Peppers Salt Resort & Spa

Had a great time there. 2 pools to choose from keep crowd separate. Shops and park outside for kids to play. Close to the beach.

The pool area is quite lovely. The Resort itself is nice enough although is starting to get a bit tired. We stayed on a Wednesday night and the Restaurant wasn't opened. The "cocktail bar" is OK, but nothing to rave about. There are a few very nice restaurants in very close walking distance. Buffet breakfast was quite nice.

the hotel is a bit run down. not enough staff. the bar is perm closed, you have to walk to the restaurant outside to get drinks. was amazing 8-10 years ago

Great pool

Room was very small, no where to put 2 suitcases. Rooms could do with renovating, bathroom is tired, shower head very basic and tiles are a bit mouldy. Peppers are usually better quality rooms so was disappointing. The location is lovely in Salt Beach, the on-site restaurant doesn’t open every night but there are other restaurants across the road.

We stayed 5 nights and it was enjoyable. It's well positioned. The place is about 20 years old but is very well maintained. The walk to the beach is past several restaurants and a pub and not too far. We also liked the Spa for massages and will return again.

Resort was great! Your walking distance to the beach, stunning pool to relax and have a swim, and the Spa is great for proper relaxation for both woman and men!

There were renovations at the time we visited, I didn’t know there would be no bar (well a makeshift that couldn’t make a cocktail) and no dining facility. There were venues not far from the resort so it wasn’t hard to find food. Reception staff was lovely But extremely busy so that wait to was lengthy

Comfortable unit easy access/ short walk to bar and restaurants off site.. Limited onsite amenities. Plunge pool units although advertised as private are shared and back onto main road. Very disappointing.

Loved the pool area The menu was a little lacking The cleanliness of the room was questionable and a little tired. We would go back though

It’s tired , very dirty carpets, bathroom worn with a shower head that was more like a garden sprinkler.

No room service for 6 days, no change of towels or replacement of supplies…we’ve been told we have to pay for that extra… Very dirty common areas, dirty carpet… Season restaurant was also very bad… Breakfast was ok, but needs improvement… Nice facility and location…

Room was neat and tidy but underwhelming, bar and seating area very poor, cheap decor and cocktails were premade and very ordinary. Breakfast was great but the room needs a spring clean, dust everywhere.

The resort is conveniently located and in a quiet area. Our room was spacious, and having a kitchen and laundry during our two week stay was a necessity we would have struggled to do without. Free undercover parking was also a plus. The resort is not like a hotel, unless you have paid for a more expensive room, room service is only provided once per week. When supplies are needed, these are to be obtained from reception, which is almost always a very long wait and so we ended up just buying things like toilet paper, detergent etc. The rooms are okay, quite nice but a little dated. They are quite clean in general, but the cleaning is not detailed. The cupboards smell musty/mouldy and haven’t been cleaned, there is a layer of dust inside. All the kitchenware smells like the cupboards. It looked as though mould was starting to appear on the bathroom ceiling. The pool area is lovely, but unfortunately often occupied by screaming, splashing children. The nearby beach is beautiful, but quite rough - better for walks than swims. We often drove to Coolangatta beach about 20min away. We really enjoyed our time on the whole, but would probably look at staying somewhere different next time.

Excellent 4 night stay. Staff are polite and friendly, the hotel is clean and well maintained, the pool inviting, and the rooms were cozy with comfortable bed and couch. Very well appointed. The only thing I feel needs review is the bed duvet inner as it wasn’t big enough for the bed, and maybe an new extra blanket as the one in the cupboard had clearly seen better days. Saying that, I would definitely stay at Peppers again!

The idea of the property is great. It has a lot of features available that are great, HOWEVER my partner and I entered the private plunge pool access room to find rubbish in one of the closets, a cockroach in the shower a brown dirt patch on the ottoman near the lounge, mould on the blinds from the door outside. Very disappointed in the care and cleanliness of the room.

I was there for 6 nights and my room was not cleaned even once, when there welcome paper said it would be cleaned at least one time during my stay. There were areas in the room that had dust like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic spot. Great pool area, well suited to small kids and large. However, I wouldn’t want to be adults only group and by the pool, it’s not very peaceful. Second time I’ve stayed in this area. It’s beautiful; stunning beach on your doorstep though it may only be patrolled on school holidays and weekends so check ahead or drive 5-10 mins to other gorgeous beaches. The creek is incredible. Clear waters, shallow enough for the little kids and still fun for the big ones. The restaurants and a few shops on The Salt ‘strip’ mean you can always everywhere and don’t need to leave the area if you don’t want to. Rooms here are very nicely done with luxury beds and linens and a really good size, very well suited to families, especially with the kitchenettes included and big bathrooms. You can easily put a roll away for a kid in the living area, without taking up all the space. We were a family of 1 adult and 2 kids with heaps of room. Free bikes can be taken into the main drag of Kingscliff via a beachside track, incredibly safe and pretty. 10 mins bike ride, 20 minute stroll. Service is pretty average. Manage your expectations. I read all the crap reviews and can agree that service isn’t what they’re known for but if you’re happy to get up from your lounger and order your own drinks and don’t expect/need the 5* service, this is a great hotel in a fantastic spot. Not bad value for families in my view.

