and a hoist if needed. All areas of the hotel appear to be accessible which is good and you can also take a slide down from 1st to ground floor! The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfasts were really good. Direct access into the train station was a real plus for me. I would stay again, but would pack light!

Hotellet innfrir både med lokalene og frokosten. Litt lite basseng når det er mye folk, da oppleves takterrassen og badeområdet litt lite. Perfekt for å ta en dupp eller sitte litt på kanten.

Clean, friendly staff and very convenient location. Only inconvenience was that pool was closed due to private event and we could not use it. My son was disappointed . I would suggest that private parties should be organized after the regular pool hours. Other than that, excellent hotel.

Tolle Lage, ruhig, mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt um die Ecke. Bahn/Zug/Taxi Anbindung. Sauber und schick. Nur leider der Pool kleiner als erwartet und trübes Wasser, nicht sehr schön.

Dans l'ensemble, la literie était confortable, les chambres spacieuses, les parties communes agréables. Manque d'insonorisation par contre des portes de chambre. La piscine était toutefois minuscule au vu de la taille de l'établissement. Le prix du parking (extérieur) de 22€ la nuit semble un peu élevé. L'emplacement est à environ 15 minutes à pieds du centre.

This amazing Barcelo Hotel has a door with direct access to the Mall. Can you believe that. The pool is quite nice ( no internet in the pool area). The gym is amazing with city panoramic view. The ac system is the best I ever seen. Digital modern and easy to understand. One botton only. The breakfast selection is above average. However I have to mention in the summer time the breakfast room is extremely busy. I had to wait 15 minutes everyday for my omelette. They only have one stove for the omelettes cook And there are dozens and dozens of rooms in the hotel so do your math. I still rate them 5 stars. I would stay here again for sure and recommended to everyone!

Clean room, friendly staff, attached to shopping centre & main train station, 15 min walk from Old Town, bus route 3 stop on street outside front door.

Very convenient to the train station. The room was excellent, we were in a penthouse type suite. But the wifi never worked well the whole of our five day stay. Management was very receptive and apologetic but could never fix the problem. Lobby was almost always dirty,, but our room was very very clean and nice. Also the hotel is not in a very good neighborhood. Lots of homeless right out front and nearby.

This hotel offers excellent services and facilities. It would be my first choice for a return stay. It is spotlessly clean. The staff are will do anything to help you. The breakfast and other food options are excellent. It is in a central location with very easy access to trains and taxis. It was my birthday during my stay and they even surprised me with cake and wine put in my room. What more could I ask for.

Unfortunately, we got bit every night. At first, I thought maybe mosquito’s because we had a window open on the first night. However, there were no mosquitos and we closed our window anyway. The second night, we had more bites. On my legs and lower extremities. I realized this might be a bed big issue! We checked out that day and I didn’t complain. But the welts were so big and after doing some research, I went to the farmacia and they confirmed bed big bites. Sadly, I had to write this review because we informed the staff on another written review. And there response within 3 hours of writing the review, was that they blocked the room had pest control come and found no signs. That seems a bit unreasonable to have all that done within 3 hours but ok. Staff is nice and buffet was good. Bed big bites or whatever bites they want to validate were terrible. I haven’t had a problem with bites since I left and we’ve stayed at other hotels with windows.

I am comparing this hotel to the Hotel Barceló Carmen in Granada where we had an amazing stay. My main issue with this place was cleanliness and attention to detail. Dust all over the floor, glasses not cleaned, no hand soap, tea and coffee not replenished. Obviously a hotel for churning through business guests, not for leisure guests. That being said, the rooftop pool was really great and we had a lovely couple of days up there. Location very useful for the train station but not a pleasant area, 20 minute walk from the main town.

Disappointing Room Experience Despite the promising exterior of the hotel, the room itself fell far below expectations. To start, the room 338 felt old and neglected. It was evident that maintenance was lacking, as the furnishings showed signs of wear and tear, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. The presence of a lingering unpleasant odor only added to the discomfort of the stay. Moreover, the room was overpriced for the dismal quality it offered. The mismatch between the cost and the condition of the room was glaringly apparent, leaving me feeling like I had paid far too much for far too little. In conclusion, this room was a disappointment in every aspect – from its state of disrepair to its inflated price. I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and satisfactory stay.

Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hotel liegt sehr gut, wenn man sich einen Mietwagen nehmen will. Es hat einen direkten Zugang zum Bahnhof, wo man die Mietwagenagenturen findet. Frühstück war super. Für jeden etwas dabei. Hotel ist hellhörig. Wer einen sensiblen Schlaf hat, sollte daran denken. Sonst wirklich top!

It was OK. Check in and out was pretty inefficient - I think they had a new staff member. Having previously stayed at Barcelo Granada this hotel was not as good. Rooms were smaller, shower was in the bath which for old people is difficult to step in and out.

Excellent hotel in a good location next to the main train station. Very quiet, comfortable hotel, huge bed, nice modern bathroom and 4 lifts that meant you don’t wait an age for one to come along. We only had a sandwich one lunchtime but that was good. Two gripes - the overhead shower was dismal, hardly any flow at all but there was a powerful hand held shower in mitigation. And we waited 15 minutes to check out at 10.00hrs. Not all stations were manned (unlike when we checked in at 14.30hrs on Sunday afternoon) and one guy must’ve taken 10 minutes to check in one couple. Would recommend but plan your exit carefully!

Nice hotel, comfortable beds and good breakfast. 20 min walk from most things in Malaga

Used to be an exceptional hotel in its hayday but now getting tired and dated. The aircon was noisy but without it was too hot for a restful night, aircon was set at 23C, which itself is comfortable temperature for sleeping, but when the air-conditioning unit kicks in the resonance was enough to wake us. The laminate flooring is creaking as it is detached from the base layer. Five stars for the staff.

