I called 2 weeks in advance to see if the indoor pool was in operation. (I had disappointments with this in the past). The clerk at the front desk said yes. Upon arrival, the pool was closed. Dining was convenient, but overpriced. The restaurant was not overly busy, but had a band playing. We were able to get a seat quickly, but had to wait a long time for our food. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was outdated. Could of been cleaner. The continental breakfast was bare minimum which was ok just nothing good. The pool was extremely dirty. Then we found out that the pool was broken. The guy at the desk said it just needed to be cleaned and would open on time, later we found out if had been closed for days. We paid for a clean hotel with working indoor pool and was disappointed with our stay.

We stayed one night with the family. Good hotel, like the location. Breakfast was good, plenty choice of food. The only thing was not satisfying is shower, no water pressure at all. We liked the idea of having a swimming pool and available towels by the pool. We swam, although water seemed cloudy.

We liked it was close to everything. What we didn't like was it needs alot of repairs, all the ice machines we broke. It could be a beautiful place with alot of updating.

The hotel in general was not clean. From the outside the windows and outside were so dirty that we thought the hotel was closed. At breakfast the regular coffee and both juices were empty. No one came to refill anything while we were there. The choices were very limited. The elevator was filthy and the windows in the breakfast room were dirty. Some slats in the blinds were open and some were closed. It looked like an abandoned hotel.

Run down and dirty. 7 am breakfast came out at 07:35. Bathroom door was rotten and had mold on it. Room and hallway smelled bad and there were air fresheners in the hallway to cover it. Just not very well. Restaurant was good. Staff were nice.

It’s old,but it can be old and clean. The whole place is dirty. Clumps of dust behind the treadmill. Cobwebs all over the brochure stands. Hallways don’t looked like they been vacuumed in months and is full of trip hazards and tears. Pool view suite. Dirty. We cleaned and sanitized it all before we brought our stuff in. The walls have what I assume is blood on them and I don’t even want to guess what was on the walls in the bathroom near the tp holder beside the mold on the door frame.requested our room get cleaned the next day and no one came. As a lot of other reviews there is definitely some moisture smell in the room that’s pretty gross. All of the outlets needed to be replaced because plugs just fall right out of them. I went to plug in the lamp since the plug was 3/4 of the way out, and it made a huge spark. It would cost like five dollars to replace all of the switches and outlets in that room,plus it’s across from the Maint shop. Door to pool just has residential bedroom lock so no security. Big gap around it that glows at night from the pool lights. Pool is not clean. Not that i would have went swimming but there was algae on the walls. I’m pretty sure the pumps were off because I didn’t see any movement in the water and No smell of chlorine. If you turned on that exhaust fan in the pool room, the rooms attached may not be so full of moisture. Maybe open the retractable roof once a day to let all of the humidity out.

Best part of the hotel was the convenience! Walking distance to River Riders and a short drive to the park or into town. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Older hotel which was completely fine with the reasonable price. Only disappointing part was cleanliness. Room was fine. More direction on getting trash and used towels taken care of would have been great. Pool and pool area definitely needs a good cleaning!

The caulk in the tub/shower in our room, #1314, had mold in the corners. The tub had a few spots of rust. The back of the bathroom door had an 18 inch by 6-inch patch of mold in the paint. The toilet seat was loose and missing a hold down screw. The upholstery on the chair had round grey stains in several spots. The elevator floor had small pieces of trash and long-term dirt built-up in the door tracks. While the cleanliness standards need some improvement to make the hotel a truly nice place to stay, the helpful, congenial staff made our stay an overall pleasant experience.

Decent enough hotel for the price, close to Harper's Ferry (can walk it via a trail at the back of the property without having to walk the road). Bit dated inside and lower floor corridor very dark; wifi needs improving as the signal was poor; needs soap in room (had shampoo, conditioner & moisturizer but no soap, even when asked at desk - random!); bar was nice enough and the staff were friendly, but could do with staying open longer than 2100.