Room was so small and so badly planned. Two doors to get to the toilet, it was like a maze. Can’t imagine what idiot must have planned the layout. Had next doors air conditioning unit on our balcony groaning away all night. Will never go back and definitely don’t recommend staying here.

The place is gorgeous however we got no sleep as a motor was stopping and starting ALL night from 2am- the constant drumming kept us awake

Everything was great apart from the water pressure in the shower. Little more than a dribble. All other facilities and aspects of the stay was outstanding. Great short stay. Will definitely be back.

The checkin could be improved by more information around locating our room. There was no signage in the car park about where to find the correct lift to the correct wing. There were a number of guests who arrived at the same time as us, and we were all having issues trying to find our rooms. This was frustrating as we were very tired and just wanted to have easy access to our room. Also, having the pools open until 10pm created noise from guests around the pool area into the evening which caused us to close our doors and windows due to the excessive noise. Overall, a beautiful resort and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Room was far larger than I expected. Essentially an apartment. Lots of amenities.

Amazing pools, one heated, nice breakfast buffet (should be included in the room rate though), and received a free upgrade to a larger room which was super spacious and had a little kitchen area.

We booked this property at the last minute, due to a canceled flight. The staff at reception was very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a suite, but did not get to enjoy all the facilities as we left at 6am. The room was clean, spacious and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

The reservation staff in my checking did not have my Accor membership details and even when provided did not acknowledge or even cared to decor returning guest. One male in particular was rude and showed arrogance in trying to educate me on my membership status with Accor. ( short brown hair with an unshaven face) had showed the worst attitude towards me when I asked about a complimentary drinks voucher which was promised to me upon my check in. I felt unvalued as a guest and his arrogant attitude towards me was unacceptable as far I was concern. I’m a gold Accor member who booked a room in a separate platform to Accor but this arrogant male tried to devalue my experience by giving me a lecture. I told him I was not impressed with his attitude. I also experience different levels of knowledge from the reservation staff which also adds to the overall poor experience ..

Our stay was very average. It seemed that there were staff shortages everywhere, poor staff at breakfast couldn’t even refill cutlery. Ordered drinks and food for around the pool, took 40 minutes to arrive and it was cold, silly system where 2 staff are needed to deliver food (can’t get into the pool area without swiping in and out), therefore two of the three staff were required just to deliver the food while one took orders, made food, poured drinks etc.. it was crazy. Nachos was dry overcooked cold and the cheese was congealed. Had to line up for 15 minutes to get pool towels (as reception staff hand them out), if they’re busy then you just wait in line, goodness knows why they don’t provide them in the rooms! We were allocated a disabled room (not requested or required) which was located at the very end of the wing, I would hate to have mobility problems and have to walk all the way to the room. Poor drainage in the bathroom. Outdoor balcony was dirty, ants everywhere, outdoor furniture was very old and needed replacing Bed comfortable. I felt so sorry for the staff having to work under such circumstances.

The girl on the desk was rude, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was putting them out by trying to stay there

I was awoken in the early morning by the service desk asking me to assist another guest who couldn’t gain entry due to an electronic key not working. I had arrived late the night before and had been intending to sleep late. There was only one staff member rostered on in the middle of the school holidays, very poor service.

There were not enough staff to check guests in. The room was dusty, the tv didn't work, and the ironing board kept collapsing on me.

The service level was lower than I had experienced previously at this hotel - this was my third stay in 3 years. There was no restaurant on site, the queue for check in, breakfast, bar service etc was so long each time it became very frustrating. Left the breakfast queue one morning after waiting 20 minutes to be seated and missed my included meal. The staff were inattentive and there was no room service available.

We loved the pool area and that the beach was only a 5 minute walk away. Great spot for families of all ages.

No water in the room. Reception not very helpful. Great pools but lacks in the way of food and I was asked to pay 38ausd in the morning if I wanted a glass of water only. Apparently it has to be classed as part of a buffet breakfast. The breakfast was underwhelming for 38 AUSD. The room was clean but the apartment doors sounded like cannon going off whenever anybody left their room. I could hear wires a lot of shouting going on around too. Could do better.