Hardly any storage space for clothes

The hotel was so easy to travel to and from. Station from the airport was 5 minutes away from the hotel and easy to do with luggage. Room was so spacious nicely designed and a bed that was over 10 feet wide!!! Only downside room was too warm at times. We turned the AC controller right down but seemed only to have a slow fan with no cold AC air . I would definitely ask the hotel about this if staying in summer we were visiting in march

Bathroom smells badly Air condition not working, room is hot. Called reception, told not much can be done late at night. Expensive for the service provided. The light system and switches not the best.

We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo Malaga. Despite having an issue with a pipe leaking into our room during our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and proactive in getting this sorted. They kindly upgraded us to a different room as compensation. Their friendliness, kindness and help was outstanding with a particular mention for Nacho who was just the best. We would definitely stay here next time we are in Malaga and have already recommended it to family and friends. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Barceló Malaga! We arrived 3 hours early and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in early - which was much appreciated after a very early flight. The hotel amenities are very good and it was very clean. The hotel is directly linked to the train station, which is perfect for travel. There is also a shopping centre next to the train station with a supermarket and a food court - and lots of restaurants close by. The main centre of Malaga is approximately a 20 minute walk along a very easy route. We had a lovely 3 night stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. The highlight was definitely the rooftop pool - a great place to relax after exploring. We would definitely recommend

The concierge went above and beyond making sure I would receive a wheelchair accessible taxi to the airport in a pinch, calling multiple companies several times over until a taxi was acquired. Couldn't say enough about their kindness and helpfulness from telling us where to go to providing us luggage storage while we waited for our transportation to the airport – they didn't have to do this: it was several days after our stay, but it was much more convenient for us due to their proximity to the train station. The wheelchair accessible room had all the necessary features and space – though we couldn't get AC to work very well in our room (luckily we came in April and not June/July so it was fine).

A very comfortable and good quality hotel, with exceptional breakfast buffet, extremely comfortable beds and very friendly staff. I stay in hotels around the world every year (120+ room nights last year) and this hotel rates amongst some of the best overall.

I stayed here for three nights as part of some serious R&R. I arrived very early at the airport and I took a taxi round to the hotel. It would have been easier for me to have taken the train into Malaga directly from the station. The hotel is practically bolted to the side of the central train station. My room wasn’t ready (as expected) I changed in the toilet and went straight up to the sundeck at the top of the hotel. I stayed there until 7 pm. Then went to my room. I booked a basic room which was far from basic. Very well equipped room, beautiful bathroom and very spacious. I slept exceptionally well for three nights. Other than lunch on the pool deck and one evening meal. I didn’t eat in the hotel. But what I did have I enjoyed. Concierge were very good at providing recommendations for eateries. And they were on point with all of them. I’m hoping to come back in a few weeks for another three nights day. Overall, very good value for money. Very good location. (The feedback I heard most from other guests was that the sundeck was too small and didn’t have enough sun loungers. If you are a big group and this is your plan… This is not the hotel for you). As a solo travel, I was never short of a Sunlounger

The ground floor bar is really understaffed at peak time and the same for the check in desk. At peak times the queue is really long and understaffed.

Barcelo Malaga is accessible through the train station. The location is about a 15 minute walk to the plaza. Getting a cab to the port area and beach is inexpensive, quick and well worth it!

Hotel fine, great for trains etc. bit noisy outside, and later at night it's pretty busy- I wouldn't recommend the area for solos.

The hotel itself is ideal just around the corner from Marie zambrano station where you can travel onwards around Spain but pretty good for Malaga as not too far from the marina and city about 15 mins walk but the area around the station could be cleaner

Great location right next to the train station. Walkable distance to the Malaga old town which was great. Close to beach, restaurants, bars, and shops. Hotel was clean, nice staff, cleaning service every night , and wonderful amenities.

Está al lado de la estación de tren, lo que facilita mucho la llegada y el transporte si utilizas taxi dentro de la ciudad. Si prefieres caminar, estás a 12 minutos del centro caminando y es muy agradable el trayecto.

A medium range hotel that does offer the needs. Coffee machines were not good or not working properly. Staff were excellent.

Fantastic location to get out and about on the train. About a 20 minute walk to the city centre. Massive bed, big bath towels - bit disappointing to see that tea, coffee and milk wasnt replenished daily. Good breakfast, but the hot food was a little on the cold side. Would stay again though.

A lovely hotel in a great location for the train station. However, the B heaven bar doesn't open until 12pm, when B heaven opens 9 till 9, which is a little strange?. The inside slide was well used and a novelty, the hotel was modern and staff were friendly, but everything is done at a slow pace so don't expect quick service

Our check in was smooth and easy and room was very clean and fresh. We loved the fact that it was located next to the train and bus stations so our excursions were easy to get to. The restaurant in the lobby was great and the wait staff friendly and efficient. It didn’t seem as if the patio was so close to a main road and we spent a few hours there every night without being told we were sitting too long. The only negative thing was that we attempted to go to the rooftop bar at least 3 times. Once we were told at 1015pm that it closed at 10pm. The next night we went up at 730pm And it was closed and, on the third attempt, we went at 5pm and it was closed! It was very disappointing that there was no clear messaging. Other than that, would recommend this hotel for a nice place to stay while in Malaga if you are planning excursions outside of town also. It is at least a 20min walk to the old quarter however. So not central for that piece of it, but still a reasonable distance.