The room was very nice and the location was great. There was a de humidifier in our room which was helpful but it was very dirty and full when we arrived. Friday morning we went to breakfast at 6:30 and the staff was very nice. We didnt realize on Saturday it wasnt available until 7, when we arrived at 6:40 the staff was very rude and said "its posted riggt there, not until 7:00!" Overall our stay was good, just lacking in some areas

The room was okay but the hallway and the room smelled a little musky... The ice maker was across the hall and it might have leaked and that might have been with the musky smell was coming from. For the money it was okay stay. And the girl at the front desk was really really nice and sweet. Easy friendly check in 👍

Well our room was on the first floor and right outside our room was the indoor pool, so when guests are using the pool it can easily get a bit noisy. But other than that the Clarion is alright. I like that the White Horse Tavern is in Lobby separate from the Hotel its just a few steps away which serves good food! Likewise with the free breakfast! Mind you it's an old hotel it just needs a little tender loving care upgrade with the rooms. Regards GT.

This was a last-minute trip and we were mostly pleased with this hotel. The halls a really dark, enough for my son to say that he was scared. The beds were comfortable, and the space was enough. The hotel needs a major tidy up and refresh. The rooms were mostly clean, but special attention needs to be paid to the bathroom, vanity, and surfaces.

The room was spacious and clean and it had a comfortable chair. That’s actually a huge + for me. The front desk was friendly. Breakfast was very good, and the young lady who handled breakfast was a Star!!! She either deserves a raise or a helper. She handled everything to keep a large crowd happy like a champ.

Front desk staff not at desk. Waited 10 minutes for someone to show up to check in. Breakfast was minimal, bacon so thin you could see through it and it had no taste. Hallway carpet was old the whole place smelled musty. Based on other reviews I expected better. The room itself was "not bad" but the overall condition of the hotel is below average.

Everyone at breakfast (especially Dee)& the front desk were wonderful. We did have an issue when we asked our room to be cleaned--they cleaned but didn't leave extra amenities--toilet paper, wash cloths. Ice machine was broken on our floor so had to get ice from the adjoining tavern. Did love the tavern! We would go back & the rates were reasonable. Just think things need to be a little more upgraded & broken things fixed.

Property was located close to the State Park entrance and convenient to places to eat. The building is older but clean & the bed was comfortable. We had plenty of hot water but the shower head left alot to be desired and the bathroom door latch didnt work properly. Basic breakfast of Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, etc. I would recommend this Clarion Inn

We had a nice stay. The check in went fine. They have a restaurant attached and went there for supper. It was good food. We had the fried green tomato blt. The pool was very warm, which was a very nice surprise. The halls were not lit well. Our room was nice and pretty clean. The bathroom had long black hairs on the floor and in the tub - not sure if from the cleaning person or what. The breakfast was decent. The coffee was very weak so that was disappointing to all of us as we like coffee to taste like coffee. The waffles are always a favorite and they had 3 flavors to choose from. They offered scrambled eggs, sausage links, and the normal cereal, toast, etc. It's nice to have that free breakfast included with our hotel stay. Overall it was a good stay and we slept well.

The rooms were very clean. The staff was impeccably sweet. It was convenient to have the tavern there to grab a meal. The disappointment is advertising for an indoor pool that was full of mold and an exercise room that was closed due to the equipment, not working. The breakfast was subpar the eggs were overcooked the sausage was greasy, and the orange juice was watered down with ice. The staff was extremely friendly, always smiling. The rooms were clean and smelled clean as well, including the bathrooms and we got to see deer every morning when we opened our curtains. I would highly suggest not to advertise an indoor pool or exercise room,when you’re bringing a teenager. If that was working, you would’ve gotten five stars.

The free breakfast consisted only of toast, dry cereal and other cold items because the kitchen was closed for maintenance. A hot breakfast was available the next day. We dined in the attached bar and grill, which was almost unbearably chilled. I retrieved a sweater from the car.

Everything was great, just one suggestion: when you serve scrambled eggs or omelets at breakfast, change them out when they have been out a while. They should be tender, not chewy. I also suggest you might add another waffle-maker, because it is so popular that people were standing in line!

I loved the fact that coffee was available all night long in the lobby and the daily breakfast was a plus. The ladies in the breakfast area were so sweet. One recommendation would be to have a multi juice station as the only juice available was orange juice. And even a skim milk offering would be great! The hotel had all amenities and even a heated indoor pool. There is a restaurant attached to the lobby, not too bad as a quick choice and close proximity!
